1/6/06 - Hi All! Our little girl is getting so big. Sierra was recently at the vet and had the last of her shots for now. She is a whopping 28 pounds and growing like a weed. Sierra enjoyed her first Christmas and even helped mommy take down the tree (without being asked:) I guess someone was not in the holiday spirit!!Sierra has grown out of her crate and moved up to a large. We are hoping to have her fixed next month. 12/5/05 - Sierra got to see her first snow fall!! At first, she was afraid of the cold, white wetness, but after a little encouragement and seeing her brother playing, she jumped right in and had a ball. She is adjusting so well. Sierra saw her new vet on 11/28. Although she did have worms, she got an overall clean bill of health. She weighed in at a wopping 15 pounds (5 lbs in 8 days!!!) Sierra got additional vaccines and is scheduled to go back in two weeks. She is really starting to demonstrate boxer qualities; putting her huge paws on our cheeks when playing with her, speed running around the front yard, etc. We are so happy to have her in our lives-she is just so loving a such a snuggler. 11/22/05 - Sierra (previously known as Cassie) is doing great! Thank you so much for bringing her into our lives. She is so wonderful and loving. Sierra loves to snuggle with us and who can say no to that?!?! We brought her home on Saturday and she instantly sniffed out the place. She was introduced to her new Brother, Izzy who is a 1.5 year old male pug. I am happy to report they are getting along great. Izzy is showing Sierra the ropes; were to go potty, the best spot to catch some rays on the couch, which toys are the most fun, etc. Sierra has been eating well and, thanks to Kim's helpful house breaking tips, has yet to make a mess in the house. Sierra has a vet appointment on 11/28/05. They'll be checking for worms and doing an initial evaluation based on her current chart Kim supplied us with. We are looking forward to spending Turkey Day with our newly expanded family. Thank you BAR for bringing such a wonderful bundle of joy into our lives. 11/19/05 - Cassie has been adopted 11/15/05 - Cassie is pending adoption 11/7/05 - Cassie went along with her sisters to the Vet today for her shots. The Vet was pleased with how their docking and dew claw removal had healed. She had plenty of attention and loved it, she didn't even notice the needle go in! They are now having a huge sleep after such a big adventure. Cassie is a fun loving lively young girl, very busy and into everything. She has a wonderful rich deep red Boxer coat, just like her Mom. Along with her sisters she is getting the hang of toilet training and sleeping through the night. If you are interested in adding Cassie or Hummer to your home, more photos are available on request. More Cassie tales soon when she's not so sleepy......
10/28/05 - Hi everyone
out there, pleased to meet you. I am Cassie and my foster Mommy
says I am sooo beautiful, my coat is very short and smooth and well just
perfect right down to my toes! I am a little like my sister Hummer,
we like to watch our other two sisters get into things and if it looks
good we join them, if not we just snooze a little more. I call it being
careful! I love to run on the carpet in the living room all by myself,
saying hi to the old dog Tippy, finding toys under the sofa, oh I love
toys. I loves my food also and the best is putting my head into
the yogurt....oh wait no I think I love it most when we get steak for
dinner.
10/24/05 -
Well big peoples, today we all
went outside for the first time to take a look , the leaves were falling
all around us, the sun was peeking through the trees and the air smelled
good, like your best stick that you keep hidden in the woods. We all had
a play, some of us were braver than others but we had fun. The best part
was when our Mom came out to join us and we sneaked a quick drink at the
milk bar, she was very happy to be with us again now that she is better.
At night she sleeps right across from our pen in the living room so that
she can keep a watchful eye on us not that there's any need, we heard
our peoples say that we are Angels! look out for more adventures soon,
10/19/05 - The puppies
are continuing to do well despite their bad start in life, we found out
that Mom and pups were in a kill shelter, sleeping on concrete,
thankfully a nearby Vet alerted Boxer rescue to their plight and
gave them all medical attention, a kind person , to be sure. After
passing several types of worms for days the babies are finally looking
and feeling better, eating well and putting on weight, their worm burden
was truly horrific! They are full of life
Hey peoples!
10/15/06 - BAR would also like to send a HUGE
thank you to Ed Kelly who drove to VA to pick up mom and pups and
meet me back in NJ....Ed is a saint and has helped us more then once
with these long distance trip.....thank Ed for being their angel...I
am sure Cookie doesn't mind your absence when you are helping fellow
boxers. Tina
