Being Fostered in NJ
Adoption Donation $300

8/23/05 - Its been a few months since our last update but for us the time has just flown by. This summer Cooper started to go swimming with me at the Lake & enjoys it very much. We've taken a few road trips back to NJ to see my family & he gets along marvelously with both my parents Shitzu & my sisters Pug. He's such a playful guy & is so happy to see me when I return home each day from work. He loves attention & frequently wants me all to himself, pushing Abbey out of the way. I am so glad that Cooper worked out as a great adoption for us, we look forward to many years of fun to come.

2/15/05 - Just wanted to let everyone know Cooper is doing great he weighs 45 lbs. We took him to the super pet expo and he was nose to nose kissing a pig and he also loved the camels. Cooper loves everyone. I will send pictures.

1/20/05 - Sorry for the delay on Cooper's update this month, but I started a new job, so all of us have been very busy trying to adjust to our new schedules. Cooper is still doing great and thriving here with us in Vermont. He's developed into a great friend & companion for Abbey as well as myself. He still loves to be close to both Abbey & I & he will often squeeze himself into the smallest of spaces just to be near us, often on top of us. Cooper has probably had a more difficult transition with my new schedule than Abbey. He has found himself to be in mischief on more than one
occasion. He loves to take things ( clothes, shoes etc.) that belong to me and spread them all over the house. I guess he misses me & this is the way he is comforted when I am out of the house. Its just very funny to find my stuff all over the house when I return, knowing things were in their place before I left. Well that's about it for this update, talk to you all again next month. Christina, Abbey & Cooper

12/18/04 - Hello & Happy Holidays,
Cooper is doing great here in VT, and he has adapted well to his new home. He has been a perfect gentlemen since day one, & honestly I couldn't be happier with this little boy. Cooper respects my older boxer Abbey & waits his turn when feeding & playing with toys. I no longer keep Cooper in the crate when I go to work, as he has proven that he is trustworthy & so far no accidents or problems when I return home. Cooper's only complaint is that it has been very cold here the past couple of weeks & sometimes even with his coat on, he needs a little encouragement to go outside & take care of business. Coop had his 1st check up with my Vet last week & he was great. He held still, didn't get excited, when he was examined & recv'd a clean bill of health. Well that's it for this update, I've attached our Christmas picture, so that everyone can see how great Cooper is doing with Abbey & I. Happy Holidays!

11/25/04 - I picked up Cooper last Thursday (11/18) and today he has been with us for one week. He rides great in the car and is adapting well to his new surroundings. His boxer sister, Abbey enjoys having a new brother and companion in the house. He enjoys playing and running in the backyard, and has become proficient at fetch. He loves to snuggle with myself and others who visit and surprisingly, Abbey even allows him to sleep with us at night. I can honestly say Cooper is a great dog, a great listener, and a great addition to this family. We will update you next on December 18th. Thanks again. Christina, Abbey, and Cooper

11/18/04 - Cooper has been adopted

11/13/04 - Cooper is pending adoption

11/8/04 - Everyone say hi to Cooper. Cooper is 11 months old fawn with his first birthday coming up on 11/29 (what a birthday present it would be to find him a great home!), about 55 lbs and playful as anything. His owners had to surrender him because they have an infant and can't give him the attention that he deserves. Cooper loves to run with other dogs and also gets along great with cats, although he tends to chase them around and play a little rough for their liking! The big boy also LOVES children, licking them until they surrender! Because he is a typical, rambunctious boxer pup, he would do best in a home with children over 5 yrs old as he tends to be a little too rough and tumble in playing with infants and smaller kids. He loves to be near his humans and will lean against you and try to get you to play as long as you will let him. He will chase a stick until your arm hurts from throwing it and loves to play tug with his pull toys. He also love to chase (what's left of) his tail round and round! It's the funniest thing to watch since he will never be able to catch his nub!

