Adoption Donation $300

10/9/07 - Molson was adopted this past Saturday by a nice gentleman and his son. They drove all the way up
to me from Bay Shore, NY. Molson was definitely not on his best behavior because of the "new" people in the house. He was all over them, and I mean that exactly how it sounds. He tackled poor Roy in my recliner and started climbing all over him, up and over his head and everywhere in between. Fortunately Roy and his son decided to take him home considering how "excited" he was. I think with some training he will make a great addition to their family. Thank you Roy and enjoy your new friend, he is a great boy and will be missed by my husband and I
 (and our 2 bullmastiffs).

10/3/07 - Molson is pending adoption

8/31/07 - Mr. Molson has been doing great! We have just been hanging out and enjoying the nice weather. The
introduction to my 2 Bullmastiffs went good. My female just wanted to play with him and kept bouncing circles around Molson, but he just stood there and looked at her like she was crazy. I don’t think he knows how to interact with other dogs, it seems confusing to him. But we work on that every day. He is such a sweet boy, when he is let out of his crate either in the morning or when I come home from work he acts like you just woke him up from a sound sleep until you get that crate door open and then he is out like a rocket! He bolts around the room and then bends himself in half and walks towards you wiggling all the way! He is so happy to be in the company of people. He cornered one of my cats the other day, and the only thing that concerned me is that the cat was obviously terrified and Molson put his face down on top of the cats back and when the cat ran, I don’t know if he played too hard with his mouth or what but the cats back was wet and his fur was ruffled… but Molson understands firm correction, may have to be repetitive but he understands. He also likes to sit, when you go put his leash on he sits, when you go take his leash off he sits, when you use a firm voice with him he sits, and he always looks to you for guidance. Sweet, sweet, sweet boy…..either today or this long weekend I’m going to take him to the lake across the
street and see if he knows what swimming is, should prove to be interesting. I will also work on getting some more recent pictures. More updates to come!

8/9/07 - Well, Molson keeps on amazing me! I introduced him to my 2yr old female Bullmastiff last night and he did great. I wasn't really worried about him, but she can be somewhat dominant. They both sniffed for a while, and then a while longer. Molson looked like he didn't know quite what to do, so when my female got down in the play/bow position Molson did probably the only thing he knew how to do, tried to get on top of my female. I corrected him and that was the end of that. She was still bouncing around on the floor and Molson was looking at her like she was crazy. So round one went well. Time for round two. I put my female away and got my big (160lb) male who fortunately is deaf. They sniffed, and sniffed and sniffed. Then my male went to sniff Molson's face and Molson jumped at him growling. We pulled the 2 in separate directions, let them see each other and brought  them together again and after a while Molson just laid down on the floor like he was bored. So all  in all I'd say he would be good around other dogs with the proper introduction. We did find out  that when the cats run and he chases them it is like a game to him. He will chase the kitty until he corners them, then he will make noise with his paws to get the kitty to run again! It is real funny to watch! He does know "NO" and usually stops what he is doing and looks at you, bends himself in half and comes to your feet wiggling his little butt the whole way!

8/8/07 - Correction to the last update....he was 3 weeks past his treatment.
Well now he is at the 4 week mark! Woo Hoo! He is doing just great. I will introduce him to my 2 bullies during this week, one at a time of course. I will also give him a longer lead to see what he does when he wants to "chase" the kitty. He is absolutely perfect when the cat is standing still and he can sniff'em, and if the cat walks away he is fine.....but if the cat runs he is right behind sliding on the tile and wood floor all the way, dragging me behind him! When he plays, he plays with his paws, striking you with them and with claws like eagle talons it can get quite painful. He loves kids and everyone he meets and everyone loves him too, but because he can be over playful I think a home with older children would be better for everyone, at lease until he gets some training under him. Think I will also take him for a car ride this weekend, he absolutely LOVES car rides, he is a perfect gentleman in the passenger seat of my pickup truck, he can jump all the way up into the seat without any help, so he could easily jump a fence if not high enough. I will update soon as to how he does with my 2 dogs (I have one male and one female) and the cats. I say again, he is a big love bug!!! He will make someone or some family very happy.

8/2/07 - Well today Molson is 2 weeks past his heartworm treatment. He is doing great! I still have him confined to a crate for his recovery time and you can tell it is hard for him and for me to see the pathetic look on his face when he is in there. When I let him out to eat or to take him outside to do his business he grabs his Kong and darts around me throwing it up in the air initiating play. I feel terrible that I have to take it from him but I know it is for his own good. So hopefully in another 2 weeks or so he can resume his normal activity, which is a mystery to me. I think he is going to wear me out when that time comes! He has had countless run ins with one out of my three cats, he runs over to him to sniff and then turns to walk away, but if the cat runs he will chase. He only wants to play! He has cornered the cat a couple of times and just gets into the bow/play position bouncing around trying to get the cat to run! So all in all he is a good pup! I have my Sister in-law and my 15 month old niece coming up from Texas coming up Thursday so we will see how he does with small children, I don’t for see any issues with anything with this boy, he just wants to be part of the family!

7/15/07 - What a big love bug! Molson is still recovering from his heartworm treatment and is just starting to get his personality and spunk back. It has been a rough few days, he has been ever so sore and if you even touched him he would scream in pain, enough to break my heart....but that little nub of a tail never stopped! He loves car rides so much that whenever I would take him out to do his business we had to go past my truck, well, he thought we were going for a "car ride" and would literally drag me to the passenger door, and just look up at me with this goofy face as if he were saying "open the door already", like we were going somewhere! We had a run in with one of my cats earlier this weekend, we had just headed back to the house after he took care of business outside and when I opened the door there was my crazy cat....Molson immediately froze and crouched down to the ground like he was stalking him, almost like a pointer would do in the field, one leg up and all....I let him sniff the kitty and he did ever so gently and to my amazement after he got enough
smelling, Molson turned and walked away! I was so pleased with him. I think he will do fine with anything and everything but as I have said before, I will test him with the cats, dogs and children after he fully recovers from treatment. So another few weeks and I'll be able to tell all about his true personality! I do not think there will be any disappointments here, he is a big loveable bonehead that wants nothing more than to be with someone that he can sit on and that will pat him!
More updates to come.....

7/11/07 - Molson just finished his heartworm treatment this morning! Now it is time to limit his activity to relax and recoop, good luck! He is a very up beat pup! He loves his people and if you sit on he floor with him he will stand over you and put all his weight against you. He is a big love bug! Wherever you are is where he wants to be. He is a little nervous with going in a crate but with a little positive reinforcement (treats!) he slowly makes his way in and once he is in there he is content. After he "recovers" from the treatment we will be working on his leash manners, he wants so very badly to please but was never given the tools to do so.  He has seen my cats in passing and just crouches down and stares at them. Again after his recovery from the heartworms he will be introduced to the cats and to my 2 Bullmastiffs. With his outgoing personality I think he will do just fine! He needs a home that is going to enforce boundaries because with a face as sweet as his it is easy to give in. To sum up Molson......he is a big pile of mush and wants nothing more than to be with you, with training he will make someone a fantastic companion.

From Molsen's Transporters:
Molson is a sweety.  He rode very well in the car and while we were waiting at the transfer point for Vanessa, he started to get playful, grabbing the leash in his mouth and jumping around.  He doesn't act sick at all.  When he saw Vanessa he ran to her and dragged me to her vehicle and jumped right in the back.  He's going to make a forever family very happy.   Tricia
