11/27/05 - Natasha has been adopted 11/22/05 - Natasha's foster-to-adopt family has decided to adopt her. Congratulations! 11/11/05 - Natasha has been with us for a week now and after just a few days it felt like she had been with us forever. A few things we learned about Natasha; she is a bit of a beggar when it comes to food. Not that she has taken anything off of a counter or a plate but she will get as close as she can before you tell her no. Fortunately she is very intelligent and responds well to a firm no. Natasha came to us very thin and we are sympathetic to her hunger, already her ribs are slightly less visible. Natasha has put all birds and squirrels in the back yard on notice that this is her yard. It is so fun to watch her prancing around our large yard, it is perfect for her. She is aggressive when it comes to other dogs, she met my sister's 1 1/2 year old male and played well with him outside but once inside she was quite nasty to him. She has met our neighbors dog through the fence and we don't foresee them meeting in person anytime soon. That doesn't bother me though, I'm happy to have a dog that isn't afraid in my house. Please don't get the idea that she is a nasty dog, this girl has sooo much love to give we don't know if we will ever get used to it. She will play rough with my husband and son (which they love) and as soon as you are done you just say okay now and it is all wiggles and kisses. She is not leash trained (and very strong) so that is something to work on. She loves to go for rides in the car and understands exactly what you are saying when you ask her if she wants to go for a ride. Other than that any chance she has to cuddle with you on the couch or bed she is there. Originally our family was looking for a slightly younger dog but we could not have been more wrong. Natasha has the playfulness and stamina of a young dog and the maturity of the older dog that helps her fit easily into our daily routine. 11/5/05 - Last night went just fine. Everybody
slept well after all the excitement last night. She is such a happy,
friendly dog, but so skinny! It just breaks my heart how thin she is.
When she fills out a little bit she is going to be absolutely gorgeous.
We were doing yard work today and she was outside with us the whole time
getting lots of exercise so we will all sleep well tonight too! As far
as this family is concerned so far she is a keeper, if she will have
us.
