FOSTER-TO-ADOPT PROGRAM Through the Foster-to-Adopt Program, applicants who have already been approved to adopt from BAR are matched up with a Boxer who needs to come into rescue. All the dogs available through this program will be owner surrenders or owner surrenders to a shelter that we have a history on. We will not put any shelter dog or strays whom we do not have any history on in this program, they will continue to go to our experienced foster home for evaluation and testing before being offered up for adoption. These FTA dogs are not up for adoption on our web site yet, but they are on a waiting list and are still living with the families who want to surrender them or in a shelter that the family surrendered them to. We provide our applicants with all information and photos that we may have on a particular dog before a decision is made. Once a Boxer is placed in a foster-to-adopt home, we have a wonderful web site that will provide much information and support. After a two week period, FTA families will be asked to decide if they wish to adopt the Boxer they are fostering or not. If they decide that this dog is not the perfect match for their family, we ask that they continue to foster the dog in their home while BAR looks for an adoptive family for him or her and we will also continue to look for the perfect Boxer for the FTA home. If you are approved home and are interested in this program you may email the Foster-to-Adopt Coordinator, Tina at tinaf@hvc.rr.com for more information.
