12/13/05 - Tyson has been adopted 12/11/05 - We had a house full of people last night and Tyson was the center of attention. He only barked a few times as people came in but we ignored him and it stopped. He just loves everyone and when he got tired he went up and got in my bed & went to sleep. He does not get up right away in the morning. He stays in bed till he hears me mixing food in his dish, then he comes down to eat and go out for his walk. We are so pleased with him and he's adjusting so well. he's getting used to going with me in the car & I think he is starting to enjoy it. He now jumps in without any coaxing. He is back to himself after a bout with constipation and ready to go. Have a great holiday & TY sends his big licks....Mary 12/10/05 - Tyson is being adopted by his FTA family. 12/8/05 - Thing's are going great with Tyson. He has really settled in & is already very spoiled. He sleep's with me at night in my bed & snores soooo loud. He has been meeting all the neighbor's & the other dogs & cat's. He love's having run of the house and we have been working a lot with his manners as well as his weight. He gets lots of exercise as well as play time.
12/3/05 -
has proven to be a wonderful dog.
There have been a few instances where the family's 20 month old
toddler, being a typical toddler, looks one way and runs in the
other direction. He has tripped and stepped on Tyson a few times,
and Tyson has showed that he has some discomfort with that. Also the
toddler has used Tyson as a step stool to get up on the couch.
Tyson
has had some x-rays taken on his rear leg when it was noticed that
when he goes to sit, he has to shift his leg a bit to get
comfortable. X-rays showed an arthritic knee joint, and the vet exam
showed some instability in the joint. It is felt that Tyson may have
an old ACL injury, too late, in the vets opinion, to warrant
surgery.
It
is felt that this is probably the reason Tyson has reacted with pain
when he has been tripped over by the toddler. The family loves him
tremendously, but for the safety of all involved, including Tyson,
it is felt he should have a forever home that does not have
toddlers.
9/29/05 -
Tyson is doing great here!! He
loves to play tug-of-war and to roll around on his back in the sun. 9/18/05 - Tyson has been adopted by his foster-to-adopt family. Congratulations to all. 8/11/05 - Tyson is pending adoption. This is a successful Foster-to-Adopt placement. A happy Tyson will be staying with his new family. Congratulation and good luck to all. 8/1/05 - Tyson was a Long Island owner surrender that was placed with a family who had been approved to adopt through BAR and who are participating in a new program called Foster-to-Adopt. We have more dogs needing to come into rescue than we have foster homes available, so we are placing owner surrenders with approved families that are willing to foster them with the option of adopting them. The family has 2 weeks to decide if they want to adopt the dog, and, if not, they agree to continue to foster the dog until it is adopted out to another family. This helps save more dogs and gives families the opportunity to get to know a dog before deciding to adopt them.
