9/26/04 - So sorry you have not heard from Sugar in such a long time. She keeps busy with Tony her boxer brother. She was doing very well with him for months and then started fighting with him on occasion. The problem now is that Tony fights back and they are difficult to seperate when they go at each other. We have become very vigilant to watch Sugar and see when she will bother Tony and try to distract her before problems arise. Other than that she gets agitated whenever she sees a mailman and is difficult to console. That said Sugar is still the most snuggly dog ever with the humans. She is sweet and lovable. She likes nothing better than to meet new people or to snuggle on the sofa with someone. She loves napping anytime. Which is good because that's what the humans like.

3/1/04 - Sorry I'm a little late this month with Sugar's update, but we have been very busy with her new boxer brother, Tony. Sugar has adjusted very well to him and really seems to like having him around, even when he lays his whole body on top of her. She started obedience class tonight and gets very distracted with the other dogs. But we'll see how it goes.

1/15/04 - Sugar is fabulous. Her human sisters and mother cannot imagine life without her. It seems her favorite winter activity is curling up on the couch, with a warm body is preferable. Sugar just loves to snuggle and especially lie on the blankets so you cannot move. She is showered with attention and affection and she could not be happier. Occasionally she does get up to bark at a passing squirrel, or cat, or the mailman. She continues to get along well (as long as she's in charge) with her boxer friend Ella. We love her very much and are so happy she is with us.

12/14/03 - It's been four weeks since Sugar has joined our family and we could not possibly be any happier with her. Her fenced in yard is done and when she is in the mood, which means not too cold, she loves to run in circles and play fetch. She is settling in very nicely, still a velcro dog, but with time this will lessen - although we all love to have her close by. She is excellent at barking at cats, or leaves, or the wind outside. Besides curling up next to someone, her favorite thing has to be meeting new people. She just loves to introduce herself to anyone she meets. Her stitches were removed before Thanksgiving, she has been microchipped, and she has gained 5 pounds. She did need the weight, and we hope to stabilize the weight she has now. She has made a few trips to Massachusetts to visit Ella the Boxer, my boyfriends dog, and she can be friendly, but mostly likes to be in charge, so we are taking it slow with that. Thank you so much for letting us provide her forever home!!

11/22/03 - Sugar has been here for only a week and she has already become the star of the house. She now has all the affection and attention she deserves. Her stitches will be coming out this week and then she will be free to romp around as much as she would like. Sugar likes her walks and is anxiously awaiting the completion of her fenced in yard, it should be done on Friday. She loves to cuddle with us on the sofa, in her bed, and in any bed she can find a body. We love her to pieces and are so happy to have her in our family.

11/17/03 - Hi Robin, Sugar is doing very well.  She slept most of the way home and slept all night last night.  She went to the vet today and she did want to know if she had her heartworm treatment this month?  Do you know?

She is very snuggly, and likes to bark at the cats across the street and the mailman.  She has a very loud voice for a little girl.  Morgan is very excited about having her and I am off to pick her up from school.
Thank you so much for taking care of her for us,   Tina

11/16/03 - Sugar has been adopted.

11/10/03 - Sugar is pending adoption on 11/15/03..

11/5/03 - Sugar has settled in nicely here. She's bothering the cats less and less as she adjusts. The initial weeks are always new and confusing for foster pups and being in heat with her hormones raging probably was even more traumatic for Sugar. She and Boo seem to have come to a truce of sorts. She hasn't gotten in his face for the past two days and he hasn't growled at her! She's really quite the cuddle-bug at night. As soon as she thinks I'm getting ready for bed, she beats everybody else there so she can be closest. At first I wasn't so sure about this girl, but each day I like her more and more. She loves to go the post office with the rest of the crew and ride well, too. A week from today is Sugar's spay appointment. Hopefully your application is in process for this cute little girl. She'd love to have some turkey and pie with her new family!

10/31/03 - Sugar is slowly becoming more accustomed to the cats. She's still very interested, but less and less each day. She eats wonderfully; doesn't seem to have any food aggression issues. But this heat thing is a whole different game for us. We're kinda used to having boys here, so we're learning a big lesson about the female side of things. Sugar plays good with Mikey and Scooby, but she absolutely hates poor Boo. And such a feisty little girl. You wouldn't know it to look at her, but she can hold her own against the big guy. Thankfully she's really good in her crate and doesn't seem to mind being in there (unlike a certain other two). Sugar is totally housebroken as well. No problems in that area. I'm sure that once her hormones settle some, we'll see a big difference. Her spay appointment is already set and I'm just counting the days . . . .
Sugar is a very low maintenance girly: doesn't chew, get on furniture, counter surf or any of those annoying puppy tricks. She'd be great as an only dog, with kids, seniors, you name it. I really believe she'd be fine with other dogs, too, but they should probably be on the submissive side. She's not aggressive, just self-assured. So get your applications in quickly. She'll be good to go in mid-November.

10/30/03 - Sugar was welcomed to Boxer Training Camp by the staff on a rainy damp Wednesday. She's a cute little fawn girly who's family felt she needed more time and attention then they were able to provide. After her belongings were unpacked, introductions were made with the residents. So far, so good. Given the fact that she's in heat, we're watching her closely. She's a bit uncertain as to what's going on as are most newcomers. It's obvious that Sugar has had no exposure to cats, but we don't think that will be a problem with more exposure and desensitizing. For the next couple of days we'll see just what kind of a girl she is while waiting for her spay appointment.

10/29/03 - Endless Mountains Boxer Training Camp is pleased to announce the arrival of a new camper: Sugar. She is an owner surrender that we found out about from a friend of my son. Apparently the family didn't have time for her and she wasn't a little fluff ball. Whatever the case may be, she's safe here and has met the boys without too much trouble. The cats are another thing. She's particularly curious about them . . . . focused and determined. Oh, and she's in heat as well. That should make things pretty interesting around here for a week or two!
