2/9/06 -
Judy is doing wonderfully well.  She has completed her basic obedience course and gone on for her good citizenship course.  She has calmed down and become quite the lady. She does believe she is Queen Tut and not into sharing.  Maybe this will change with her constant exposure.

11/12/05 - Judy has been adopted.  Super Tamara brought Judy from NY to Boston last night.  I picked up Judy this morning, and she was wonderful in the car, slept almost all the way from Boston to Seabrook, and when awake, you wouldn't even know she was in the car. Judy and Joyce (and a woman friend of Joyce's) all got off to a great start.
Kisses from Judy for both of them as soon as I opened the car window when they walked over (gosh, I didn't
get any when I picked her up!  lol).  Joyce is a hiker/walker, and Maine can get mighty cold, so it's going to be a coat and boots for Judy soon!  In addition to possible winter trips to Florida.  Best wishes to you both.

11/9/05 - Judy is pending adoption.

10/30/05 - All is well with Judy. We finally found something she likes to play with and its just a simple ball. It surprised all of us when my granddaughter pulled out a ball and Judy couldn't wait to have it. SO she loves to play ball. She is doing great and getting along with everyone and everything.
Not much new to say, how many times can I say she is a sweetheart of a girl and very laid back. I would like to see her in a home where she isn't home alone for long periods of time because she loves people so much and gets lonely. You can walk out the door and come back in less than five minutes and she will wiggle all over like you were gone for hours. She slept with my grandson last night and he couldn't get over how cuddly boxers are.

10/21/05 - Not too much new on Judy. She is starting to run in the back yard on her own without coming to the house. Tony has gotten her to box a little in the yard.  She loves everybody and greats all who visit with wiggles and kisses. I don't mind her staying with me as long as it takes for her to get a super home. Friends stopped by last night for a few minutes and when they met Judy the wife said I want her, I want her. She was very free with the kisses. If they didn't live in an apartment that doesn't allow pets she would have had a home. Going to try to re-send the new pictures for her web site. She has put on a few more pounds. My granddaughter loves giving them treats. She is very
gentle with receiving them. The other day at nap time she slept between my granddaughter and her mother, right smack dab in the middle. When we horse around with Lilli she gets excited and wags her tail and barks like hey what about me and don't you dare hurt that little girl. I have no doubt that she is excellent with children after watching what she goes thru with my granddaughter and how much she loves her. Lilli tells me when she hugs Judy "I just love her".

10/9/05 - Another update on Judy girl. I have taken some new pictures, its so hard to get them to show how sweet she is. Tony is always giving her kisses. There is one picture of them both looking in the sliding door from the outside. She has been great with my two year old granddaughter. She hugs her constantly and pulls her around by the collar and Judy just goes with her and comes back for more.
Found she does have one bad habit. Now that she is comfortable here she decided it was okay to help herself to the garbage. She did it two days in a row. She only does it when know one is home. So we fixed that by removing the can from the kitchen or just crate her. Either one works. She likes her food and if Tony doesn't eat his I have to lift it up so she won't have those extra meals. She loves it outside when it is sunny and she will talk to you if you encourage her. All I can say is she is a real sweet girl and she takes naps with my granddaughter every day. That's all for now.

10/2/05 - Well I have to say the dogs are getting along wonderfully, too wonderfully at times. I found they are a little unhappy with me two days this week for being out a lot. One day someone decided to lift the garbage can cover off and spew what was in it around, mostly papers and an apple core.  Another day they found a box of Ghirardelli chocolate/masterpieces collection on top of my dresser and decided they needed them more than me. Spiteful aren't they. Anyway everyone seems to be okay and not sick at all. I will get even, my granddaughter will be coming to stay for a few weeks, that will teach them. I find Judy and Tony laying together all the time now. Judy is putting on weight so I think I will have to pick up Tony's food when he doesn't eat right a way. Judy lets me know with a whine or bark that she needs to go out. Haven't had any problems taking food from her and she minds well. So other than the mischief they recently got into she has been excellent. She looks at you with those eyes and it makes you melt. She does the body wiggle and looks up at you and who could say no to that. I am going to try to get some new pictures of her for her web page.

