Pertinent Information 4/27/05 - Sammy is wonderful. He is such a laid back guy, everybody
just loves him and he loves them back. Just take him with you wherever
you go and he's happy. Always ready to play ball or whatever. He's a bit
stiff and it takes him a little while to get moving but it doesn't stop
him. He didn't seem to miss Lucy after she died, but he and Baby have
each other now and they seem fine. His vet check-up went well but he
needs more exercise (don't we all!) since he weighed in at 90.5 lbs. I
am so very happy I adopted this guy. He is a real joy. 2/15/04 - 11/3/03 - Sampson and Lucy have been adopted by their foster family. 10/31/03 - Great News! Sampson and Lucy are being adopted by their foster Mom. Thanks Jane. 9/1/03 - It's about time I got around to an update. Sam and Lucy are still waiting for their forever home. I know it's out there somewhere. They are the best. Today, on this rainy holiday, I took them for a little ride around town. They just love to go for rides, which we don't do everyday. Sam just lays in the back, but every time we slow down or I put the signal on, up he pops, to see if we're there yet. When we got back it was dinner time, then a short game of football, in the rain. That's about the extent of our exciting days. He is always ready to play, giving you those big, bright eyes. What a sweetheart. The next sunny day I will take some new photos. Please won't you give them a try? /24/03 - Hello everybody. I know it's been a long time, but i'm still here at my foster home. I'm doing fine. Had a hot spot not too long ago, so had to visit the vet and have it looked at and receive some medicine. Boy do I love all the attention. It's gone now and I feel fine. We went for a nice walk yesterday and Lucy came with us, now that her leg is stronger. She did real good. We didn't go too far since mom said it was, kind of, still too hot. We also have a baby visit us and boy do we love her. I love those stroller wheels, they get me all excited. But mom says "Sammy NO" and I listen, sort of. Well, we're still here waiting for that special someone. Can it be you??? 6/21/03 - Just a short update on Sammy. It seems our resident cat, Nora, got caught out in the open when Sam was let out, but to my surprise, neither of them did anything. Sam just quickly walked up to her and she just slowly walked away. Well, it only seems like curiosity on his part and "Oh hum" on hers. This makes me happy and only reinforces what a good boy he, truly, is. The resident clown who acts half his age, and who would like nothing better than to spend all his time with you, at your side. A real sweetheart. 6/5/03 - Hello everyone, Sam here. I want to play but everything is all wet, my jolly ball, my football and even my rope toy. ugh!!! But my hippo isn't, I'll have to squeak it in someone's face, and get them to play with me. Lucy tries but she has this big thing on her leg, that is a drag for her and me too. Usually we get to go for rides in the car. Better not leave your door open or I'm in, and you won't be able to get me out. I like that game!! We're still waiting for our forever home, it's nice here but we know, it's truly, not ours. Maybe if I gave you my big, brown, soulful eyes and my silly grin that would help. I'll get mom to send new photos and I'll show you my grin, if the sun ever comes out , that is.. Sam the Man 5/19/03 - Hello, This is a long over due update on Sampson and Lucy. They are perfect. No issues at all with either of them. They are getting very comfortable here but I'm sure that they would rather have a place all their own. They are all ready and just waiting for that special someone to open their hearts and home, to a couple of seniors, so that they can spend their last years in a home of their own. 4/12/03 - Morning Sam here. I'm liking it here at this foster home (whatever that means) I get to see lots of nice people coming and going, I get to run around outside with Lucy and we go for lots of walks. My foster mom keeps telling me I'm such a good boy, I don't pull her, only trip her because I tend to walk in front of her. She bought me a new longer leash, we haven't tried it out yet, cause the weather stinks. The food is pretty good too, mom says I could use a few more pounds so my ribs don't show but every time I come up for a breather Lucy finishes my supper. I did gain a pound when they weighed me this week at the vet's office. Boy do they love me at that place. I'm such a mellow fellow. Till next time, Sam the Man. 4/1/03 - Sampson is doing just fine here, I even think he's putting on a little weight. He had no problem after his neutering surgery. He still hops around like a puppy. It's so cute, he takes these little short jumps and turns completely around, usually right in front of you, as you're walking. But he never jumps on you. His teeth are better now and he's able to eat a big milk bone. Sammy has these great big, dark eyes that seem to sparkle and say I'm ready (for whatever) when you are. He's always ready to play and have you chase him round and round when he has his stuffed, red rhino. Sam is waiting for someone looking for a playful but quiet companion. Sam and Lucy would be great for an older person or persons or someone with young children. 3/25/03 - Sampson went off to be neutered today and he is doing fine. He also had his teeth cleaned and is on antibiotics for an infection due to the poor condition of his teeth and gums. But all should be a lot better for him now. He is such a sweet, happy guy. I bought them some toys of there own today He loves to play keep away with anything. He and Lucy had their baths yesterday, they were pushing each other out of the way, they both wanted to be first. They loved it. Sampson loves his walks and walks perfectly on leash, no pulling at all, unless he sees a squirrel. This baby will make someone very happy, he is full of pep and happy-go-lucky, acts more like a 5 year old, then 10. 3/21/03 - Well we just returned from the vet's office where he had his booster shots, blood work for heartworm (which came back neg. by the way) and pretty thorough exam. He has an infection in his mouth, for which he will start on antibiotics, due to poor dental hygiene. We made an appt. for Tues. for neutering and teeth cleaning, so both ends should be taken care of and then he will be all set. everyone in the office just loved him. He likes to sit and give you both his paws, at the same time, while his tongue is going a mile a minute, most of the time not making contact with your face. Tomorrow it's bath time and ear washing. So far he hasn't met the resident pooches, we are taking our time, but did come close to a few other dogs on our walks and at the vet's, without any issues, just curiosity. Sampson is a playful, well behaved, calm pup who would make anyone proud to have him as their own. Photos soon. 3/16/03 - Sampson arrived on Sunday after a nice car ride. A very good traveler, quiet, with a few smooches given to show his appreciation. After a couple of long walks he was ready to settle down for a nap before supper. He ate very well, Nutro Senior with a little canned mixed in. After his potty break he was settled in for the night. A few marking accidents and loose stools for me to pick up in AM, but that was just nerves, excitement and new food. He is such a love. Gives great kisses and hugs. Knows to sit, shake and stay. He is a very young 10 year old. He found a jolly ball in the yard and was playing keep away with my son, but then it was nap time. Last night he slept in his crate without a problem, I think he was pooped. He is such a good boy. More to follow in a day or two. |
