1/20/06 - Sorry its taken so long to catch up. After we got Buddy home we took him to our local vet to be treated for intestinal worms. Since then all has been wonderful. He is the king of his castle. He not only has a crate, but two beds (one in the living room and one in our bedroom) Buddy gets along with all of our grandchildren. He is my constant companion. Buddy loves taking rides in the car. He is eating well and is up to 64 lbs. We also had him microchipped. Buddy loves his BIG back yard and runs in figure eights like a wildman. I can put my hands in his food dish and he just waits till I'm done. Buddy stays in his crate while we are at work, and learned to go in just at the rattling his cookie jar. We are in and out all day so he is not in the crate for long periods of time.
Initially he was so excited that he would forget to go the bathroom until it was almost to late. He has that pretty well under control. He was great over Christmas, left the tree alone and enjoyed opening all his gifts. He still wants to be the center of attention. (and it) He loves to snuggle on the couch and watch TV with us. He has is own chair that he sits on and watches out the window and will let you know if someone or something different is around. We graduated obedience training last night. Adopting Buddy and making him ours forever was just the right thing. I will attach
updated pictures when I figure out how to do that.

10/23/05 - Buddy was adopted on Sat.  The adoption went well and Buddy just loved his new family.  I talked to Lillian that night and she said he settled in just fine.

10/18/05 - Buddy is doing great. He has such a great personality. He loves to play and has great energy he really is still quite a puppy. He has put on approximately 5 lbs and his coat has quite a shine to it. He continues to be crated during the day when I am at work, but he sleeps out of the crate at night. He has his own dog bed and he really likes it and sleeps along side of the bed at night. Who ever decides to give this boy a forever home will be forever blessed with constant love and devotion, this boy has so much to give. he is going to require some training, patients and lots of love, but he is so worth it. He is just such a fantastic boy!

10/12/05 - Buddy continues to present with some house training. He sleeps out of his crate at night and will only ask to go out if I get up. I have not left out of his crate while I'm at work, only because he still demonstrates puppy behaviors and I am afraid he might get into trouble if unsupervised. He stays in his crate up to 8 hours some days and he has had no accidents.
Buddy has lots of energy and would definitely benefit from a nice big back yard where he can run and play fetch (which seems to be one of his favorite games) He He loves attention, lots of hugs and kiss and will make someone a wonderful companion.

10/11/05 - Well Buddy has settled nicely into his new surroundings. He is really starting to come out of his shell. He loves to play fetch is great about bring the ball back and giving it to me. His other favorite game is playing tug-of-war with my dog Sadie, who seems to be his new best friend. He slept out of his crate last night and had no accidents. He will go to the door and cry when he has to go out or he will start pacing when he has to go out. He will go out and do his business right away no fooling around. He love to go for walks and is pretty good on the lease when there is no one else around, however he he sees another dog or animal or person he will begin to pull and will become very excited. He has learned to sit on command and he is working on down. Buddy will also rush the door when you open it so I have been having him sit then I open the door and make him sit until I am ready to take him out, this seem to be working. He will get excited and will occasionally jump up so we are working on the off command. Buddy is responsive to the command No and will usually stop whatever he is doing. Sometimes I will have to get up and get his visual attention before he responds to the command. I use clicker training with my other dogs and Buddy has pick this up quickly. I will click for my dogs and Buddy will come to me and immediately sit. He will require obedience training, but he seems like a very bright boy and extremely willing to please, so I think he will respond well to training. Buddy loves to curl up on the couch with me at night and watch TV. He does respond to No and will go lay in his bed. He loves lots of hugs and kiss, but sometimes he can be a little pushy and has to be reminded that he is not the center of attention
there are other dogs in the house. Buddy has a great temperament he seems to love everyone he comes in contact with. He has not been exposed to cats or male dogs, so I'm not sure how he would do with them. I have taken food away from him and pulled bones from his mouth and he is fine.

10/3/05 - Buddy arrived at our house on Friday evening. I met the transport not far from my house. It seemed to be a nice transition. Buddy jumped right in the back seat and settled down nicely. He seems to enjoy riding in the car and is very well behaved. Buddy appears to have had a rough start in life, he is quite thin and has many scrapes. He also has a sad look in his eyes. Buddy made a nice adjustment to his foster home. He seems to get along with other dogs at least females. He appears to really enjoy children over the age of five, but he has not had a chance to be with younger
children. Buddy doesn't seem to mind his crate he will actually go and lay in it occasionally. He needs some obedience training (sit, down, come and stay), but he is very willing. Buddy appears to be house trained and will go to the door to go out. We named him Buddy because that is the name he responded to. He really is a lovable boy and true to his name he would make someone a fantastic buddy.