9/25/05 - Time for another update on Judy,Judy,Judy. She is doing great. Still can't get her to play with toys but some don't. She would rather be petted or curl up next to you or anywhere in your vicinity. She runs the back fence line with the other dogs and when I call her she barrels across the yard to the door. Yesterday she ran so fast she jumped the three steps to get in the house. I didn't know she had it in her. In the house she is quiet, gentle and likes to curl up and sleep. She has gotten to the point now that she will go into other rooms and curl up and doesn't have to be with you
every minute. She takes her treats very gently and sits for them. When she curls up next to you, you don't even know she is there unless she starts snoring. She goes in her crate once in a while to lay down, the door is always open. She does not surf the counters at all. She is just one soft cuddly little girl who wants to be loved and love back. I am surprised she is still here. Its easy to get attached to her.

9/19/05 - Judy is doing very well. I leave her loose even when I am not home. This past week I had to work my two jobs and I would come home between them and feed and let them out. Thank god tonight is it for that. She has not had any accidents in the house at all. When I am home she lets me know when she wants to go out sometimes its just to look around and catch a few rays. She also lets me know if she doesn't want to be out anymore. A quick bark.  She and Tony haven't had any problems. He pushes her out of the way if he wants to be pet first and she tolerates it, not even a growl.  She greets me every day at the window when I return home and then she runs to the door. She does run
sometimes outside, most of the time she just meanders, takes a long time to decide where she wants do go potty. I think she has investigated every inch of the yard. She takes her treats very gracefully and will sit for them. What can I say she's a real doll.

9/14/05 - Judy is doing very well. She is such a good girl. I am happy to say her and Tony are getting along fabulously. They sleep in the same room, sometimes Judy curls up so close she puts her head on his butt. So happy she doesn't have any problems with male dogs. I have gotten her to eat her food outside the crate twice now and she even went into the room where Tony's food was and thought she should have some of that too. Must be that little bit of grated cheese that enticed her. I have only crated her once when Tony had a vet appt. she was very happy when we returned. I leave her loose while I am at work and this week I am working two jobs for a few days and she has been fine. No accidents in the house at all. No destruction what-so-ever. After the last two fosters this is such a nice break. Thank you all. I couldn't ask for a more behaved little girl. She sits for her treats, she lets me know when she has to go out. What can I say. She will make someone (s) very happy and they her. I have finally gotten to see her run. She was half way across the lawn when I opened the door and she ran at full speed to come back in the house. So we have found that third speed, but only when she misses you. Haven't been able to entice her to play yet. She is just content to lay around in the same room. Oh and today is the first time I have come home and seen a dog face in my window. She has figured out how to get through the vertical blinds to see who is here and there she was just looking at me and I could see that body wave from her tail wagging. How cute is that.

9/12/05 -
Judy arrived on Saturday. She came right to me and sat in the front seat with me. She curled right up and slept for the short 10 minute ride to my house. She came in and ran right to the gate to meet Tony with wiggles. I took her out and she is great on a leash. She doesn't pull at all. She takes her time. We investigated the entire yard by the end of the day. She learned there were dogs on the other side of the rear fence and she wanted to join Tony running the fence line but I told her no and she pulled a little , she was getting excited. By Sunday I let her loose in the yard and she did very well. Got to run a little with the dogs in the back and she lost interest very quickly. She loves attention as they all do. So far she has been great. Not eating a lot but that's to be expected. She sniffs Tony's food but doesn't touch it. She curls up in a ball and sleeps, and blends in with the white sheets. Sometimes she can snore pretty good. I agree she is very soft and for the most part dainty. She prefers the toilet to a nice clean bowl of water so I have to remember to keep the seat down. She whimpers a little when you go out the door. Otherwise you wouldn't know she is in the house. She will bark when outside if she hears or sees someone but it is short-lived with a word or two. She was actually sun bathing herself yesterday and didn't want to come back in the house. Will update again soon. She would be great in a home that someone is around most of the time and she would be good with children but not infants. Male dogs don't seem to bother her either.

9/10/05 - Hi, I just returned from my Kingston-Albany leg of Judy's transport.  This was my first transport.  I was glad to be doing it for the dog, even though it meant rearranging my weekend a bit and burning some extra $3.19 per gallon gasoline (we didn't used to think in those terms until this month, did we).

