11/21/09 - Otis has been adoped!!

11/21/09 - Well, Otis had a big day at the vet yesterday...in addition to being neutered, he was also brought up to date on all of his shots. He did well, we were told, and he is now recovering peacefully at home.

11/18/09 - Bronx now name Otis is pending adoption

11/11/09 - Bronx continues to adapt very nicely to his new surroundings. He has now had several occasions to be around other dogs, kids, and adults. He enjoyed "trick or treating" with us on Halloween, meeting many different dogs and kids along the way. Bronx was a perfect gentleman with all he encountered! He, not only tolerated others petting him but, wiggled with delight. Bronx has also had occasion to "meet and greet" several visitors to our home. He can still become a bit excited (jumpy) upon arrival but soon settles down. Bronx is now completely adjusted to his crate, going in at night on his own. Bronx continues to put on weight; still enthusiastically eating but, also allowing our 10 year old toy poodle to eat from his bowl! He is also now able to "wait" for his food. He is really doing well learning all the basic commands. Bronx is really just a sweetheart of a dog. He LOVES to give kisses and we love him right back!

11/1/09 - Bronx has been with us for about a week now and has, so far, been a wonderful house guest, although he is still working on developing his "manners". He can jump a bit when first meeting new people. He also sometimes barks when he gets excited but, he is genuinely just happy so be around people and other dogs. We have also been working on basic commands with Bronx (sit, stay, wait) and he is making steady progress. He is becoming more comfortable walking on a leash and now goes into his crate with little resistance. Bronx has had no accidents in the house and sleeps peacefully all through the night. He is eating well (which is good because he needs to gain quite a bit of weight) and is enjoying playing outside in the yard. Bronx is just as sweet as can be. We are so glad that he has come to stay with us!