Did I mention that the boy is neutered, housebroken, crate trained, up to date on all shots, microchipped, and has no problem traveling in the car! Now that's a mouth full. Not a drop of motion sickness in him and he lets you know when it's time to go potty! Cooper knows basic commands and will sit on a hand signal, go to his bed next to ours when you say "Night Night", go relax in his crate when you tell him "Go to spot", but he will need professional training to make him a perfect little boy. He is a very intelligent little man who was trained by his owners to only go to the bathroom in one spot in the yard too! Cooper loves to run and run and run and, because of this, would do best in a home with a fenced yard.
Cooper likes to chew and goes wild for chew toys, especially "Greenies"! Without enough chew toys, he may get into some mischief so he needs to be crated when he is to be left alone. Cooper loves to sleep next to your bed and he will lay quietly on his blanket on the floor next to the bed if you put a leash on him. He is not aggressive towards other people but will always go to the door to see who's there!

Cooper is a great boy who would make a great addition to a home with, or without, other dogs.

8/1/04 - Sorry that we haven't been able to update the site about Cooper! With the new baby and my job moving to Columbus OH I actually forgot that it was time for updates!
Cooper is doing great, he is still getting along great with the baby and loves to lick the hands and face (although I suspect that this might have more to do with the yummy formula drippings than actual love for the baby! LOL). He hasn't gotten any bigger and seems to have stopped at about 50-55 lbs which is a blessing since a lot of people thought that he would be HUGE when we first got him since he was the biggest of the litter.
He is definitely keeping us busy as he is a stubborn little boy and tries to show that he is the boss when it comes to training issues, but he is getting better little by little. He knows to go to his crate when we tell him to "go to spot", goes upstairs and lays down next to the bed when we tell him to and definitely knows where to go when we say "go outside"!
He still can't be trusted to be left alone during the day so he is content in the crate for the 4 hours between Tania leaving for work and me returning. Didn't expect that since my last little girl couldn't be left out until she was about 2 or so.
Overall, Cooper has been keeping us busy and on our toes, especially with a 4 month old baby. He is as energetic and crazy in the yard as the day we got him. We can't wait for the baby to be old enough to play with him too!

3/31/04 - Just wanted to update everyone on Cooper's progress. Finally got the okay from the vet on the ringworm situation and it seems to have gone away. What a nightmare that was! Cooper also got his last set of shots over the weekend so my neighbors are all looking forward to him joining their dogs at the park.
Since we had the baby it has been a little hard working on the training with Coop, but I was able to housebreak him while I was home. Only accidents he has are when we don't see him sitting at the side door waiting to get outside.
He will also sit on command, drop something on command and when we say "Smoochies" get lots of kisses on the chin. Cooper is FINALLY not afraid to go up the stairs without being coached and is almost able to go down although he still needs some coaxing that way!
Cooper has been great with the newborn baby and loves to try to lick his face, although the baby is not quite sure what to make of that big ole boxer tongue yet! No jealousy, whining or spiteful behavior so we are very proud of him. As for his relationship with the cat, that's another story. He still thinks that Tasha is his toy and can get rough with her. She, however, has gotten into the habit of swatting at him (she is declawed) whenever he is in reach like she did with our last Boxer, Akira. She still hasn't figured out that he is slightly rougher than she was.
Spoke to a trainer that was recommended and will begin official training once Coop hits 6 months. Other than that, not much else to report right now. Will follow up next month!

2/5/04 - My little cooper man just left with his new dad.
I have had a lot of dogs come and go form this house, i have to admit this was one of the sadder departures. I guess having the little man since he was 2 weeks old (Saturday they will be 9 weeks old) and bottle feeding him and cleaning his poop for all those weeks makes for a somewhat stronger bond.

Well, we brought down Dreyfus's sisters Zeena & Airebby from upstate so he won't be alone for the next couple of weeks, when they will all go in to be fixed. I hope he won't be too sad now that his brother has left..I know I am a bit sad.

1/25/04 - Cooper is pending adoption.

1/9/04 - Hi all....Cooper here. I am a shelter surrender. My mom was given up to the shelter as her dad didn't want to deal with the pups...mom had me and 2 weeks later her dad came back to get her and left me :o(
I have been bottle fed and am growing like a weed. Starting to eat some moist puppy food and dry food that has been softened.
I will be brought up to date on puppy shots and spayed prior to my leaving.
I have a family all ready and waiting for me and they are so very excited as they have been waiting a very long time for a puppy boy just like me!!
I love to play and am your typical pouncy boy....mom says I will be a very active and playful pup so my new family will need to stock up on toys for me.
I am so very lucky and can't wait until I am big enough to go home.
Watch for further updates and photos as I grow.
