7/21/06 - Sorry
it's been so long since my last update. We moved into our new
home in December, the day
before my birthday and Zephyr just loves it here. He has
plenty of room to chase his fur sister
Chyanne around and the two have them have finally become best
friends. We had some harrowing
experiences in the beginning but I think she was still grieving for
her companion at that time. It took
her a good 3 months to grow to like Zephyr and now they have become
inseparable. He is just the
best dog! He absolutely adores our 3 1/2 year old daughter,
they have the best time playing
together. We have completed his obedience training which he
just breezed through. I would like for all
of you to check him out in the calendar he will be Mr. November and
there will also be a photo of
Maxx in the memorial section. I thought it would be great for
the two of them to be in the same
calendar. I have to say that all of you guys were the best in
helping us adopt Zephyr very quickly
after Maxx's passing. He has just melted into our family like
he was with us from the very
beginning of his life. He is an absolute doll and we love him
dearly. I will try and update more often
on him.

This is just a quick note to
thank you all so much for helping us find such a wonderful addition
to our family. Zephyr (aka Thumper) just loves it and we all just
love and adore him. We can't thank you enough, you were all very
helpful and understanding. Here are a couple of pictures of the
happy family

Thumper is such a fabulous dog! We have changed his name to Zephyr
as it means "gentle breeze"
and that is what his is. Fortunately, it sounds very similar to
his previous name so he responds to it very well. He is such a
kind and loving dog. He absolutely adores our almost 3 year old
daughter and is trying his hardest to be friends with Chyanne, his 7
year old sister and even with the cats. Everyone is still a little
unsure about his presence but I am sure they will get better with time.
He acts as though he has been living here all along and fits right in
with our family. He is truly a very fine specimen of the Boxer
breed. His manners have not been bad at all. Carrie must
have done a very good job in the 3 weeks she had him. I have
absolutely no complaints at
all about him and I cannot say enough good things about your
organization. My family is very thankful for the understanding
that your Directors had with out situation in wanting to adopt as soon
as possible due to the loss of our 12 year old Sheperd mix. Our
home is now complete and Zephyr is just the best!!! He
certainly knows that he has found his forever home. Thank you
again for making this happen

- Thumper is on his way home with his new family!
He is going to be extremely happy. He is a very lucky
boy. I wish them all the best but it was love at first sight for
everybody so I am sure things will be great.

Yesterday marked
our 2 weeks with Thumper. He continues to do very well and makes big
improvements with his behavior every day. My husband even said today
that with training he is going to be a great dog as good as our Maddie.
Now mind you Maddie is his girl as far as loves in his life she is my
biggest competition :) He has never compared another dog to her until
tonight so this is saying a lot about Thumper and his potential. Don't
get me wrong he has loved all our fosters of course some more then
others but always treats them equally yet has never compared another dog
to our Maddie. Of course my boy Marco is a tie for me
Thumper has become more relaxed which I am happy about but sometimes
it's hard to see them become so comfy then have to move on. Thumper is
ready to go he is a happy healthy young guy who is going to make someone
very happy. You can't help but love him he is adorable and draws so much
attention. He has beautiful light brown eyes and when he looks at you it
feels like he is looking into your soul and saying thank you for loving
me.

