Pertinent Information
5/14/005 - This is the
hardest thing I have ever had to type. At 9:00 am 5/14/05, Brandy
crossed over the bridge. We thought that all the cancer was gotten
during her last surgery. It seems that it has running thru her like a
quiet tornado. I am so lost without her. She was my companion, my friend
and also a bodyguard. I miss her so much that it really hurts. At least
now she is not feeling any more pain. I will always remember her funny
face.
4/22/05 - Good News....Brandy has come thru her cancer surgery with flying colors. The Vet said she is going to be OK. The surgery went great...and Brandy is now cancer free. Now she can be spoiled for a lot of years to come. 4/7/05 - Approximately 3 weeks ago Brandy had a large cancerous tumor removed from her right rear paw. For of short time things looked great, but, now she has to have more surgery tomorrow. The tumor has returned and is affecting her right rear paw again. The vet thinks it my have traveled up her leg. I have been in tears all week, worrying about her. Please say a prayer that Brandy gets thru the surgery with flying colors. 1/23/05 - We have had Brandy over a year now. It seems like she has always been a big part of our family. Brandy has been a lifesaver to me on a few occasions. Some times I have bad asthma attacks. When these occur, I sometimes pass out. During one of these attacks I fell to the floor and hit my face hard. The next thing I remember is Brandy nudging me with her head. I was then able to call for my daughter to help me stop the bleeding coming from my nose and mouth. I would not trade one day of having Brandy for the world.
5/14/04
- Brandy is doing super. When went to the vet today for a nail
clipping. When I had them weigh her, she came in at a trim fit of 74.8
lbs. They said she is as fit as a much younger dog. You
would 3/29/04 - Brandy is doing super. She has learned how to play with the other animals and us. She "boxes" with my son every time he comes in from work. To watch her, you think that she is a puppy again. I really can't believe the change in her. She now weighs a trim 78.6 lbs. She looks wonderful. Brandy is my "lil" lifesaver. Approximately two weeks ago I had a bad asthma attack sitting at the dining room table. When the attacks are bad, I tend to pass-out. While I was in the process of falling out of my chair onto the floor, Brandy came to my side and started kissing me and putting her head on my knee. When I felt her licking me, I did not fall totally off the chair. I thank everyone at BAR for bringing her into my life. 2/10/04 -Brandy has been having the time of her life. She seems to enjoy everything going on around her. She now has her own special pillow to sleep with. Anyone who meets her falls in love with her personality and loving attention. We stopped by the vet's to just weigh her and she is now down to 81.5 lbs. When we ask her if she wants to go for a ride, we just open the front door and she runs down the stairs and stands next the car door. It is really comical to see. 1/1/04 - Brandy has been so lovable and sweet. You got a new bed and pillow for Christmas, and she adores them. She is doing well on her diet. You can even see that she had lost a few more pounds. She actually has a waistline. She is always so happy around all family members. She will be going to have her nails cut this week, and I will see how much more she has lost. 12/1/03 - Brandy has been with us one month today. She has settled in nicely. She interacts wonderfully with every two and four legged occupant. She loves riding in the car. I take her to the bank drive-in with me. She sits on the back seat looking like queen of the world, watching the world go by. She loves wrestling on the floor with my teenage son. She constantly shows us how much she love us. She is well-loved, by every occupant of this house. 11/23/03 - Brandy is doing great. I took her to our vet this week. She passed with flying colors. The best part is that when we first got her, she weighed 91 lbs, and now she weighs only 84.6. The doctor said that was great. She had become more active, and plays with the other animals and her toys, and gets lots of loving. 11/16/03 - Brandy (Venus) is doing great. She settled right in and stole our hearts. She's loving, affectionate, listens, and has been kept on her diet. She plays with her new toys and chew bones like a puppy. Thank you for letting us adopt her. I don't know how we existed without her.
11/9/03 - I
wanted to share the good happenings with you. Brandy has been the best behaved, and she has
only been here a week. She has adapted quite well with the other animals in the
house. Her temperament is the best. 11/1/02 - Well, Venus just left a little while ago with her new family. Her new mommy Gina came down with her 19 year old son to pick Venus up. Venus loved them instantly. I sent her along with a little bit of her food to start her out and instructions on her diet. I made it a point to let them know how important it is for Venus to drop her weight down and get plenty of exercise. Venus is a lucky girl. She will be spoiled and loved completely. Venus took to her new mommy right away. The whole time they were here Venus sat right at (and sometimes on) Gina's feet. I think she will do great with this family. Great job Patty with another perfect match. Another great success. Way to go BAR!! 10/31/03 - Venus is pending adoption.
10/27/03 - I wanted to give a quick update on
Venus. Venus came here to stay with us for the remainder of her foster
experience. She arrived here Saturday evening and has begun to settle in
nicely. Venus will be UTD on all her vaccinations soon and then she will
be ready to go. 10/25/03 - Venus is still the same good girl. She is so quiet and so loveable. She melts my heart. Venus is so excited to see me when I come home from work, but she is not a jumper, so she just wiggles away. Sometimes I think she is going to spin herself around with the wiggles. Venus is not destructive and she never tries to take anything that is not hers. She does not like to play with toys very much, but would rather just sit by people and watch TV. Venus is not bothered by other animals and even when we go outside, she doesn't even seem to notice the squirrels. I just can't say enough good things about Venus. She is sure to make her forever family very happy. 10/21/03 - Venus has now been here for 3 days and we are growing very fond of her. She is a lovely older girl who is very patient and friendly. Venus will do what ever is asked of her. She comes when called, sits, stays, sleeps in her crate, is totally housebroken and loves to lay next to my feet!! She is becoming more tolerant of my dog, but still lets him know when he is bothering her. She does not like to share her food or have him anywhere near it, so for now, they are being fed in separate rooms. She walks like a perfect lady on her leash and even though I haven't taken her on a car ride, I can tell she would love to go cruising! When we are on walks, she stops by every parked car we pass and looks at me to see if I will let her back in!! Venus is a very good sleeper and makes the cutest little snoring noises!! She is a wonderful dog and will make someone a great companion! 10/19/03 -We have had Venus for a little over 24 hours now and have hardly noticed she is here. She is a doll, very quiet and very laid back. She came from a family who had children and loved her dearly, unfortunately could not keep here due to allergies. She went into her crate just fine last night without a peep and slept quietly until I woke her up this morning. She is content to lay on the rug in the kitchen. She is good with other dogs, however, she is the boss and will put my boxer Tyson into his place if he becomes a pest towards her. More to come soon on this one of a kind! |
