11/17/04 - Here is a photo of  Kassie. )top right)  She is just a spoiled little girl and we love her dearly.  Kassie is on our lounge chair (her favorite spot on the deck) with our son's boxer K.C. They are nearly the same age, as far as we can estimate. They are best friends. Kassie get along with everyone and every animal with no problem. Our neighbor's daughter (5 year old Kirsten) loves to dress her up and Kassie loves to play along.

10/25/04 - I can't believe it has been a whole year since we were lucky enough to have Kassie join our family! She is just a total joy and constant source of amusement. Kassie is doing very well and still Maverick's best friend. She is quite clever in finding ways to get out of the fenced yard and we have to be careful to pad lock the gates when we go out since she can open latches. She stays right with us and does not go out of the yard, but we are beginning to believe that she is living up to her appearance and is a little ghost that can pass through walls (or fences)! She just loves to be near us and loves everyone she comes into contact with - and we love her right back!

5/26/04 - Kassie is such a joy to have in our home.  She continues to do well and is getting a lot of exercise as we clean up the lawn for the summer.  She met the neighbor children last weekend and played fetch with them.  She was quite gentle and sort of in awe of such "small people".  We are teaching her to walk at heel on a leash.  She tugs at first, but after about 1/2 a block, seems to fall into a steady pace.  She is such a sweetheart and we love her.

4/24/04 - Kassie is doing very well.  She is such a sweet girl and very well behaved.  She just loves to play fetch in the backyard now that the weather is improving.  She and Maverick continue to get along well and they don't seem to make a move without seeing where the other one is.  We just love our little girl!

3/26/04 - Kassie continues to be such a joy in our home.  She and Maverick are getting along just great.  Her personality is coming out more and more each month she is with us.  We have to be quite careful of treats as it seems that she will eat her weight in goodies if we would let her.  We are remodeling our kitchen and she has generally just stayed out of the construction mess, with one exception.  I guess she felt we worked way too long on the kitchen last Sunday and as my husband was leveling base cabinets with shims, Kassie was pulling them out with her talented paws and carrying them off into the TV room!  In five months, I think this is the only thing she has been scolded for.  She loves to play fetch in the back yard and continues to play well with Maverick and my son's 2 boxers.

2/25/04 - Wow, 4 months have gone by quickly. It seems as if Kassie has been with us forever. Kassie has been a very good girl and stayed at the Kennel while we were at our son's wedding. The time before and after the wedding, we were sitting our son's boxers, so with 4 boxers in the house her temperament was tested at times. She was a wonderful host and played with the other dogs and behaved beautifully. I have arranged for she and Maverick (6 yr old adopted 5/02) to go to basic manners school with the next class forming in March. Kassie's manners are good, but Maverick has no manners at all.
We continue to adore our Kassie and she is doing well. Thanks.

1/23/04 - Kassie has been such a special blessing to me, not only her general good behavior and loving nature, but a happy greeting and big hug right now is especially comforting. My mother passed away 3 days after Christmas and it has been a difficult and sad holiday. I can always count on Kassie to cheer me up, she seems to know when I'm particularly upset and need a boxer hug. Kassie and Maverick are still best of friends and they have the run of the house while I am at work and were very good for the sitter while we were traveling for my mother's funeral. I am looking forward to our son's wedding next month and then things should calm down for us to start taking Kassie and Maverick to obedience classes. I still hold that Maverick needs them worse than Kassie does! Again, she has been such a blessing!

12/27/03 - Kassie had her first Xmas here. she was a wonderful dog at Xmas. She got along with her friends that were visiting with our son, (his old girl and pup boxers) she shared her presents with all and also shared our food when no one was looking. . she is just a wonderful addition to our family.

11/23/03 - Kassie (Cassie) has been with us for 4 weeks now and is as much a part of our family as if she has been here forever. She is just the sweetest little girl. She and Maverick (6 year old brindle male adopted in May '02) are the best of friends. She will sit, stay and give a paw. Has not had an accident in the house and we put our crate back into storage after the first few days that Kassie was with us. She has learned in short order that the sofa in the living room was off limits, but the one in the TV room was just fine to curl up on.
Kassie has met our son's boxer girls, K.C. (10 months) and Kody (almost 9 years). KC and Kassie quickly became fast friends, but Kody is the dominant female and has had a few issues with Kassie. Kassie is so docile, that I was actually releved to see her stand up for herself when challenged.
Our vet found her to be quite healthy and we can attest to the fact that she has a healthy appetite. We are looking into obedience training in Mystic, CT and with my husband's help, will enroll both Maverick and Kassie at the same time. Thank you, BAR for everything you do and for finding our sweet Kassie for us.

10/25/03 - Cassie has been adopted.

"Cassie just left for her forever home! It was love at first sight for all...They brought their dog Maverick with them and they got along terrific. Running and playing in the back yard. Cassie will be a very very spoiled girl in her new home."

10/20/03 - Well Cassie has been here for a couple of days now and is doing extremely well! She has no issues at all with any of the dogs big, small, young or old. She likes to run after the cats but with some work I think she will be ok with them...will take some time and dedication though. Cassie loves to go outside and run and play with all the dogs. The more they play the more she likes them. When she comes indoors she does settle down and loves to be pet and cuddled. She will need obedience classes to help her along her way but I do think she will make some family a great addition. Having a boxer to play with is a plus for this girl. She will be going in for her spay then ready for her new family. I will be calling the vet tomorrow too set up the appointment for her.

10/18/03 - Well my newest foster has arrived and I have named her Cassie. She is approx 14 months old...white girl with a brown patch over the right eye. She is just too cute for words so I am attaching a couple of pictures of her.
