so kids under 6 or 7 should be supervised. No cats !!! Probably no other dogs either.

1/4/12 - Hi! It's been awhile since posting an update for Peanut. Now that it's getting colder out, Peanut is spending much more time inside the nice warm house and starting to become a little couch potato. On the weekends, I take her to the Poconos, just her not the big dogs, for our special time. She's got full run of the house up there and a nice big yard to run around in. She does very well in the house, loves being able to be at my side all the time. She is just the sweetest baby girl who just craves attention and approval from her people. She doesn't have accidents in the house, nor does she chew on anything not hers. When she goes outside, she runs and runs, goodness is she fast! If she gets a little far, all it takes is a quick call of her name and she comes bolting back to the house. She really is such a good little girl. Peanut just wants to be loved and to be someones little Princess forever!

9/30/11 - Peanut is now completely over her surgery and feeling great! With this cooler weather, we are now able to go for longer walks without getting overheated. She walks well on the leash. She loves stopping at all of her usual spots along our walk route. She is getting used to meeting new people and is much less shy with new things. She looks up at you with those beautiful brown eyes for confirmation, then digs right in to whatever the new thing is. Her personality is so happy, she just sparkles with enthusiasm for life. She loves attention and to be close to her people. When playtime is over, we go straight into snuggle time. What a love she is!

9/20/11 - Hi All! Peanut is all spayed now. She got her stitches out this past Monday. After not feeling so well for about a week, she's back to her bubbly self. If I had to pick one word to describe her personality, it would be "sweetheart". She loves to snuggle next to you and give you little kisses. Last night, she crawled up onto my lap, let out some very content sighs and proceeded to fall into a snorty, snoring sleep. This cuddle-bug needs a furever family to call her own!

9/7/11 - Princess Peanut was spayed yesterday after being in heat most of August. Besides her hormones being out of whack and it being too hot to play outside for long, her spirits stayed high. She is such a good little girl! Peanut just loves attention from her people. She is so affectionate and cuddly. I love it when after a play session, she just gazes up at you with nothing by adoration in her eyes! She's waiting for her new family. Once she gets over her initial shyness, she warms up and will be your little Princess forever!

7/13/11 - Hi All! Peanut continues to do well with us. She's a happy and very playful little girl. She's grown taller in the last few weeks and is becoming quite a muscular little one! She gets so excited when she sees us, I've had to teach her "back" and "down" so she doesn't knock you over while she's jumping for joy! Currently we are working on "sit" and "stay". She has an appointment in 3 weeks to be spayed. I'll be sure to update after her surgery. She is still having issues getting along with my 2 other dogs, but we continue to work with her. I've posted more videos on youtube... 6/27/11 - I know it hasn't been long since Peanut's last update but she had such a great weekend, I had to share. We took Peanut to our home in the Poconos over the weekend. Just Peanut, left the 2 big dogs at home. Well this little Manhattan girl totally LOVES the woods! She ran around the yard like a complete maniac and then she'd wander off into the woods a little. I'd call her back and she would just come tearing out of the woods straight to the house. I've never seen a dog run so fast! She had an awesome weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed spending quality one-on-one time with her! What a special little girl. She's come a long way from that terrified baby who showed up on my doorstep a month ago. It's amazing what a little love can do ...

6/18/11 - This is what walking with Peanut has taught me .... Sometimes it's enough to just stop and smell the roses but sometimes you have to stick your whole face in the flower pot.  Peanut is really coming along. She's grown taller and has begun to fill out into a beautiful young girl. She's very playful and affectionate. We've been taking lots of walks and she walks wonderfully on a leash. She loves exploring new things, drinking in all of the strange smells and sounds. We've recently learned how to play "ball" in the backyard. She will chase that ball all over the place, pouncing and batting it with her paws almost cat-like. It's a total hoot! Peanut still doesn't want to be with my resident dogs, so she should most likely be an only dog. In fact, she's an attention hog and would thrive as an only furchild. You couldn't ask for a sweeter girl. Once she trusts you and bonds with you, you will have a friend for life!

6/7/11 - Here are a couple short videos of Peanut playing, http://youtu.be/gPDb8tk_ohA http://youtu.be/v3M92m4hZxo http://youtu.be/kpj8ofwj6-Y,Peanut really is a sweet little baby girl. She loves her people and plastic squeaky toys. She likes to curl up on laps and snuggle. She really is just a joy to be with. She looks at the world with puppy wonder and awe. She's starting to fill out now that she's getting regular meals. I even had to let her collar out a notch the other day. What a beautiful girl she is!!

5/25/11 - Peanut is definitely NOT afraid anymore! She's having a blast playing with toys and running around out back.  This is a video of her playing with her squeaky and howling at it, http://youtu.be/pgVRJ48iA-Q

5/24/11 - Peanut (AKA Charessa) arrived completely terrified but now she's coming out of her shell.  She's still a bit fearful of new things but she recovers quickly and is curious of whatever it is. Peanut is an absolute sweetheart!  She is still very much a puppy and she has new experiences everyday.  She's got a nice mellow personality, loves to sit on your lap or snuggle on the couch.  She's very gentle interacting with her people and just wants to be with us.  The first few days she howled at night because she was alone and afraid, so I slept with her on the couch.  The past 2 nights, she's been fine, no howling.  Her confidence is building slowly.  She will now go outside without her toy in her mouth, in fact she's buried it in the yard.  We continue to introduce new things to her slowly and she looks to us for reassurance.  Now that she is feeling better (She had kennel cough), we are introducing her to Ty, our boxer boy.  She still barks at him over the gate from her room but the tone is less aggressive.  We're working on walking them together before we let them face to face in the house.  Yesterday was our first attempt and we were able to walk down the street with about 10-15 feet in between the dogs.  That doesn't sound like much, but Ty has leash aggression and for him it's HUGE.  She becomes more comfortable each day and I'm sure as her anxiety subsides, she will be just fine.  She loves men, women and teenagers.  Probably prefers women. In the next week or so, I'll take her to meet a 6 yr. and see how she does.

5/16/11 - Charessa has a foster home

5/10/11 - Charessa is a stray that was taken in by animal control.  She is about 2 yrs old and weigh about 50 lbs.  She is bright, alert and response, but she is a little tense in the shelter situation as are most Boxers.  Evaluations are being done by the shelter and we hope to have more information on this cute little girl soon.  If you are interested in giving her a foster, FTA, or forever home, please email us at boxerangelsdirectors@yahoo.com