I never expected to get so much myself out of these last couple of hours.  It's always nice to do the phone interviews and I enjoyed the one home visit I've done so far, but nothing comes close to this afternoon's transport, where I had the opportunity to interact with one of the boxer darlings.  If it weren't for her unfortunate antipathy to other female dogs, I would have been soooo tempted to put in a bid for this sweet girl.  Judy is a lolly pop, just as sweet as can be.  Although a little confused about what was happening, she was sweet, affectionate, smart, obedient (someone did a great job of training), and responsive to cues from me about what was expected.  This one would be easy to fall in love with... I'm smitten after spending just 90 minutes with her.  I was also thrilled to meet such nice people in Joann, Jim and Tamara.   I came home feeling so good that I can't wait to do it again.

So... I hope someone out there will soon give Judy the chance to show what an outstanding companion she is capable of being... and next time a transport comes along approximately near my way, I will be thrilled to sign on.     Geraldine

8/24/05 - Hello everyone...time for Judy's update, I know...I know..a few weeks have slipped by..... Judy & I went to The Little Shelter Adopt-A-Thon, Huntington, NY on Sat. August 20th. BAR had a booth there and we went to show Miss Judy off and to give BAR support and to "show" one of our Fosters. Judy, I knew, would be a very good representative of BAR. She is very calm, she shows herself to be very good in situations where other dogs will be and she is just a real lovey type of girl. Judy was the perfect representative for Boxer Angel's Rescue, she kissed as many little faces as she could and even when near other dogs that showed her aggression, she was easily made to stay near me. Judy had many , many wiggles for any person, big or small that came near her. Judy just doesn't do well with other females. Judy gets tense & is "ready" for the fight, if need be when another female is present. As VERY good as she was at Little Shelter on Saturday..& there were MANY dogs out & about...Judy will not back down from another dog that shows any sort of aggression. Especially if it is a female.
Judy got many......."she is beautiful........ohhhhh what a beautiful girl....what a love bug....on Saturday, and she certainly is.....as long as she doesn't feel that she needs to compete with another female for attention. I say this as I have my male, Bogey (my 10 year old sweetie BIG BOY) and Judy has never even given him a nasty look. Bogey can "push" her out of the way when he wants my attention and she doesn't care. If my female Porche comes into the room.......you have to keep your eyes on them & be ready to stop Judy from being the aggressor. Judy is a beautiful, sweet natured girl....I mean sooooooo very dang sweet that you melt looking at her...but she just does not do well with another female being in her "clan". I have not met a baby more sweet & reserved as Judy is...until another female is put in the "mix".  Judy is thee, as I have said before, THEE sweetest soul with ANY human, big or small. Judy just doesn't want to share her world with another female.
"Downey"(as she is SOOOOOO very soft)..aka...Judy is just looking to be told that she is worthy.......worthy of love. And.......she is worthy, so very affectionate, just looking to be loved back. Thank you for peeking at this Lil" girl....please, don't wait ....as I know, she will be scooped up by the right, loving family.
Judy is very much....a beautiful, sweet, loving girl. It would be a shame, if your family/lifestyle allowed for her to be the only female.....to miss out on such unconditional love "granted" to the humans that love her in return.

