6/22/11 - Bailey has been a Canadian now for just alittle over 6 months, and is doing extremely well! She has adapted to our household beautifully and loves giving everyone kisses here. She likes to curl up on the couch with us when we're watching tv and often is found snoozing on top of Buster (Another BAR rescue) She hates winter and barely goes far but now that the warmer weather is here she is very eager to join us for our walks! She has no tail so she does a wonderful wiggle dance whenever she greets us and eager to give kisses too! She still has not barked once and I don't think we ever will, as I am assuming something must have happened in her previous life but her facial expression and body language are easily readable. She has always gotten along with Buster and these two being the same approx age 8 1/2 they are a perfect fit together! She never had a accident in the home or any other issues and she is a fantastic addition to our family. Her coat is nice and thick and her califlower nose is gone, she looks really good now and thank you BAR as I am sure you saved her life and she is a big part of our life and we enjoy her tremedously! We love her sooo much!!! 2/14/11 - Happy Valentines Everyone! Our new love Bailey (1148) is doing wonderfully here! She found out she is allowed up on the couch and loves to snuggle with us when we settle down for the evening. Bailey gets along beautifully with Buster another BAR boxer. She is incredible quiet we have yet to hear her bark, but her snoring is another story (laughing). She loves to cuddle with Buster and climbs right on top of him it looks funny and really makes us all laugh! She is alot like her adopted mother when it come to the weather hates the cold and scoots in and out the door real quick! We can't wait for the warmer weather to come and we'll do our daily walks again. With no tail it is so cute to see her wiggle her whole backside, and she loves to gives kisses! Thank you BAR for allowing us to adopt her, as she fits with our family soooo perfectly! She is a pure love! 12/2/10 - Bailey has been with us for a month now and what a blessing she is! Such a sweet quiet girl who has settled in with us without a hitch. She has found Buster (also a BAR #326) a great companion as the two sleep together and go for thier walks together - just do everything together! What a perfect match! Bailey has settled in our quiet household perfectly to the point it looks like she was suppose to be ours to begin with! She does not bark but oh she snores! LOL She found out she is allowed up on the couch and loves it so much it is where we always find her when we get home! She loves to snuggle with anyone especially Buster! Since Bailey and Buster are both seniors their slow ways works well together neither are fast and when we go for walks they pace each other perfectly. Her adoptive family loves her to bits, and just can't get over her beautiful personality! She is also so beautiful to look at her mellow eyes, her soft kisses, and her tail less wiggles (no tail wiggles cute!) gosh one can not help but love her! Thank you BAR for another PERFECT BOXER!!! We promise she'll be throughly loved!!!! 11/10 - Bailey has been adopted 10/16/10 - Bailey is pending adoption 9/24/10 - Not much new to report on Bailey. She is just such a pleasure to have around. She has figured out that she is not allowed to the furniture. So, she at least shows the curtesy of staying off of the furniture while we are home. When we are gone it is a different story for her and her foster brother and sisters. Therefore, we could argue that they are a terrible influence. She is still eating well and has even found the energy to play and run around a little outside. She always looks so surprised after she gets running! Bailey is in need of some work on her teeth. So, we are in the process of figuring out exactly what she needs. I will keep you posted on that situation. Overall, Bailey is a delight to have at the house and she better gat adopted soon or we will have to keep her for ourselves :) That has happened once or twice in the past... 7/28/10 - Bailey continues to do well here... She loves to cuddle with the other dogs. She does not have a favorite. She is definitely an equal opportunity cuddler. Bailey has been staying out with the other dogs while we are away, regardless of the amount of time that we are gone. She has truly become part of our pack. She has had no accidents in the house and has never touched anything that does not belong to her. I think Bailey's ideal life style would be with a quiet family with another furry companion and plenty of reasons to wiggle about. She is too funny when she wiggles because her tail is docked so short that it does not really move! So instead, she does a serious "kidney bean" and hops in your general direction. She never barks! Bailey's only flaw is that she insists on getting on the couch even though she knows she is not supposed to be up there. When we walk into the room she tries to look really small on the couch instead of getting down. She makes us laugh every day. This is one of the easiest dogs there ever was! Anyone would be lucky to make her as a part of their lives... think of this little angel when you are considering your next pet! 7/1/10 - Bailey has settled in so nicely here in such a short amount of time. She is sleeping on a dog bed in our bedroom at night with all of the other dogs and eats with them just fine. She does not show any sort of food aggression at all. Which is wonderful because when I cook I inevitably lose some portion of the food to the floor during preparation. I did quite a bit of cooking yesterday and she shared all of the dropped food fairly with the other "vacuum cleaners" who were ensuring that the kitchen floor stayed food free :) She stays in her own room when we are out of the house for long periods of time. We do not feel the need to crate her as she does fine loose in her own space. I even left her out with free reign of the house with my other dogs this afternoon while I ran our for a hour or so. She did great!! Nothing was disturbed! Although she does have a strange fixation with paper, which more hilarious then anything. Sometimes we look up and she is just walking casually through the house with a tissue or piece of paper and looks at us like we are crazy when we take it from her as she will in fact eat it... not just shred it. Bailey is such a wonderful little girl. All she wants out of life is a soft bed, some people to love her and get overly excited when she wiggles her nub or gives kisses.
6/27/10 - Bailey, formerly known as Baby, came to the country
yesterday afternoon thanks to all of her traveling angels... It was
quite a journey! This is just about the sweetest little girl there ever
was. She immediately got a good scrub down and ear cleaning. She was
practically a puddle in the bath tub by the time we were finished. The
more I touched her the more she melted and the warm water made her
practically smile. She is eating well and sleeping a lot. She spent
the evening and over night in her own room on a giant pillow. Her soft
snores could be heard from the bottom of the stairs. There have been no
accidents in the house as she relieves herself immediately upon going
outside. She met the three resident dogs this morning and was happy to
do so. They all enjoyed the morning outside as we did some yard work.
From what I have seen Bailey will be a wonderful pet. We look forward
to letting her settle into life here and come completely out of her
shell. |
