5/8/07 -
Ben has moved to a somewhat quieter home, where he now has a pug foster sister, who is around his age, and a pug brother, who is 2 ish. He is a very happy boy :o))
Ben has found his stride.  He has relaxed, and participates more fully with the other  2 .  He has a bounce to his walk, and his tail wags!!  He still has the fear of being left somewhere strange, and will bark when he thinks he's been abandoned.  So, sometimes, he'll be outside on the deck, and not realize the other 2 have gone around and come in, so he barks, waiting for someone to find him.  Now that we know that, we all try to make sure he knows where we are and how to find us.  That's gone a long way to reducing his barking.
He's eating well, and went on his first walk with Daizy and Pat  (hubby) this weekend.  He walks well in a harness, and partners with Daizy just fine.  Sam has more energy than the others, so Pat started taking him for a run separately.
All in all, he's settling in well.

4/30/07 - Gentle Ben came to us a few weeks ago. We received a call from a shelter saying he was brought in as a stay and needed help. Because of his age, approx. 9 years old, nobody wanted to adopt him. Spending just a few minutes with him, you can tell what a sweetheart he is. We gladly took him out of there.

When he got him home, he was initially very quiet, hiding out under the computer desk. There are 9 other dogs he is sharing his space with. Well, after a week, he came out of his shell. He is now laying with the other dogs, and loves to bark when he goes out in the yard. He loves being outside.

He may have a little loss of sight, but he sure gets around well. We gave him a nice bath, and had him checked over by our vet. He got a clean bill of health. He is Up to date on his vaccinations, and already neutered. He is also totally housetrained.

Ben would do well in a home where there is a nice yard to stroll around in. He also loves to take walks. He doesn't play with toys yet, but enjoys cow hooves and bully sticks. He will finish his food in record time though. He lives to eat! Ben is looking for a forever home, that has plenty of time for him, and a lot of love to give. If you want to give this boy the time, he will soak it up, he just loves the attention

Yes, Ben is an older boy, but don't let that fool you. He is in great shape, and has PLENTY of life and love left in him. Why not be the lucky one to make Gentle Ben a permanent member of your family. You won't be sorry
