12/13/09 - Moose has settled in nicely with our family. He has a big brother Jack (also a boxer). He tries desperately to get him to play but to no avail. He is very cuddly. It seems as if he can't get close enough to us. He likes to be with us at all times and will even follow us into the bathroom. He has lots of energy and needs excercize. I am going to take him with me on a run today... I am sure he won't struggle through it like I will! 12/5/09 - Mickey Moo left yesterday evening and didn't look back. We know that he is going to do wonderful in his new home. He is going to be living nearby so we hope to see him for playdates in the future. ,,Be good Mickey, you will be missed!! 11/29/09 - Mickey is pending adoption 11/19/09 - Mickey is making wonderful progress here in our home. He is almost completely housetrained. We have had quite a few days with no accidents in a row but I don't want to jinxx it and say he is completely housetrained just yet. When we are outside and I think that he must be done and take him back to the door if he refuses to go inside then we walk around some more and he finishes. So, he is a smart boy. He continues to play with our two and they have lots of fun together. Mickey and Rocky sometimes annoy our female (trying to get her play) but she lets them know quickly when she is not in the mood to play and they back off and continue playing together. Oh, so I forgot to report that Mickey loves to look out the window. The other day I thought I lost him for a minute but I finally noticed that he was behind the curtain looking out the window. He had his chin just resting on the window sill, it was just too cute. Mickey is also not a barker!!! Our boy Rocky likes to bark when playing and Mickey has never barked with him or when he's gone in his crate. Mickey continues to learn and grow and he is a joy to have around. 11/10/09 - Mickey Moo, as I have started to call him, is doing wonderful. He is a smart boy and is catching on quick how to sit and wait outside the kitchen for his food, to go to the back door when he needs to go out, and that treats mean crate time. Mickey continues to play with our two and everyone gets along great. I love it when my female (Yoshi) takes a toy and Mickey and Rocky just follow her whenever she goes. At one point they had their heads all together holding onto the same toy. It would have been a great picture. Mickey has figured out that going on the furniture here is ok. The other day Mickey was sleeping in his open crate and our two were laying on the couch. My husband went upstairs to get something and when he came down Mickey was on the couch too. Mickey is learning fast and will soon be ready for his forever home. 11/3/09 - Mickey has settled in nicely. He is catching on quick that he has to sit when we come in the house and for his food. Mickey still jumps to try and get you to play with him every now and then but each day he tries less and less. I think that Mickey has realized our dogs aren't going anywhere so he doesn't feel the need to constantly play. They actually lay around the living room and sleep sometimes instead. Mickey must not have been allowed on the furniture because he will come over and rest his head in your lap to be petted but doesn't try to get up on the couch. We are making progress with house training and sometimes he even goes to the back door to let you know. Mickey is on his way to becoming a super pup!! 10/30/09 - Mickey has met our two boxers and he gets along with both of them great. He loves to play. We actually have to separate them just so he can start breathing normal again. I don't think that he knows how to stop yet but he is young. Mickey is great in the crate at night, no whining or barking. Of course, yesterday he got to play with each dog outside and then they had playtime all together inside so he was pretty tired. We have had a few accidents but I think that we forgot that he is still a puppy even though he is so big. He does need to learn a few things but we will be working on that with him. I think that being around our dogs will help him to learn quickly. This is one cute boxer pup. 10/29/09 - BAR's newest boxer baby has arrived. He's only 11 months but he's a big boy weighing in at 71 lbs. Mickey is definately all puppy though jumpy, playful, and sweet. He hasn't been taught any doggy manners it seems but we will be working on that. While he doen't like to go in his crate once he's there he only whines softly and then he settles down. In the coming days he will be meeting our two boxers and hopefully we can drain some of his energy. |
