9/6/04 - Hello Everyone, I want to apologize for the length of time since my last update but we have had a
lot happening in our family. We have moved to sunny Southern California. We now live in Vista
which is in San Diego County. We were so concerned and heard so many horrible stories of dogs
flying especially during the summer heat that my husband actually drove with Butchie cross country
while myself and my children flew. Butchie LOVES it out here as much as we do. He has a new home
that he loves and a cousin rottweiler named Roxy that he really adores. They go down to the beach on
Saturday walks. I wanted to let everyone know that Butchie is doing GREAT in his new home.

1/6/04 - It has been two months and Butchie is doing very well. There were two incidents to when he and my youngest Myles did not see eye to eye. They made up and have been fine since. Butchie does not like the snow, rain, or the cold weather. He would rather be inside curled up on his favorite couch. He had a wonderful holiday with plenty of goodies in his stocking. The one situation that I have seen is that Butchie is VERY interested in squirrels. Maybe a little to much. That will be the one time that he actually "loses it" on the leash. We are getting ready to celebrate his 4th birthday next week. The funny thing is that it really seems that he has been with US for all four years and we are all happy.

11/10/03 - Hi everyone. I wanted to let you all know how Butchie is doing after his first week in his forever home. We could not have asked for a better fit into our family. It is like Butchie has ALWAYS been here. He is inseparable from our 9 yr old daughter and 5yr old son. He is the first boxer that we have owned. What a WONDERFUL breed they are. The only down side is that Butchie came down with kennel cough over the weekend. This is our first time dealing with this illness. We had him at the vet yesterday and he is now on meds so hopefully we should be seeing an improvement by the end of the week. My daughter thought that maybe if she covered him with a blanket every time that he laid down it would make him feel better :) I know that he is loving the attention. Butchie has been a WONDERFUL addition to "Team Taylor" and we are very grateful that he has come into our lives.

11/4/03 - Butchie has very happily left for his new home!

10/27/03 - Butchie has been introduced and spent time with all of the dogs in the home with the exception of my male boxer.
I have 3 female boxers ages 2, 4 and 9.5 and he does well with all 3 of them no issues. He has met my 8 month old Shih Tzu and does well with her also and my foster boy Parker an 8 month old male Pekingese. The only time I saw aggressiveness was one time tonight and it was over food. I was eating in the living room watching the news and my 2 yr old female was by me, Butchie came by and I went to get up to go back to the kitchen to finish eating and he growled a bit as the 2 yr old got closer to me. A quick "BUTCHIE NO, it's ok" and it was over with.
Buchie's hackles have gone up a few times but more out of nervousness, I feel, then anything else. Butchie doesn't care for the crate and to get him in I need to have the leash on him or he does fight it. Once I snap on the leash and walk him over to it, he goes right in. He pants quite a bit when in there but will settle after a bit. He would love to have a home where he would be able to spend most of his time with mom and/or dad and not be crated.
Butchie eats up all his dinner with no hesitation and is totally housebroken. There have been NO accidents at all.
I went to do laundry downstairs yesterday where the cats spend most of there time and Butchie never bothered with them...maybe he didn't see them but I don't know how he could miss them. We will go down and see them again this week.
Butchie is up to date and ready to roll. He is looking forward to having his very own mom and dad.

10/25/03 - Butchie arrived about an hour and a half ago all happy and wiggly. He spent that time outside playing wiht my 2 female boxers. I think they all wore each other out :o)) Butchie is now in his crate napping. This guy is such a beauty, his pictures do him no justice at all. We will take the introductions with my male and the small dogs in the home very slowly and over time to see how it goes. Butchie is a good boy and I think with time he will settle right in...the key is to go slow we find most times that will help. I will send an update on this boy in a couple of days. Keep those paws crossed that he does well with all the doggies.

10/18/03 - Unfortunately Butchie did not get along with  the adoptive family's small dog, so he will be returning to BAR next weekend.

10/12/03 - Butchie has been adopted.

