11/08 - Phoebe has been adopted

10/13/08 - Phoebe is pending adoption

9/28/08 - Phoebe came in our home from being in a shelter but settled right in the first night she was here. It has been 3 days and 3 nights. This girl is truly our Boxer Angel. Phoebe is terrific. It seems she has some training already. She sits, stays & comes when called. She also knows to go to the door when she has to do her business..Let me tell you, that alone makes it so much easier to do further training.

The crate isn't her best friend but she goes in it when necessary. The first night she whimpered. We immediately put the radio and a night light on, then she slept like a baby. I have never seen a dog adjust so fast as Phoebe has. We lost our Boxer Jake of 13 yrs  just a little while ago but Phoebe has taken over his bed as if it were hers.

Phoebe has grown attached to me and follows me everywhere. My 8yr old daughter is trying to change that. She would love for Phoebe to follow her but I told her that will be her job. To train her further, so this process will be fun to watch.  I finally caved in last night and allowed Phoebe to sleep upstairs in my bedroom. She slept on her bed on the floor and didn't get up until it was time to do her business. We went out @ 6am and came right back to bed. She slept like a little girl until I got up.  Tonight I will allow her to sleep in my daughters room and see if she sleeps through the night again.

Phoebe was well worth the wait.

9/23/08 - Phoebe has found a foster-to-adopt home!!

9/19/08 - From Gary: I met Phoebe tonight, a VERY sweet and timid girl. Poor thing, while I was taking pic's of her she was quivering. She is estimated to be about 1 yr, which I believe to be pretty accurate.  She was found on the streets as a stray, has some gashes on her leg, although it does not appear serious.
I walked her around, she met a few dogs with no reaction, and walked her past the cats too. One of them swiped at her and she shrieked, wanting nothing to do with the cats. So maybe she would also be OK with them.
We didn't want to stress her out too much, so we pretty much kept the testing down to a minimum. She was loving the loving we gave her, but I could not get any tail wagging from her. Oh, she has a full tail too :o))
She will be spayed on Saturday and then ready for rescue. Please email me directly if you can offer help for her, she certainly is a very deserving girl. It will be great watching this girl blossom and become the bouncing boxer babies we all know and love so much. Can you help her get there?

9/17/08 - Phoebe is just a baby!  She is about a year old and a stray.  She is in a shelter and would love to find a loving foster or FTA home.
