12/07 - Kaly has been adopted.

9/07 - Kaly is pending adoption with her FTA Family

8/10/07 - Kaly is doing wonderful & is adjusting well here. It is fun watching her discover the world as her background was one that didn't allow this. When she came she would only play with one toy now she regularly tips over the toy box & removes several at a time. She is a very loving dog & follows me everywhere although in the last couple days  I think she is showing signs of realizing I am coming back when I leave. She was spayed last week & has recovered well. Today I took her running for the 1st time & she seemed to enjoy it. She only did 1 mile but I hope to get her up to more. Kaly is a great dog & I am very grateful to all the BAR volunteers who rescued her & brought her to me. I can't wait to finalize her adoption.

8/9/07 - Here are some pics of Kaly to enjoy. She has been a absolute angel & very loving. She is eating well, sleeping the night, & I started today to let her loose in the yard with me while she still has her 30ft leash attached to her. She chases down her toy & is starting to bring it back to me for another throw. She is starting to play with toys other than her beloved blue ball. I even caught her today tipping over the toy box to see what 's in it. She follows me everywhere & I couldn't ask for a better companion.
The only scare she has given me was Friday morning when I ran out to get a crate for her. I had tested her earlier by leaving her inside by herself to see how she handled it. She was scratching doors ,etc so I decided to get a crate. I left her downstairs in 4 spacious rooms & she scratched open the window screen & jumped out the window. Fortunately my neighbor got her & put her on my porch until I got back which was a trip of less than1 hr. I went out for a hour today to see how she did in the crate & she was sleeping soundly when I got back.

8/2/07 - Well, I packed Princess Kaly's goody bag and off we went to meet her new foater-to-adopt mom. We took the scenic route through the countryside. It was a nice drive and saved about 35 miles. But took just as long! Kaly didn't quite know what to think. I hope she has settled in with Abby and will have a wonderful life from today onward.  Her thyroid test did come back today; it was low and she will be on medication 2x daily. The good thing is that it is only $13 for a 3 month supply. This explains a lot and I think will make a big difference.

7/31/07 - Kaly in her room resting after her spay surgery yesterday. Doesn't she look comfy? She's walking a bit suck-up today and a bit upset with me. Ate a bit this a.m.

7/30/07 - The vets office just called. Kaly came through the spay just fine. Things looked just as they should on the inside. Her RBCs are at low normal.  Jake and I had them all the dogs together outside yesterday. As long as we keep on eye on her, there is no problems. I think that I may be the catalyst for her dislike of my boys. As soon as I got home last night, she shot Mikey the evil eye. So the gates went back up! I borrowed a crate this a.m. to facilitate her recovery.

7/24/07 - Kaly's has been here at the Boxer Boot Camp for 4 days now. She is quite a petite little girly that was surrendered to BAR as her owners couldn't find living arrangements that would accept dogs. As the first 24 hours wound down, I just had a "gut" feeling that Kaly wasn't feeling very well.  The vet confirmed my feelings when we discovered that she is severely anemic, is running a fever and has some weakness in her rear. The weakness could be from being tied outside for the past four months with a very heavy tow chain. Her nutrition was the not best, so we're hoping that some really good quality food will help with her blood count. She has met my 3 big goofy boys through the gates with limited success. Since she was with another boxer, I'm unsure why she's pulled an "attitude" with these guys, so for her safely I'll keep them separated for now. It's quite possible that she just feels crabby from being run down. Kaly just loves me and is slowly showing some of that great boxer enthusiasm about her surroundings. Kaly is a cute lil' gal and certainly deserves a great home so she can blossom and bloom into the boxer she was always meant to be. As soon as her blood levels rise, she can be spayed and on her way!

7/20/07 - One of our long time volunteers came to the rescue of Kaly on a moments notice.  Thank you so much Robin for stepping in an temporarily fostering this little girl.
