Pertinent Information 9/14/03 - Sorry you think I've missed both of my updates However, I have spoken to Anne twice and sent pictures a week or so ago. Annie is mostly fine. She has been to the vet's 2x as she has an ongoing problem w/ her eyes and had an ear infection. The ear infection is just about cleared up although she still has 3 days of meds left. Her eyes w/ probably always require her medicated ointment. Annie is a wonderful dog and has brought a lot of joy into my life. I have been bathing her 2x a week w/ a medicated shampoo from the vet. The funny odor she had is now gone and she has grown a lot of new hair especially on her belly.. She has gained a little too much weight...about 4 lbs. Now her food is carefully measured and we take several long walks a day for exercise. Her name as you can see has been changed to Annie. She barks occasionally and plays w/toys. She has learned to run around w/ my daughter's Shih Tzu and Lab. Sometimes she can still be intimidated by the lab's size and enthusiasm. Then she backs off and becomes a spectator or she will get in her face and bark at her.. Please ask Anne to share the pictures. I would like to see them posted. Annie loves to cuddle and is a great pet. 8/2/03 - Annie adjustment has gone pretty smoothly. She has had some health issues, but i found a wonderful Vet. Annie has dry eye and has medicated ointment. She needs it 2x a day. Her eyes are much better. The cloudiness has gone and so has the discharge. Her skin condition came back on her front neck and she takes an antibiotic 1x a day. She thinks it is a treat. Also she had a funny smell (all part of the same thing) and gets a medicated bath 2x a week. She behaves wonderfully in the tub and it is very easy for me. She eats well, has started barking (on occasion), and is starting to play w/ some of the toys i bought her. However her favorite is a small pillow that she puts in her mouth and shakes it all around and sometimes tosses it . Then she gets so excited and pounces on it. Annies is wonderful. She has a great personality, loves to sleep late, and is very affectionate. As you can tell we have bonded. 7/24/03 - Hi Everyone....Thought you might like an update on Annie's (Ashley) visit to the vet. I loved the Vet. I thought she not only knew what she was doing, but she and her staff were also very nice. Annie was limping because two of her nails had pierced the pads of her feet. One on the back paw and one on her front paw. This could have happened because I walked her on the sidewalk as well as the grass. So her nails have been cut and as soon as she was put back on the floor I saw a big change in her. She seemed happy again and wasn't limping or holding her foot up. She came home and ate a big dinner of boiled rice and boiled chicken because she had some loose stools due to the trauma. Her lungs are clear, she isn't overweight (26lbs.) We are going to watch her eyes and if the redness persists she will be tested for dry eye and given special drops. The doctor also gave me some pills to use one half hour before I bring her in for anything to help keep her calm. Tomorrow she is going for a bath. I just love her. She is so sweet. I will keep in touch. 7/20/03 - Ashley has been adopted. 7/17/03 - Ashley is pending Adoption 76/23/03 - We have a new visitor at the Wings
