Boxer Angels Rescue Foster-to-Adopt Agreement
Welcome to the BAR’s Foster-to-Adopt Program.
Foster Central
is a web site for use by BAR foster and FTA families only. All information and
directions that you will need can be obtained there.

You will also be invited to join an online group for foster homes, please accept
this invitation so that you can communicate with other FTA families
and our regular foster homes if any problems or questions arise. You can ask
any questions or seek advice from experienced foster homes at any
time.
Unfortunately BAR has had some difficulty with adoption donations from families
who has been in the FTA program, so now we require that the
adoption donation be paid BEFORE receiving an FTA by money order or bank check
made out to BAR. If the family decides
not to adopt the dog,
the full amount of the adoption donation will be
refunded.
The adoption donation for BAR dogs is as follows: $350 for any
dog under 1 year,
$300.00 for ages 1 to 4 yrs, $250 for ages 4 to 7 yrs.,
and
$150.00 for dogs over 7 years old.
This contract is between the owners of the dog, Boxer
Angels Rescue, known herein as "rescuer" or "rescue," and the caretakers of any
BAR rescue
dog, known herein as the “FTA” home or family.
The FTA family fully understands
that they are to act as a foster home for one or more of the rescue's dogs,
referred herein as "the foster dog(s)."
The following conditions apply to FTA dogs:
1. The FTA dog will remain
the property of Boxer Angels Rescue until it is officially adopted.
2. The FTA dog will not be kept outdoors without supervision.
3. The FTA dog will be fed,
watered and exercised appropriately. There will be no unsupervised, off-lead
time; the foster dog may be turned out in a
fenced-in yard, on a cable run (under supervision ONLY), or hand-walked.
4. No electronic collars are to be used at any time, except with prior approval.
5. The FTA family accepts
responsibility for any and all events that occur in connection with the
fostering of a rescue animal and releases BAR from
any liability.
6. The FTA home will not be
compensated for expenses incurred in the normal daily care of the foster dog
(such as: leashes, collars, bowls, chewing
expenses (furniture, etc.) or any other property the dog may destroy), other
than for dry dog food.
7. If
emergency care is needed, the foster

The foster family will be held responsible for unapproved expenditures.
APPROVED Veterinary care will be provided by
rescue. This includes
routine care such as vaccinations, heartworm testing, fecal exams, altering, and
any prescription medications necessary for the dog.
8. All questions or problems are to be directed to rescue officers.
9. If there is a need to
remove the FTA dog from the home, the foster dog is to be given directly to a
designated BAR rescue representative.
10. The FTA family will evaluate the animal and prepare the required evaluation
form and do weekly updates on the dog. Both of those forms are on
available from Foster Central.
11. Foster-to-Adopt
families will have 2 weeks to decide if they would like to adopt their foster.
If they should decide NOT to adopt, the foster family
agrees to continue fostering the dog until it is adopted to another home.
12. If the FTA does not
adopt the dog, they agree to release the dog into the care of the screened and
approved adoptive family upon BAR’S direction.
The foster dog will be adopted to its permanent home only under the supervision
of the Rescue to a family pre-approved by Rescue.
13. If the FTA family does
adopt the dog, a contract will be prepared by BAR and sent to the family. They
will print 2 copies, initial and sign them and

end them along with their adoption donation to the address on the contract
ASAP.

By signing this form the foster family acknowledges
having read and understands all of the above and agrees to release and indemnify
Boxer Angels Rescue from any and all claims, known and unknown, now or
hereafter, arising in connection with the animal.
