The following guidelines have been designed to provide new  foster-to-adopt homes with the information that they will need to be a foster a BAR dog.  Please read each item and select "yes" or "no" after each one which indicates that you have read the guideline and agree to adhere to it.

1. The FTA dog will remain the property of Boxer Angels Rescue.     

2. The FTA dog will not be kept outdoors without supervision.        

3. The FTA dog will be fed, watered and exercised appropriately. There will be no unsupervised, off-lead time; the FTA dog may be turned out in a fenced-in yard, on a cable run (under supervision ONLY), or hand-walked.     

4. No electronic collars are to be used at any time, except with prior approval.   

5. The Rescue requires that the FTA family have a crate available.    

6. The FTA family accepts responsibility for any and all events that occur in connection with the fostering of a rescue animal and releases BAR from any and all liability.    

7. The FTA home will not be compensated for expenses incurred in the normal daily care of the foster dog (such as: leashes, collars, bowls, chewing expenses (furniture, etc.) or any other property the dog may destroy), other than for dry dog food.

The foster family will be held responsible for unapproved expenditures
. APPROVED Veterinary care will be provided by rescue. This includes routine care such as vaccinations, heartworm testing, fecal exams, altering, and any prescription medications necessary for the dog.     

9. All questions or problems are to be directed to rescue officers.    

10. If there is a need to remove the FTA dog from the foster home, the foster dog is to be given directly to a designated BAR rescue representative.    

11. The FTA family will evaluate the animal and prepare the required evaluation form.    

12. Any property provided to the FTA family expressly for the use for fostering must be returned to BAR upon termination of this contract. This includes, but is not limited to crates, BAR tags, vaccines, digital cameras, leashes, collars, etc.    

13. Those foster families participating in the Foster-to-Adopt Program will have 2 weeks to decide if they would like to adopt their foster.  If they should decide NOT to adopt, the foster family agrees to continue fostering the dog until it is adopted to another home.    

14. If the FTA family decides not to adopt the dog, they agree to release the dog into the care of the screened and approved adoptive family upon BAR’S direction. The foster dog will be adopted to its permanent home only under the supervision of the Rescue to a family pre-approved by Rescue.     

15. All donations connected with the adoption of the foster dog will be sent directly to rescue.   

16.  I agree to send in the adoption donation for my FTA dog prior to receiving the dog to in the form of a money order or bank check made out to BAR:

The adoption donation for BAR dogs is as follows:   $350 for any dog under 1 year,   $300.00 for ages 1 to 4 yrs, $250 for ages 4 to 7 yrs., and  $150.00 for dogs over 7 years old.  I will be fully reimbursed if I decide not to adopt the dog.    

17.  I have read and understand the Foster Guidelines and have submitted a copy of the guidelines to BAR in which I have agreed to follow each of  the guidelines.