10/09/03 - Butchie continues to be a fun dog to foster. We bought him a stuffed squeaky toy the other day and he just loves it. Lays down and chews and nuzzles it. He has a real funny habit and picking up small toys or a small piece of his chew bone and flipping it in the air. He amuses himself by throwing it around the living room and trying to catch it in the air. He actually hit me with a stuffed toy he was throwing around so high and far. I forgave him since he had me laughing so hard watching his antics. He also loves to just roll around on the couch snorting and burrowing in the cushions.
Butchie certainly likes to be with people. He frequently runs around the house checking on where we are to make sure he hasn't been left out of something or left alone. He is very social and always needs to be wherever the action is happening. Recently he has taken to lying on the floor watching foster dad work on a sump pump in our crawl space. Foster dad goes down into the crawl space and Butch lies right at the edge of the trap door watching him and ready to give him lots of kisses whenever foster dad is climbing up out of the trap door in the floor. In fact we think it has become Butchie's new favorite source of entertainment, to see how many kisses he can land on foster dad's face before he can get up out of the crawl space and onto his feet and out of Butchie's reach!
He would be great for any family that has room for him to play in. Does your child's team need a mascot, Butchie is the dog for you! He would great in a team tee-shirt or bandana.

- Hi all, Butchie here. It has been a fun week here in CT. I love my foster folks. Yesterday I amused them by throwing a part of my chew bone up in the air and all around the place. I was chasing it and tossing it and rolling around on the floor with it. I also do that to a new stuffed toy foster mom brought home for me a few days ago. I just love to play, foster dad rolls around on the floor with me a lot, I just love that, too.
I like sleeping on the couch so much more than my crate. It is just more comfy, ya know. I am getting better at going in my crate now in the mornings. I go in pretty good cuz I get cheese but I still cry and yowl a bit when left in there all alone.
They have 2 furballs here who totally ignore me even though I want to play with them. Know what else I like, to walk to the beach everyday and I even walk into the water.
So what do ya think? Want to make me part of your family? I promise to give you lots of big wet Boxer kisses and hugs. I'll play with you too if you have a big fenced in yard we could play in? Just give my agents a call and we'll talk.

10/01/03 - Butchie is such a great dog. My husband has been doing most of the walking with him and says he does not pull on his leash but does not heal well either. He just goes out to the end of his Flexi lead and walks from there. He is working with him on walking at a "heal" position. As I said, at least he does not pull hard while walking.
On his first walk to the lake Butch walked right into it and just stopped and looked around! He was pretty funny. He is not scared of the water at all and loves his walks on the beach everyday. We don't let him in very far as it is getting cold now.
He is crated everyday while we are at work and is slowly getting better at going in it, a little cheese helps coax him in. He is in his crate the whole work day and it has always remained dry and clean. He is usually just lying there sleeping when we get home.
He loves to play and play, loves his chew bones and to play wrestle. He is a beautiful dog and his coat and ears are like velvet. The American Boxer League lists his color as a "rare stag red" and I must say it is very striking in the sunlight. He seems to have adjusted to our home well and has really bonded with his foster dad. They wrestle on the floor together every night and Butchie is always gentle although he sounds fierce when getting into it. I do not get involved with the wrestling as Butchie is a big boy who is really still like a big puppy and doesn't know his own strength. This is the reason we think he would be better with older children, teens and adults. He has met kids on his walks and he just wiggles his butt and licks their faces. He loves kids as do all Boxers, he is just too exuberant for a young child.
We love our Butchie but are willing to let him be adopted out to a home with room for him to romp and somebody to play with. Could that be you? Get your applications in quickly as we are confident he won't be long in foster care.

9/28/03 - Butchie has arrived and he is one handsome boy!  He is a large Boxer-boy and is easily 65lbs and almost as tall as our countertops.  He is in very good shape and is obviously a well loved and well-cared for boy.  He came complete with his own blankie, and toys and a note to his new family from his former family.

He's from a home with 4 other dogs and a cat.  3 of the dogs are a toy breed and the other one is a mixed breed dog the family rescued from a shelter.  He plays rough, as most Boxers do, so he kept getting in scrapes with his mixed breed brother from the shelter.  His family has given him to Boxer Angles so that we can find him a home with lots of love and a big yard to romp in.  A home with maybe another dog that is used to playing with the big boys!
Although he is large he is all mush.  He came right in and immediately started giving kisses. He does jump on people to give hugs and we will be working on that.  We'll work with him on a more gentle approach to people, gentle style Boxer hugs.
Like we said, he is a gorgeous dog, he's a red fawn color with a black mask. He has a white chest and white toes.  He has a well kept, healthy coat and has natural ears and a docked tail.
So if you are wanting a dog with energy and bounce he is your boy.  He is too strong and active for a home with small children because he doesn't know his own strength.  At 3 1/2 years old he is really an adolescent and has a lot of love and life to give to a family.  Are you that family?
