12/8/03 - Bullet is pending adoption.

11/19/03 - Hi Everyone, Bullet here. My foster Mom said it is about time I started using the computer, so I will give it a shot. I am still having a great time here with foster Mom, Dad and my foster brother, Tyson. Sometimes Tyson picks on me, but lately I have been getting much better about letting him know when I have had enough. I still love to play and I even found this really cool stuffed bone that I love. It is squishy and soft and so nice to play with. Outside, Mom and Dad threw a thing called a softball across the yard, and like any good dog would do, I thought I would help them out and bring it back to them. Boy, that softball thing is another nice toy!! I have also taken a liking to yogurt...yum!! Sometimes Mom puts that on my food in the morning and I eat it all up! I have really recovered since I arrived here and I can't wait to go to this place that Mom calls my forever home. It sounds like so much fun, she tells me I will have even more people who love me. I hope I get to go soon!! Bye...Bullet

11/11/03 - Bullet has finally decided he wants to play with toys, even if it means stealing them right out of the mouth of my boy!! He has really fallen in love with the Nylabone and a little spikey "Hedgehog". He throws them and catches them and then he shakes his head while the toy is in his mouth. This is the most active I have ever seen Bullet. Other than that he has been hanging around and getting used to the colder weather. In the mornings when I let him out, he tries to keep as much of his feet off the ground as possible. I guess it is too cold for his little Boxer toes!! Bullet is a great guy, just waiting to be taken home!!

11/8/03 - Bullet just had a bath and is busy trying to dry off, so I thought I would take this opportunity to write an update. He did very well in the tub. At first Bullet was apprehensive about going near the water, but after I helped him in the tub he was fine. He stood still and enjoyed the bath. He smells so much better now and has a nice shiny coat!! Bullet went for his last check up at the vet's last night and she was very pleased with how everything has healed and how wonderful he looks. The tech's weighed him again and he has actually put on 6 pounds!! He is filling out and looking much better and more alive. Bullet has been enjoying the backyard most of this morning. He loves to tear around with my boy as they chase each other and try to wrestle one another. Both of their tails are going full speed the entire time!! Bullet is ready to find his forever family could it be you?

11/4/03 - Bullet is still coming along nicely. He has finally warmed up to my dog and they do play together for short amounts of time. They play rough though, and because Bullet is still healing, I have to be careful of how much interaction they get. I finally started allowing the two of them to eat in the same room and there have been no problems at all. They both know which bowl to go to and they stay at that bowl. The funny thing is, when each is done, they will search the others bowl for leftovers!! It is very cute to watch them switch places and sniff the ground and surrounding areas for any dropped food!! Bullet loves treats and he responds very well to them. In fact, he knows his name quiet well and listens when he hears it. Bullet does not like to be left alone, he will whine continually for long periods of time if he is in a room where there are no people. He is pretty good in the crate, every once in a while, he has an issue with being in it, but most of the time he is fine. Bullet is completely housetrained, he has not had an accident since he has been here. For those of you looking for an older boy who still has some spunk...Bullet might be for you!!

10/31/03 - Bullet has become a whole new dog after just a few days of being back here from the vet's. He is so happy and people oriented. Even though Bullet is 4 years old, he has the pizazz and spunk that puts most younger dogs to shame. He is not outrageously crazy, but he loves to run, wiggle and follow me everywhere. When Bullet is outside, he likes to mark every tree and watch the squirrels. He doesn't seem to be interested in toys at this point, he will sniff them, but then he will leave them alone. Bullet had a check up at the vet's tonight and she said he is doing much better, it will still take a few weeks to heal, but he has improved and things are looking good. Bullet is eating his meals much better and seems much more interested in food than at first. I have allowed Bullet to meet my dog for brief periods of time (as not to overly stress him out) and he seems to get along fine. Bullet will growl and bark at my boy if he gets too rough, but then backs down. Like I said before, even though he is older, he still plays like a young dog. Keep checking back for updates on Bullet as he is sure to continue to amaze us all with his progress!!

10/28/03 - Good news for our Bullet. After an overnight stay at the vet's office for his infection, he has returned home and is 100 times better!! Bullet has become a new dog. He is lively and he is quiet a wiggler!! The vet figures it will take a few weeks for Bullet's incision to completely heal, but he has made great progress. All of the techs and office staff at the vet's commented on what a nice dog Bullet is..I think he may have changed their minds on Boxers!! Bullet is a slow eater and will only take a few bites at a time, but that may be due to the medication he is on. Bullet loves to be in the company of people, right now he is in the kitchen while I am typing this and is whining to be near me!! I will try to introduce Bullet to my dog shortly and see how he does in different situations, but I want to give him a few days to heal before I subject him to stress. He is a sharp looking dog who will win your hearts!!

10/26/03 -Bullet just arrived on Saturday. This boy is adorable but unfortunately a little sick right now. He has a slight infection from his neutering, so we are trying to get him feeling better. He has seen the vet, and is on antibiotics. So far he seems calm. I have not tested him with my dog yet or with being handled yet due to his illness. He seems like a sweet, people person dog.
