6/12/07 - Baby is pending adoption
6/11/07 -
JUST A LITTLE
UPDATE ON BABY .BABY IS DOING WELL AND I CAN FINALLY SAY ALL HER SORES
ARE FULLY HEALED. HER COAT IS GROWING BACK , NICE & HEALTHY.
I HAVE HAD PEOPLE SAY, "IS THAT THE SAME DOG ?" THEY
REMEMBER SEEING HER WHEN I FIRST GOT HER. THEY CAN'T BELIEVE HOW
GOOD SHE LOOKS. SHE HAD FINALLY MADE FRIENDS WITH BELLA AND
SHE LOVES TO CHASE BELLA IN THE YARD. SHE IS VERY QUICK AND TO SAY
THE LEAST, FOR THIS LITTLE GIRL , SHE HAS QUITE THE STRENGTH BEHIND HER.
SHE JUST LOVES TO PLAY BALL AND CAN ALSO ENTERTAIN HERSELF. SHE
WILL CATCH THE BALL IN MID-AIR. SHE IS VERY OBEDIENT AND I
WOULD HAVE TO SAY THIS DOG DOESN'T REQUIRE OBEDIENCE TRAINING POST
ADOPTION. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THIS DOG WAS FOUND ASTRAY
AS SHE IS AS SWEET AS THEY CAN COME. I HAD THE TWO DOGS OUT
WALKING
6/4/07 -
Baby had her recheck on
Friday. Dr. Fay was very impressed with baby's skin
condition and she has ruled out any form of mange or yeast
infection on the skin. Baby still continues to scratch herself
and now we are not sure if this is nerves or some type of allergy.
Dr. Fay has placed baby on prednisone & cephalexin. It has
only been since Friday and I am seeing less & less scratching and
she seems to be more comfortably & coming around more. Friday
evening I had the dogs outside playing Frisbee and I can actually
say they played together. Baby was chasing Bella around the
yard to get the frisbee from her. She is so quick and a few times
was able to snatch the frisbee from Bella. It's a joy watching her
coming around. Baby especially loves to play ball. She
will fetch & bring it back to you. She knows the commands of sit,
stay, come, down & beg. This is so cute to watch. She is an
excellent watch dog and is very gentle on lead. She will walk
right by your side and there doesn't seem to be any issues with being
distracted by animals nor people on the outside. She is
house trained but has had a few accidents in the house which I think is
due to the medication she is on, as she is also drinking more water.
Baby isn't an outdoor dog. She is always so eager to come back in,
where it's more comfortable. I think she has spent a lot of time
outdoors wherever she came from. She has quite a bit of callus
build up & there where are few times she pooped & peed on the pavement
instead of the grass area which was right there in the yard.
So this leads me to believe she was use to hard ground. Baby
filling out nicely & her coat is looking so much healthier ,no
more sores. I can truly say that baby does well with other dogs
and there are no issues with feeding time. Baby & Bella eat side
by side just perfectly. Last but not least

- Baby's sores are healing , well some .It seems to be a slow
process, along with this she still carries an odor to this skin
condition. She also is receiving two baths a week, this seems to
help with some of the itching. She had finished her baytril.
When I asked Dr. Fay about the baytril ,she stated, when finished, she
would recheck her. Baby goes in this coming Fri. for a recheck, in
the mean time she is taking a Benadryl for now. The sores are
mainly on her underside, legs, chest and face area. I have a cone
around her for the times I can't be available to watch her but this cone
is way to heavy, it's a heavy duty type plastic ,it's so heavy , it
weighs it's self down. It's all the vet had in

- Latest news on baby ................ 5/23/07 - Baby had another bath last night. She was so good about it too, what a sweet girl she is. This seems to reduce the itching and her wounds are healing nicely and her coat is coming in looking so healthy. I am seeing a big difference & she is eating good. I wonder if she is eating too much but I'm not really that concerned as she needs to put weight on. She was only 44 lbs. when she came to me and she is already starting to fill out nicely and I'll get her to a good weight again. One last thing I wanted to mention was that I can't seems to find anything wrong with this BABY GIRL .......... Another good foster!
5/22/07 - Just a little update on
how baby is doing. She was briefly looked at today by Dr.Fay and
she sees a big improvement in baby's skin condition. She had
advised me to continue the medication till it's gone & will check her in
week or two. She is hoping this is a bacterial infection instead
of some sort of skin
allergy. I will update this once I know more. Baby is
getting a bath once a week but I think I will make it two baths a week.
I went out over the weekend and picked up some natural care shampoo & a
spray for hot spots. This shampoo uses the power of tea tree
oil to remove dandruff flakes, and provide fast relief from itching
caused by flea allergy dermatitis, allergies or other skin problems and
moisturizes and rejuvenates the skin and coat. I haven't used it
yet but Dr.Fay did say that I was doing a good job w/ baby, she was
impressed with her skin coat. This was a brief look over only.
After last week of treating her for worms, Baby & Bella came down with a
cough & sneezing/ I was wondering if it had something to do with
the worm medication. I truly believe that baby had kennel cough
but just took a while to come out. She is eating & playing & going
potty and no fever. The vet said to just let it run it's course
unless she becomes lethargic. She is also on baytril and
taking Benadryl. My Bella
had a bordetella given but wasn't due till Sept. Once baby is
feeling fine

Baby had her wellness exam on Monday.
It appears after several skin scrapings that Baby has a bad bacterial
infection going on. She was given a medicated bath, along with an
antihistamine to relieve the itching. She
5/13/07 - Baby has finally arrived
and she seems to be happy to being back in home. A as we go out to
potty,
she is very eager to come back in. It appears to me that she, at
one point in her life, had a decent home life. She performed well
on the first command of "sit " for a cookie bone and had no issues &
even gave her paw. She also comes when I call her name & is very
gentle about taking food from my hand. As far as the other basic
commands, I am not sure as she just arrived yesterday.
