3/08 - Today is Roo's 1st birthday.  We thought you might like to see her at her party.
She's doing great!  She's up to 45 lbs, still non-stop, will do anything for a tennis ball, loves running on the beach with our other dogs and her friends Maddy and Lucy (yellow labs who live on the ocean).
We have a Blue Heron who terrorizes out Koi pond in the yard and she is our key defense....she knows he's around before he even lands.  She sleeps in our bed.........bad habit but she just too hard to refuse and she still curls up pretty small.  She's so smart and wonderful.....Her digestive situation is doing great too.

4/10/08 - Roo is now 13 months old and is doing great.  She slowly put on a little weight when we figured
out the right food for her and she was finally able to be spayed last month.  She is the most
mannerly dog!  Sits and waits patiently for everything.....a ball, stuffed animal, dinner.  She is also
and amazingly fast learner. We all love her so much, she makes us laugh and smile every day!

11/12/07 - We can already tell what a special and wonderful dog Roo is.  She's so well behaved and so far is adapting very nicely.  The ferry ride home was uneventful.  The five of us stayed in the car figuring it would be one less "new thing" for her to deal with today.  She slept on my son's lap the whole ride.
When we got home we walked her and then had the other dogs meet up with us.  We walked them all for about 1 1/2 miles and they were great together.  When we returned to the house we set the 3 of them loose in the yard.  They romped and played ( she is SOOOO FAST!) and had a great time exhausting each other.  All of the pictures I took of them playing and chasing are just a blurr.
We have a tennis court in the back end of our yard and Roo was on a mission to find every tennis ball that went a stray over the last few months.  Jackson (our bullie) and Roo are nicely sharing toys.  He's fond of her horse and she's walking around with a crunchy stuffed opossum that looks like road kill.
We picked up a rotisserie chicken and steamed up some rice...........so far so good.  She ate (FAST) and is now in the living room where a fire is being built for princess Roo.
Thank you for giving us your wonderful puppy.  I know its only been 6 or 7 hours that we've known her but I'm sure it will be a happily ever after situation.

11/11/07 - Roo has been adopted

11/2/07 - Roo is pending adoption

10/13/07 - Roo has been here for two weeks now and she is doing great.  She still has diarrhea and we are currently giving her a 3 day deworming medication in hopes that it will clear up.  We also have her on a chicken and rice diet.  She has a very healthy appetite.  Once the diarrhea clears up she has an appointed to be spayed and she will be ready for a forever family.  Roo has been doing great in her crate.  She will bark a little when she first goes in, but quickly quiets down and sleeps through the night.  She has not had an accident in the crate in over a week.  I wouldn't say she was completely potty trained yet, but oh so close! Roo walks very well on a lead.  She can also be let off lead and comes when she is called.  Last weekend it was so beautiful outside and our entire neighborhood was outside enjoying the day.  Roo played in the front yard and just about every kid in the neighborhood came over to play with her.  She was so good with the kids.  Our 3 year old next door neighbor could take the ball from her mouth while playing fetch.  She laid in the grass and let them all rub and pet her and grab her toys.  She is getting along well with our dogs here.
She is just a puppy and sometimes I think our resident dogs want to tell her to take a rest.  She is constantly on the move and can be a little mischievous or curious :) at times.  She is a beautiful sweet little girl who loves to play. Roo is waiting to find a forever family to take her home.

10/2/07 - BAR's newest superstar has just arrived! While out for a walk yesterday an individual surrendered his boxer to us (very long story).  What he gave us is a wonderful, seven month old, fawn boxer.  For all of you out there looking for a spunky puppy Roo is your girl!  She has two speeds... play and sleep.  After Roo joined us we walked a few laps around the neighborhood with our pack.  She was very excited to meet her foster siblings and tried to play with the other dogs anytime she got the chance.  Once we were back home she played with our dogs in the backyard for about an hour.  During feeding she ate about half her bowl of puppy food.  The rest must have given her back her hunger... because she cleaned her bowl during today's meals.  Last night Roo slept in the crate.  A little barking at first  but then went to sleep and did not make another sound till morning.  She has had a couple of accidents, but they are kind of expected since she is a puppy in a new place.  We have a feeling it will not take her long to learn.  She is a very smart puppy and is anxious to please.  Roo knows how to sit and shake for a treat.  Whichever family is lucky enough to adopt her will certainly have a wonderful puppy on their hands!!!
