12/3/09 - Merdock left with his forever family today.  He is a sweet boy and I am VERY happy  that he has found a home for the holidays.  Best of luck to the big guy and his new family.

11/30/09 - Merdock is pending adoption

11/19/09 - Ahhh folks if you could only know Merdock like we know Merdock.  Merdock is the kind of guy that crawls up into you lap on the couch and closes those big brown eyes in pure bliss as you hold his sweet face in your hands.   Merdock is the guy that stands quietly and patiently while a 16 month old girl gives him one last hug before she leaves him for the day.  This is after the two of them have sat on the floor together and shared snacks or explored the office looking for trouble as partners in crime. ,,Yea Merdock is big and he needs a strong confident leader, but he also does not have even one teeny mean bone in his whole big body.  To know Merdock is to love Merdock...please give yourself a chance to fall in love with this big happy boy.

11/11/09 -  Merdock wonders why he is still in our home.  Don't misunderstand, he likes it here.  After all he gets to sleep on the couch every night and go to work more days than not.  But he would really like a family to call his own.  And a place that is all his, that he doesn't have to share.   Somewhere that has a great yard to play in and someone that can throw a ball for him.  A home that understands big boxers and can continue helping him to be a great dog.    Merdock already knows sit, wait, off and drop it.  He does a perfect kidney bean dance and loves to show off his moves.   He knows when you feed him that he needs to sit, wait and make eye contact before he will get the "go ahead" to eat.   He is always happy to see new people and old friends.  Merdock loves to cuddle up on the couch with his head on your lap.    He looks at every car ride as an adventure into the unknown and is exuberant even when the ride turns out to be a trip to the school bus stop and back.   95 pounds of happy, sweet, fun and cuddly boxer??. what more could you ask for?

11/3/09 - Here is a you tube video of Merdock.

10/20/09 - 10/20/09 Merdock is really settling in and becoming a VERY nice boy.  He really enjoys spending time with us, and is quiet and calm when "hanging" out in our lving room.  He is not a barker inside or outside.  He still needs some etiquette reminders :), but he improves daily.  Merdock loves to ride in the car and he goes to work with me a few times a week.  In the office he is an excellent greeter.  You can see him (in his pics) at work spending some time with one of our frequent little vistors- she is 15 months old and he is gentle and sweet with her.  ,Merdock is a great guy, looking for a family of him own, to love him and spend time with him.

10/14/09 - Just a quick update on Merdock.  He is beginning to settle in with us.  We are still waiting on dog to dog intros without gates between them.  He is very happy through the gate and fence, if anything actually seems disinterested in the four faces that are contantly checking him out.  He is getting better on a leash but will pull wherever he wants to go if his handler does not give him their full attention.  Merdock is a big boy that needs a persistant, patient and strong pack leader.  He is also a sweet and loving boy that enjoys spending time with humans.  He has been to my office several times and greets everyone with interest and happiness.  He is learning that jumping on people is unacceptable.  He has met people ranging from 15 months to 75 years old.  He seems to know just who he needs to be calm and gentle around.  When Merdock gets excited he thinks it's ok to put his mouth on flesh.  He is learning that teeth on skin, no matter how gentle, is also totally unacceptable.  He learns fast and is a great "student" so these few bad habits are very correctable and sure to be a thing "of the past" in no time.  ,Merdock is a great guy looking for the right home...is that you?

10/06/09 - Merdock came to us early this morning.  He was super excited when he arrived here and was all flying feet and happiness.  He has not had much in the way of exercise or human attention lately.  We are certain that given time, direction, attention and exercise he will settle in nicely.  He had some off leash play time in our yard when he arrived and did lap after lap with his turbo chargers on hyper drive. :) Merdock is quietly resting in an oversized (Great Dane)crate, or the "condo" as we like to call it.Keep a look out for updates on this strapping boxer boy, 95lbs of muscle and brawn!  I have a feeling that we have lots of silly Merdock tales to come!