8/7/05 - Hey Everyone, time for Miss Judy's (aka Miss Downey, as she is SOOOOOOOOOOO soft & silky!!) Never having been around a white before, I don't know if this super softness is the "norm" or this girl is thee exception....it's like rubbing your hands over the softest mink coat!! Judy is coming around..she is starting to trust again that she will not be hurt and all anyone that she encounters wants to do is kissy face with her & tell her how beautiful she is. Today, she actually RAN across the yard in excitement with my boyz. Funny as heck too, 'cause she "realizes" she is trolloping along & all of a sudden stops like.....did I do that?? Judy is "smiling" much more now. She is eating WAY better than when she first came to stay with us. The first 3 days, she wouldn't eat. I got nervous about her not eating so I gave her some plain yogurt..lawdhavemercy!! I have never seen a Boxer baby gobble it up so quickly. But, for the next few weeks, she would only eat her food with yogurt in it. Now, we can give her plain, dry food, she manages to eat about 3 cups a day.
Judy is sooooooooooooo very mellow. She does not run, jump, bounce, bark, play with toys. She has "tried" a few times but I guess she is just not used to being able to "express" herself freely. After today's little sprints, hopefully, it means she is feeling freer to express her goofy side. My ex-husband kids around & nicknamed her "Two Speed"...she goes slow & slower. Judy is just THAT mellow and really THAT gentle.
Judy will make someone a VERY wonderful companion, she is VERY devoted when one shows her kindness. She LOVES everyone and her whole body wiggles to show it. Judy also is a "talker" THEE cutest thing to witness! She'll be looking at you with those forlorned eyes and you say..."Did you wanna tell me something?" She starts to wiggle(whole body wiggle, going in all different directions) you ask her again, "Did you wanna say something?" and she'll start to woo woo woo, wiggling faster and backing up the entire time. SO DAMN sweet! And her kisses??? well.....alright, she has bad breath BUT getting kisses from this girl is such a bright spot that you forget about the breath thing. Judy is in excellent health, getting more comfortable that all she is going to receive  for the rest of her life is hugs, love, devotion to her sweetness and true friendship. Judy is starting to understand what the Mama Lady means by..you believed in the Angels and they came to show you the love you have always deserved.
Judy "might probably" and I say might probably do best in a home that there are no other adult female dogs as she & my Porche(who is NOT the bestest Hostess, so I cannot lay all the blame with Judy, but she had started a fight or 2 all on her lonesome )Judy has been a peach with my male Bogey, never a problem AT ALL between them. So maybe, just maybe...as the girls have not had a spat in a week & 1/2, they both sorta mellowed toward each other. I truly don't believe that there is ANY aggression in Miss Judy, just the "angst" of the 2 girls "allowing" for one another. You could not ask for a better baby than Judy, she is sociable, she is VERY house-trained, cries by the door when she needs "extra" out time, chews nothing, no counter-surfing, no garbage. Judy knows many commands and accommodates you very willingly.
Don't miss out on this girl.....she is one in a million! Thank you for taking the time to peek at our Lil' MIss Downey

7/24/05 - Time for Miss Judy's update. Her visit with the Vet on Tuesday was great! Everything negative (HW & fecal). Judy was a absolute DOLL the entire 2 hours we were in there too! She barked at no-one, humans included and never once tried a lunge at any of the other 6 dogs while we were there. Judy is a super sad sack girly. She is fearful. She cowers and drawers her ears back with that look still...of please, don't hurt me. So sad really to see. My Cousin's wife said on Saturday when they met her, "Someone broke that dogs spirit, any idea what happened to her Debby?" And she is absolutely right, it does appear that her spirit has been broken. But, I know The Angels will help her find it once again..she will rally, I am already getting more wiggles & kisses
We have had an issue here with Judy being the aggressor 2x toward Porche, she didn't like the fact that Porche was barking and it got pretty ugly both times. Back to the crate for her. Judy is suffering from separation anxiety as well & she is a BARKER & whiner, but, I am happy to say inside of this past week's time, with the help of a VERY LARGE coffee can w/ nuts, bolts etc. in it and a good healthy shake when she would start barking, she barely makes a bark when you leave her alone in the room and she can't see you.
Originally, I had asked Gary to move Judy, the fights were that bad...thought I broke my toes with the last one. So Gary suggested we might swap her with Spike, who is being fostered near by here. I am SUCH a sap! Bob came over with Spike to do the swap, Judy looked all depressed that morning and Bob & Spike looked even MORE depressed, so I couldn't do it! Figured, o.k. I'm bigger than the both of them (Porche & Judy) so I'll suck it up & deal. So far, so good and everyone is loose in the house...with VERY watchful eyes upon them. I think all will be just fine. They know The Mama Lady can be downright persistent!
I will grab a camera this week & get some pictures of this beauty up here a.s.a.p. Thanx for peeking!

7/17/05 - Hey Everyone, Please welcome Judy, the newest baby "The Angels" led us to. She is a sweetie, very nervous right now, but sweet, sweet nonetheless. Judy seems to have some manners. She has the basic commands down already and is very happy to comply.
Judy seems to have been mistreated as she cowers and looks at you with that...........Please don't hurt me look in her eyes.  We met Gary at the shelter Tuesday night and thankfully, she has already shown signs of trusting again :o) she already "went velvet".
She absolutely loves the kids already, does not leave my side for a moment, which my Sweet Pecan Pie, Porche is finding difficult to "allow" but it is all working itself out. Judy already is out & about in the house and has been a real good girly. She just wants to
please.
I will be trying to make a app't w/ my Vet to give her a check-up, get a Heart Worm test done & a fecal test done. I will let you know how it all turns out.
Thank you for peeking at the sweetie girl ..ohhhh, pics soon I hope. And thank you for welcoming the Lil' girl!
