12/5/09 - Max has left for his forever home.
He couldn't wait to get in the car. I know he'll be really happy
there.
12/1/09 - Mini Max is pending adoption!
11/23/09 - We picked up Max Saturday and he
is adorable. His pictures don't do him justice. I will say that on
first meeting he can be a little overwhelming with his excitement
but he does calm down. He wants to play, play, play. He does
definitely know his commands but tries to see what he can get away
with. Max just needs someone who is willing to put in the "normal"
amount of effort and let him know what is allowed and what is not.
Within a day and a half he is already showing us that he understands
what play is allowed inside and what is
not. All it took was being told no firmly, telling him outside and
taking him there. This has made a HUGE difference in how he plays
in the house. Of coarse, he is still a puppy and from time to time
the excitement overtakes him and gets a little rambunctious. We
have touched him everywhere, taken toys and food away from him . He
is very docile and shows no signs of aggression. As far as food
goes, he has pushed my dog out of the way and she has pushed him out
of the way to get each others food with no signs of aggression.
They have
shared water bowls without incident also. The have been sharing toys
for two days now (both playing with the same one at the same time).
He seems to get a little
separation anxiety
when he is in his crate and drools. When you come home he is so
happy to see you. Last night he was able to sleep in the house
instead of his crate. He did very well and did not get into
anything. The only thing that he did was get up off of his pillow
in our bed room and made his way to the couch. That is where we
found him this morning.
Max is such a clown sometimes he will get you laughing so hard.
Like when he was sitting on our hard wood floor and his butt slide
out from him....it resulted in some sort of a flip. He rides in the
car well and settles down within minutes. We think he may like the
bath but we do not have a definite answer on this yet. While my
husband was trying to give my dog, Tigger, a bath Max couldn't get
close enough.

11/17/09 - Max is such a
great pup!!! J He really is. He’s been
a pleasure to have this week, and we have laughed so much thanks to
this little guy! Unfortunately, we need to move him to a new foster
home this weekend, DEFINITELY not because of anything he did, only
because we have 4 other boxers at the house, and this little guy
deserves some more attention. And some less time in a crate.
J His new foster home will have one
other dog for him to play with, so I’m pretty sure he’ll be very
happy!!! And we know its best for him, because he’s so young, he
needs that one on one time.
We only call him "Mini Max" Because we have another Max in the
house, so mini max is only to decipher between the two Max’s, lol.
He’s definitely not Mini per say. He looks like he’s going to be a
big boy. So don’t confuse the name with his actual size, hahaha.
This little guy really is hilarious, he LOVES playing with Joey, and
will even go to the other guys if they’re in their kennels, and he
starts play bowing and talking to them. It’s VERY cute! He plays
hard, and he’ll follow Joey from room to room, and you can just tell
he adores the company of a fur-brother, or sister.
He has a great appetite. Totally housebroken. Not one accident since
he came on Friday night. And even when we go outside, you have to
remind him to "go potty", otherwise he kind of looks at you,
like...well??! LOL. He will counter surf, and he knows he shouldn’t
but he’ll still try. He loves playing with pretty much anything.
Last night it was a squeaky ball, this morning is was a leash he
found. J That’s the best part,
watching him come prancing into the living room, with his head up
and he’s so proud of himself, ADORABLE! J
He does know his basic commands. Oh and like most dogs, he LOVES the
car. J Has his head way out of the
window, and just loves it. He’s a very confident little guy. And he
LOVES being told when he does a good job. :)
In only a week, he has touched our hearts, and gave us so many
smiles and laughs. He is going to make a family very happy. And we
LOVED being able to hang with him this week, so thanks little guy!!!
J
11/16/09 - Heres another video of the little guy...
he's a cutie :)
