10/08 - Ivy has been adopted
9/1/08 - Ivy is pending adoption
8/08 - Ivy's family had a
Boxer who passed away. A friend found Ivy and thought she would be a
good fit for the family. But the older son in the family has special
needs (just recently discovered) and Ivy needs a lot more attention than
this family can give.
Lives with two boys, six and five. The older one can be a little rough
with Ivy and she has NO reaction. She thinks he's playing. Kris and his
wife try to watch over the situations and remove the kid, but Ivy is
great with the kids at all times.
Ivy likes to run around and play. She can be rambunctious and has a lot
of energy. She knows basic commands and is crate trained, but will still
sometimes jump on on people.
The family indicated a few 'issues' -- she jumps the fence if no one is
outside with her. She will also chew when she's bored. The "obsessing
over table scraps" thing struck me strangely, so I asked about it. She
is very fixated on "people food" as she obviously was indulged before
this family got her. Some training should fix this.
She would be a great dog for an active home and we think most of her
'issues' stem from not being able to burn off her energy.
