5/23/03 - Brodie has been adopted.

5/21/03 - Well, the little girl is doing well. Took her my reg vet Friday.. She agreed w/ a proactive dipping. And suggested another proactive treatment. using an injection for mites/mange in 2 weeks. Brodie, will have a heart worm check before the injection. It's a must. If she is God forbid hw pos... she cannot have that treatment it's counter indicated. She cannot be spayed or have any shots until these treatments are completed. I have begun giving her derm caps. a substitute w/ fish oil and sunflower oil, along w/ PRN bendryl. I have to say her coat looks 50 % better already. As we know some good food and TLC cures what ails a pup :) Brodie met the kids this evening.. One at time. Lord knows if I find moe, Larry and curly overwhelming............lol lol she was a doll. laid on her back gave soft gentle kisses. embraced Ryan when he hugged her:) spent the rest of the day jawing w/ Mason........ she had a blast!!! Brodie was also cat tested today. She became very excited .. barking, whining. I would not feel comfortable placing her in a home w/ cats. Hey she passed 9 out of 10 ..no one is perfect.

5/14/03 - Hi everyone.  Ms. Brodie here.  Well I have to say I like hanging w/ the Irish gals in Bergen County much better than Newark! ( they tell me Brodie is a nice Irish name) My foster mom took me to the vet yesterday to have my skin condition checked out. The vet said I was a very good girl.  It hurt a little but it was OK.  My tests we negative.. mom had they give me a dip anyway just to be sure I was OK.  Mom also got me some Benedryl for my Sharpie allergies and some spray stuff.  I'm feeling much better!!
I was very happy to come back home.  I ran in to greet everyone. Mom gave me a ball and some snacks... then I took a snooze in my crate right next to my foster brother and sister.  I will be brought UTD on all shots, be spayed and tested for heart worm next week. talk to you soon ......Brodie

5/13/03 - Well, I brought home a new friend .....Roni works in Newark...She went outside today about 3 PM and there was a Sharpie/American Stafford Terrier Mix tied to a pole by a 6 ft extension cord.  Roni approached this little girl .....she immediately sat down and gave paw.
The human society was called , but when Roni left work at 7 PM the dog was still there.  I tried to call the ASPCA in Newark, but they closed at 5:30 with no emergency number.
I  feared for her safety in this terrible neighborhood since a sweet dog like this is bull bait!  So, I went to get this sweetie at 9:30 PM.  I untied and leashed her she jumped right in the truck.  She is a doll baby!!  She inhaled 3 coffee cups of dry food and a wet can of food.  In looking at her she has some raw spots on her sides..... don't know what it is.  She appears to be about 3 years old.   She will be seen by the vet in the morning.
