2/20/12 - I can't believe how long it has been since I shared an update on Bailey! Time sure does fly! I also can't believe that I still have this awesome Boxer girl in my house!! :) She is truly a wonderful dog! As I'm typing this, she is curled up on her bed taking a nap. Such a sweet dog. Not too much has gone on since my last post about Bailey. She is still great with the kids, loves to take car rides, stays off of the furniture, great at the vet, behaves by herself, loves to meet people, good with cats, does well meeting new dogs if I'm not around(haha!!) and just an all around love. She really deserves a forever home. She may sound like she's on the older side at 7, but she is as young at heart as they get. She loves to play and still has all the energy of a young pup but the knowledge of a mature dog to go and settle when play time is over! Please get your apps in for this special girl...she will be forever grateful for her permanent home!

6/2/11 - Sorry it has been so long since Bailey's last update! She has been somewhat of a busy girl! She is a good traveler and a lovely houseguest when we go to visit my parents on the South Shore of MA. I took her to the vets this past weekend due to allergies and a sore leg. She has a bit of stiffness in her front shoulders, but she only lets on once in a while with a bit of a limp. It usually lasts a day or so and we help her by giving her aspirin. She's usually back to normal as fast as it came on. She doesn't like to give in to it either. She loves to play with our kids out in the yard. She is so good with them. She continues to be a good girl with our cat and likes to play with him a bit, too! Bailey has probably been our cat's favorite foster thus far. He will rub up against Bailey and drink out of Bailey's water bowl while Bailey is eating. Very cute! We have tried to introduce Bailey to my brother's 2 Bassetts and no luck yet(she was brought up with a chihuahua and they lived together for 6 yrs...so she has to be good with dogs :) ). We will keep trying and see how it goes. I don't run into too many dogs where I am so I haven't gotten to try her out on any other dogs. She is such a great dog and has so many great qualities and defiantely does not act like a six year old. She is well mannered, house broken, a good protector, loveable, playful, easy going, easy to travel with and easy to take to the vets, she is not crated and can be trusted alone, she is not a chewer nor does she get up on the furniture(she doesn't even try ;)! ). She can be a little nervous around men, but will come around quickly with a good treat and gentle words. She really has brought us a lot of joy and happiness since we have had her and we want to make sure that another loving family out there gets to experience her and all she has to offer! Please consider this Boxer Beauty to add to your family! You WON'T be disappointed!

3/15/11 - Bailey had another trip to the vets tonight to re-check her leg that had an open wound and to re-check her ears, which were infected. The Vet was very pleased with her 2 week follow-up visit tonight. Her "boo-boo" on her leg is healing nicely after getting her on antibiotics and and keeping an e-collar on her. Her ears also had a 90% improvement! So, as of now, Bailey is not on any meds. Bailey has also lost about 7 lbs since being with us and the Vet was very pleased with that as well. She said that was a healthier weight for her and she probably lost that weight due to eating a healthier food and getting frequent walks. So, all in all, Bailey is doing great. She continues to do well in our house and with our children and cat! She really is a love. We have one more appt. with the vet in 2 weeks to make sure Bailey continues to heal properly and then after that, hopefully no more vet visits for a while!

3/4/11 - We have had Bailey for a few weeks now and she has been a perfect guest! She is a good listener and loves to be by her people's side. She does take a few to warm up to new people or people that she hasn't seen in a while. She is not the type of dog you can just walk right up to and be all over her...it needs to be when she is ready. She will growl if not comfortable or too overwhelmed. She has really taken to myself and my family. I was sick this past weekend w/strep throat and we happened to be at my mom and dad's when I got sick. They do not allow dogs in their bedroom, so the entire time I was laying in their room, she was facing the door, laying down, waiting for me to come out. You could tell she was out of sorts because I was not with her! She is a real sweetheart. She does tend to jump on people, once she feels that she likes you! She really likes to be close to us!  She has been very good with our cat, especially not having lived with a cat before! If she gets a little to pushy with the cat(meaning wanting to play)we tell her "no kitty" and she responds very well.  I take her for 4 small walks per day and that seems to work for her. If you have the extra time and the weather will co-operate, she will go for longer walks. She is the most active Boxer we have had as of yet(and the oldest!), but is very happy just hanging with you and playing on your schedule!  She does not get on any of the furniture nor does she eat the kitty litter or the kitty food. She is great with my 4 and 7 year old kids...very gentle! She sleeps on her bed at the foot of our bed and when we are at work, she does not stay in a crate, she has her bed in the livingroom and has access to the whole house. She does a good job of behaving herself!!  She will make any family whole and will please you beyond excpectations! Come give this gentle, playful girl a chance!

2/13/11 - We picked up Bailey this afternoon! She is a bit shy but warms up quickly! What a sweet heart! She is starting to drink but hasn't eaten yet. She probably needs to relax a bit. I will keep you all updated!  Thanks to everyone who helped out!!

1/29/11 - Bailey is an owner surrender who needs a foster home.  She likes other dogs, not sure about cats, and there was a 3 yr old in the home who was very allergic to her.  She's very very  gentle & very loveable.  She loves to snuggle with kids & the 8 pound chihuahua she's lived with for 6years.
