8/2/08 - Breize is pending adoption.

7/25/08 - Sorry it's been so long since the last update....here goes....
Bree is an ABSOLUTE joy.  Though you can tell that she has definitely gotten comfortable with her living situation, I've only noticed slight changes in her behavior.  Mainly with the cats-she tries to play with them a little bit more then she did when she first arrived.  But they're used to her and just ignore her.
Bree has also made a new friend-my friends' Boxer, Riot.  Riot is a male around the same age, but almost twice as big.  But that doesn't bother her at all-the two play together so well!  And Bree holds her own, as his one stride is equal to her two.  My friend dropped something off, with Riot in the back seat.  Bree was outside with me-Riot stuck his big ol' head out the window, just to give Bree kisses. They took to each other instantly....
She's also made new friends with a stuffed bear, who I call "Binky Bear".  She walks around the house with it all the time as well as sleeps with it.  She doesn't chew it, just gums it.  When you see Bree, you know "Binky Bear" isn't far behind....
Though a little birdie at Bucktail did pass along some helpful information to me, I'm happy to say that Bree's days of being a picky eater are over!  She eats her breakfast and dinner of hard food with no problems....
Her hair is also growing back, slowly but surely.  The cysts between her toes come and go.  When I first took her in, she had one and it had completely disappeared, but unfortunately, she now has two, that have just appeared in the last few days.  But they do continue to shrink daily.  But, on a reassuring note, they don't seem to cause her any discomfort.
I can't thank BAR enough for such an opportunity.  Bree has brought me, as well as everyone that meets her, such a tremendous amount of joy.  She truly is a special dog...

7/3/08 - Brieze continues to be an amazing dog...
She met my brother the other day and was very hesitant at first.  He just ignored her and within 30 mins. she had warmed up to him.  By the end of the night, she was cuddling on the couch with him.  She just has to go at her pace and there will be no issues.
The only issue that I've experienced w/ Bree is that she's a picky eater.  She's on special food due to her allergies and I don't believe that she's too fond of it.  As she only eats a little nibble here and there, I leave it out throughout the day so she can eat when the mood strikes.  At night, if she hasn't eaten most of the dry food, I'll give her can wet food and she seems to do ok w/ that.
I'm pleased to say that there have been NO accidents thus far. I usually take her out around 6:30am just to tinkle and then I go back to bed for 45 mins. or so.  I take her on a morning walk and she usually tinkles again and then once more before I leave for work around 8:15.  She's quick to go once she's outside, which is great, as I'm usually running late for work.  :-)  She goes out again at 5:30ish, another time around 8ish and then right before bed which is around 10:30.  She doesn't let you know when she has to go out, so I've been trying to get her into a schedule.  So far, so good...

7/1/08 - Brieze is an ABSOLUTE lover.  The fact that someone abused/neglected her is beyond me.  She is one of the sweetest animals I have ever seen with the most soulful eyes.
I picked Brieze up on Sunday-I was told she growled at me when I first approached, though I didn't hear it.  It took her about ten minutes to warm up to me and then she was fine.  She was GREAT in the car ride home-just laid in the back seat and took a nap.
Her previous Foster Mom said that she was working with her and cats.  Well, looks like her hard work has paid off, because Brieze is awesome with the cats.  She doesn't go after them or paw at them.  She'll look at them and when they hiss, she's done.  It's like she says "Oh, ok, you don't want to play.  Bye!"  and walks away.
It's only been a few days, but one would never know it.  It's like Brieze and I have been best friends forever.  She follows me around the house and never leaves me side.  She just wants to be loved!
She LOVES to play with the ball-she'll bring it to you and drop it so you can throw again.  Once she has had enough, she just lays down to let you know that she's done.
As I recently injured my ankle, our walks aren't too long.  However, Brieze loves them anyway.  She's pretty good on the leash-she doesn't really pull, but doesn't heel either.  But if you say her name, she'll stay and wait for you.
Brieze truly is a special dog-I would love to see her go in a home where they can love her like she deserves, as that's all she needs to make her tail wag.

6/26/08 - I have been working my best with Brieze to get her to "behave" around cats.  She really just wants to play but a boxer's play nip to a cat is a bite.  She see cats as another play toy.  She is ALL puppy.  My mom met her yesterday and agreed she is a sweetheart.  She is a really a good dog around women, kids and other dogs.  She does NOT jump!   She is very submissive with both female and male dogs.  She LOVES toys especially balls.  She will play fetch until she drops.  She knows the commands sit, paw, down, drop it and come.
When finding a home for her please make sure that the people know she is VERY afraid of men.  She is scared of men to the point of growling at them but so far no action beyond that.  If the guy leaves her alone she will warm up within an hour.
I will get some better pictures for you soon.

6/19/08 - Breize has found a temporary foster home.

6/12/08 - We are looking for help with a FANTASTIC dog. She is under 2, good with kids and cats and dogs. She is living in a home with 5 kids. She was adopted out about a year ago. She was a neglect case with severe mange. We cleared the mange and found that she has severe allergies. We had the allergy testing done and she was started on allergy shots. The family who has her wants her re-homed as they go camping every weekend, aggravating her allergies. They need her out by Thursday, June 19, 2008

7/07 - Brieze is a 1/1/2 yr old flashy fawn female boxer.  She is the worst cruelty case that we have seen in a while.  The brown patches on Brieze are the ONLY hair she has.  The SPCA has spayed her and given her all her shots and microchipped her.  Brieze is happy and was quick to play with a ball and other dogs... she doesn't like the camera at all.  The vet says her skin condition is completely gone, it’s just going to be some time till all that hair grows back!  She has also had a bath.  She is on the road to recovery... sure hope someone can give her a chance!
