11/28/09 - Butcus has been adopted!!

11/17/09 - Butcus made his first trip to Petco the other day, and he did GREAT!! J I’m surprised, because he didn’t strike me as the shopping type, yet as soon as we went in, he wanted to go up & down EVERY AISLE!!! So, as we meandered down the aisles he MADE SURE to say hello to everyone, big & small, fur & no fur! And lots of people left the aisle feeling special from their very own Butcus kiss! He’s a charmer like that!!
Also, while we were there, we had his nails clipped, and he did great! The guy really liked him there. Mostly anyone who meets this guy say 2 main things, 1) he is gorgeous & 2) he’s such a sweet & happy boy. That sums this guy up. Totally loves people of all sizes. Of course he’s a little big for smaller children, but otherwise, he’ll just bathe em in kisses.
He gets a little pushy with his foster sister, and needs to be reminded that in this house we share everything, sometimes, his game consists of taking any toy Angel wants to play with, but I guess that’s pretty typical, lol. Overall, he’s a pleasure. J

10/14/09 - Hi everyone!! J Butcus is doing GREAT!!! He’s working hard and getting himself ready for his forever home. He really has come a long way in a short time!! He knows his basic commands, and less of the selective hearing J so he’s got his commands down. Both paws, he’s VERY proud of that!!! And he still jumps, but it’s a much gentler jump J We’re still working on him not jumping at all, but he’s a young, super happy guy, so sometimes he just cant help it.
Butcus is just a HUGE mush!!!! He loves playing with his bones, and his foster sister. He doesn’t exactly enjoy going into the kennel, but once he’s in, he gives a few barks, and settles down GREAT! No problems at all in the crate. So that’s always a good thing. We’re still working on his leash manners, but it will come In time. With this guy, onc he got used to the routine, he’s just happy 24/7. Always looking to get loving. Any visitors are greeted with tons of Butcus loving! Don’t think you can come in the house without saying hello to this big guy, cause he’ll just sit on your lap until you do. Lol. And bury you in big kisses. Total sweetheart.
Butcus LOVES EVERYONE!! Unfortunately because he’s just a young happy go lucky guy, little kids probably aren’t the best fit for him, only because of his size, and although he really is trying hard with the jumping, but he can just get so excited, that in the process he may accidentally knock a small child over. But if you’re a family with bigger kids, Butcus would LOVE IT! Friends to play with and sleep with (maybe) J that would be this boys dream! Basically anywhere that Butcus is able to be exercised, and loved, he’ll fit right in! So get those apps in for this guy, he may be a mix, but he’s a FANTASTIC pup! J

9/14/09 - Butcus is a happy go lucky pup!!! Definitely very puppy-like, and it’s kind of cute, because he’s a big boy. As you can see from his little video clip, he gets along great with my female boxer. They’ve been best friends from day one. Butcus is crate trained, and a very good boy during the day while he’s crated. No excessive barking, or break out attempts, he just hangs and waits for you to come home. Once you’re home though, it’s like he’s on "go" for quite some time, haha. He has a lot of energy so, a Furbrother or fursister may be great to help him drain some excess energy. He needs work on the leash, basically…..he pulls. J So, we’re working on that, but he was never taught how to walk on a leash, so its understandable.

He loves being around people, and extremely friendly to all of our visitors, he does jump, so we’re working on that also, but he’s starting to get it. We just turn our backs on him and say down, and once he’s down in a sit we will pet him. Again, if he wasn’t taught these things, it does take some time for them to catch on, and Butcus is doing a good job. Overall, he’s just a big mush, thinks he’s a lap dog, and at times, I think he believes he’s a comedian…;) If you’re looking for a pup that is full of life, Oh and also LOVES TO SWIM, here’s your boy!!!! J

9/4/09 - This is Butcus :) He is a BOXER MIX, and striking!! Such a beatiful boy.  Total puppy playfulness.  He grew up in a home with children ages 18-2yrs old, as well as cats.  He's 14 months old and he's looking for his forever home :)

This boy is lacking in manners like most "big" puppies, but a total mush and sweetheart!  He's great with my female boxer, after intro's they were fast friends.  :)  Share his toys no problem, not food aggressive, basically he's an all around great boy.  We're working on his manners, and teaching him that in the car......he cant drive, and needs to stay in the back, hahaha.  Im thinking it may take a few days for him to get that concept.   Right now, he only knows sit.  But we're working on it, and Im sure in no time this guy will be up to speed with his manners and basic commands.  Oh, also, he loves the pool.  When I went to pick him up today, I put on his leash, and he headed staright to the built in pool for one last swim before he starts his new life!  So if you're looking for a dog that will make use of your pool......Butcus volunteers to get in there!!! :)

We'll let you know how he's doing in a few days, but if you're looking for a pup that is full of life and exuberant...get thos apps in b/c Butcus will not disappoint!
