12/22/07 - Brodie has been adopted

12/18/07 - Brodie is pending adoption

12/7/07 - Brodie started playing outside with us last week. We actually got to see him run around finally.
He reminds me of a big puppy, he makes me laugh when he runs after the toys. We haven't been
getting in our daily walks seeing we have snow and the sidewalks aren't plowed. We are going to have to
take them somewhere where they are so they can release some energy though.
Brodie has had some disagreements with my male recently. So, he would probably do best as the only
male dog in the house. He gets along fine with my female and has had no problems with her.
Brodie is still a wonderful dog that can't wait to find his forever home.

11/23/07 - Hi everyone.... My name is Brodie and I wanted to tell everyone all about me and my days here in my foster home. Everyday I get to eat here at my foster home three times a day and I eat everything up really fast. My foster mom doesn't let us play after we eat so I usually go take a nap. Then we get to go on a walk, the weather has been good so we have been going for a walk almost everyday.
On the weekends we walk all together. During the week, I get to go on walks with just my foster mom and sometimes with my foster brother too. I like to walk with foster brother. I play more with my foster sister, she likes to play alot but she's only 1. She likes to steal the toy that I am playing with and I let her- I never get mad at her. I really like to play fetch with my foster mom and dad in the house. They call me super boy cause I listen and when they call for me I come righ away. When I have to go in the crate, I love my peanut butter kong that keeps me busy while they are gone. I get sooo excited when they come home though. I really like to be with them while they
are home and usually follow them around the house. When they sit on the couch I like to go and sit with them and my foster brother and sister. We sleep all together in the bed every night. I love my foster home but I am looking forward to going to my forever home. Love, B

11/14/07 - Brodie is still doing wonderful and I still have only positive things to say about him. He's even taught our dog to play fetch!!! He seems to have become more comfortable here and has started sitting closer to us on the couch and is now sleeping in the bed. But he will go sleep in his dog bed every now and then. He is still eating great and will run for his crate when I get a frozen peanut butter kong out. We have been taking daily walks and he still walks great. My female gets him to play with her more and more. Of course, she's hard to ignore when she wants someone to play.  Brodie has also started doing a little dance when we let him out of the crate when we get home. It is so cute to watch, it always makes me laugh and of course just love him more.

11/6/07 - Brodie is still doing great. He is starting to play with the toys more. He will go get a new one from the basket and bring it to me when he wants some attention. He has found a favorite though and he has been carrying it with him everywhere the last two days. My female likes to take it from him every now and then and he is fine with that. He is also playing with her more and more each day as well.
After his walk I have been leaving him out downstairs by himself while I am walking my dogs. He has not chewed on anything. I think he mostly just sits and looks out the window because that is usually where I see him when I am coming back.
Today it was a rain/snow mix outside so we didn't walk. Instead I took him to meet someone new and he was great. He has not jumped on anyone he has met, he just stands and lets them pet him.
I also took him to meet some cats and he really only wanted to see the white one. The other ones he was interested in but didn't try to chase them. His previous family reported that he was not good with cats but we wanted to test it ourselves.
I still have only wonderful things to say about Brodie. He is one great boxer!!!

10/31/07 - Brodie continues to be a great house guest. All the dogs are spending time together when we are home and are getting along really well. He is even starting to play alittle more with them but not too much yet. Yesterday I took him on a playdate with a female austrailian shepard. Intros went good but Brodie never played with her. He just wandered around the yard. I don't think that he is used to running and playing with other dogs but I'm sure we can teach him before he leaves.
The other evening Brodie showed us how high he can jump. I was out in the yard with him and my husband came home. Brodie was so excited to see him that he ran to the gate to wait for him. When he got close he jumped straight up 4 feet. He usually doesn't get that excited just a few wiggles so he really surprised us.
He seems to be getting more comfortable here and will stay where he is if you go into another room now. He is still sleeping in the dog bed at night but yesterday I read my book in bed and all the dogs layed down together with me.
He is eating really good here as well. We add wet food, yogurt, and beef sometimes and he of course really enjoys that. The weather has been nice so he has been getting daily walks. We have had no problems with him, he is just such a good boy. He finally gave me hugs last night and a couple kisses. If you kneel and tap your shoulders, he'll put his front paws on your shoulders. He is so gentle about it for his size. My dogs weigh almost 20 lbs less than he does and they practically knock me over.
Brodie is an exceptional dog that will make his forever home very happy.