OK Guys what's the
hold up Thumper is waiting for a home to call his own.
We working very hard on his manners and he is doing very well with not
jumping. He continues to be very good with the other dogs and the kids.
One of Thumpers biggest downfalls is he is extremely food motivated he
will get into things that are left out. We are working on that as well
but are at a loss as to what to do exactly besides making sure things
are picked up and put away. Not always the easiest thing to do around
here :)
Thumper is good about going out and he has been doing better in the
crate. We ended up switching he and Marco around and we know put Thumper
in the Vari-Kennel and that seems to be better. However he sleeps just
fine in his wire crate at night. No noise or anything except for the
occasional digging of his pillow to make himself comfy. Of course his
crate is upstairs in the bedroom with us so he is happy about that.
I won't lie and tell you he is perfect but he is a good dog and is
trying really hard to please. He is very lovable and loves to be as
close to you as possible. He is a sweet sweet boy who will give you his
undying love and affection.
Thumper needs work but with consistency and training things will work
out and you will have a great companion and family member.
10/7/05 - Hi everyone
things continue to go well with Thumper. Everyday he is learning a
little more and getting better about things. He is getting really good
about not jumping but he gets himself so darn excited.
He is getting along great with Maddie and Marco and he and Marco play a
lot very vocal and rough and tumble. My neighbors probably think I am
having dog fights over here. Speaking of neighbors my one neighbor who
always happens to be related told me the other day (the one and only
time I put Thumper in the crate) was awful. She said he was making the
most awful noises to the point where she was going to come let him out
and take him to her house till I came back which she offered to do
anytime. David was here but trying to sleep (worked the night before) so
he came down and let him out but she said it was really bad.
Thumper seems to have some separation issues he really doesn't like me
to leave him and he still follows me everywhere though he has started
listening and minding the baby gate and closed doors (bathroom). Every
time I get up he gets up and follows right along then makes himself
comfy wherever I am. He has not been destructive but has to be
redirected to which toys are his and which ones are the kids.
I think the best home for Thumper will have someone home he seems to be
really used to that. Hates the crate during the day but goes in
perfectly at night no whining or crying and sleeps great all night no
messes in the crate or anything. He seems afraid right now that you are
going to leave him. He will need constant reminders that you will be
right back. Today Marco did something bold and I told him I would put
him in his crate and Thumper walked into the crate and stood there. I
had tell him I wasn't talking to him. It's crazy I know but I treat them
like my kids for the most part and I really believe they understand
simple terms that are repeated to them.
Thumper is a good loving boy full of kisses and snuggles and wiggles for
you. He is ready and waiting for that special home that has time to give
him attention to feel secure again. Everyday we see a change in him. He
is so handsome too people just remark at how stunning he is when he is
out with us. Thumper is waiting so whenever your ready he'll be here:)

Hey Thumper here my
foster Mom wants you all to know I am doing really well here. She can't
believe it she says since I have never lived with other dogs. There are
2 other dogs here one is a lot older then me and I don't bother her much
and then there is this pesky fellow who is only 2 months older then me.
I also am staying with 2 skin kids ages 7&3 but boy do they have a lot
of friends coming in and out. I got to go to a soccer game already and
foster Mom says I was really good I also got to walk the oldest kid to
school today. All I kept hearing was Thumper don't jump. That is my one
really bad habit but Mom says that is even getting better already and I
have only been here
3 days. I do steal things off the table so picking up is a must. I have
really bad gas right now because I got a hold of 2 bowls of some yummy
orange stuff they call Mac&Cheese. I sleep great in my crate at night
but hate to be put in it during the day.
I am still learning the ropes around here like the fenced in yard and be
careful with the kids but foster Mom says she is really impressed
already and that you will be too.

- Tall Dark and Handsome seeks women to love and call his own.
Thumper arrived today after an early transport and a trip to a soccer
game we got him home for what I am sure will be a brief stay.
Thumper is absolutely adorable and is already glued to my side he seems
to have taken to me right away and follows me everywhere. As I write
this he is sleeping in a pile of laundry. So far things are going good.
I am saying he is good with other dogs because he seems to be however he
has gone after Marco a few times. On Thumpers behalf he has never lived
with other dogs so all in all he is doing really well. Nothing that a
little work wont cure. I mean he and Marco have already shared a water
bowl. Another bonus for Thumper is he seems good with the cat and I
believe he has never lived with one before. Tasha the kitty came running
in when he was eating he slowly went over to where she was looked at her
and then went back to eating. When she came back through her cat door he
went over again slowly and sniffed her then licked her. Now Tasha still
hisses at Maddie and Marco because they chase her but she seems real
unthreatened by Thumper she didn't even try to get away from him. I am
also saying he is good with kids because he has been good with mine. He
may be a little to much for real little ones. Crawlers or those just
learning to walk. As soon as the kids are on the floor he is on top of
them licking them to death.
We will keep everyone posted on how he does here but if your looking for
a real cutie ask for Thumper by name.
