EMPIRE STATE RESIDENTS:
HELP PASS DANGEROUS DOG BILL
![]() |
| Attention, New York Residents |
The problem of “dangerous dogs”—or, more precisely, the problem of dog owners who do not exercise control and supervision over their pets—is a statewide concern. A new bill, sponsored by Assembly Member Paul Tonko and Senator George Maziarz, would:
* expand the current law to cover situations involving dogs attacking or
threatening other companion animals and farm animals;
* increase penalties for violators, and
* create a registry for monitoring dogs found to be dangerous.
New York State animal lovers, your help is needed to ensure that A. 6635-C/S. 5910-C, rather than other pending legislation that singles out specific breeds, becomes law this year. Please visit the ASPCA Advocacy Center today, where you can send letters to your legislators urging them to pass this important bill.