10/28/07 - We have decided that Brodie is super dog. He is just doing wonderful!! He's finally starting to play more and actually plays fetch really good. He listens when we call for him to come and sit and release. Yesterday, he went on two walks with our dogs (male and female) and they all walked side by side with no problems. Inside he is a little wary when they start playing and backs away somewhat. But in the next few days I'm sure he'll be playing along with them. At night he now sleeps in the same room as us on a dog bed. He would be allowed to sleep in the bed but he seems to prefer the dog bed. He has shown us no negative behavior. He has barked only once and that was when I didn't let him out of the crate when I got home soon enough for him. We even clean his ears every night and put drops in them and he just stands there and lets us do it with no problem. Brodie is just a super sweet boxer that we just love.

10/24/07 - Brodie continues to be his calm and sweet self. He hasn't really shown much interest in playing.   We have baskets of toys all over the house and he hasn't tried playing with any of them. I got him playing a little bit the other day but that's about it. We have even let him wander the yard and he doesn't run around just walks slowly. Of course, that could all change once he gets to be around our dogs or maybe he's just a calm boy.
Yesterday it rained all day so I couldn't take him on a walk. So, I had my sister stop by to meet him. He was really good, it takes him a minute to warm up though. But he didn't try to jump on her, he just stood there and let her pet him. By the time she left he was laying on his back getting his belly rubbed.
He definitely likes to be around people. Whenever I have to leave him in a room when I come back he is waiting at the door. He even follows me to the basement something my dogs rarely do because of the way the stairs are.
I can not say enough good things about this boy. He is smart, gentle for his size, a great walker and content to just be near you.

10/22/07 - Brodie is doing great here. He is a super sweet boy. So far, we haven't heard him bark and he only whines for a couple minutes when we put him in the crate at night. We went on a walk this morning and he did great. We even passed some cats and he didn't try to chase after them. We played with a toy yesterday and every time I said release he would immediately drop it.  (We hope he can teach our dogs how to do that so good while he is here) He seems to be just a mellow boxer that likes to be in the same room as you are and look out the window.

10/21/07 - Brodie arrived yesterday. We picked him up in Syracuse and he was a very good boy in the car. When
we arrived home we took him for a long walk and he was great on the leash. My parents stopped by while we were outside with him and he was very calm when meeting them. He did not try to jump and he let them pet him. While we chatted in the house he stayed next to me and my husband and was relaxed. When you say Brodie come he will come right to you. Seeing he was neutered on Friday we let him rest for the rest of the evening.
This morning Brodie seemed to have a bit more energy and was wagging his tail a lot more. Seeing it is a beautiful day here we took him for a long walk and introduced him to our dogs. We walked them one by one behind each other and allowed them to sniff one another and slowly got them walking side by side. He was great with both our female and male. They seemed to be more interested in him then he was in them though. Everything went very smoothly. We will continue to keep them separated til he heals from the neuter but so far he seems to be fine with both.
Brodie is a wonderful big boy. We love him already.

10/20/07 -Brodie found his boxer wiggles when he woke up!  He was like a different boy...while he's still restrained in his affection, he definitely remembered me from last night and followed me all over the house while I was preparing to leave for his transport.  Brodie rode like a trooper in the car and was very sweet with my friend Kris who came along for the ride. (Kris adopted Seamus...she just can't get enough Boxers!).  We met Sandy and he was very patient while we caught up with each other.  Then he was off to meet Christine and Matthew.  Very nice boy.  Oh, another thing...he scaled my 3' dutch door like it was nothing...there will be no baby gates for him!

10/19/07 - Brodie is safe and sound for the night!  He's had quite a day...poor guy...he was surrendered this morning to the vet, had his neuter, was stuffed in a Mini Cooper for the ride to his temporary foster home and will be off to Christine and Matthews in the AM.  What a cutie...Big Boxer head...fawn with a gorgeous black mask and natural ears...very subdued but sweet.  He's napping in the den now, oblivious to my little fur kids running around on the other side of the door.  Just wanted everyone to know he's off on a new adventure...I'm thinking he's going to be very much loved by some lucky family!!!  Gail
