4/28/04 - Hello all ! Daisy is doing great.  My vet is really getting her on track with her chronic eye and ear infections.  she looks wonderful.  She still likes to chew rocks! She is still sleeping on her
bed, she is not a morning dog. Snoring up a storm as usual.

3/25/04 - Hello from Daisy!  Today I went to the vet, things are A OK! Except I have an slight eye infection in both my pretty brown eyes.  The Dr. gave my mom ointment for them, they should be fine in 10 days!  I just got combed and a relaxing bath.  I have this really cool pink bandana on for spring.   I luv to nap & that's what I'm doing right now.

3/22/04 - Daisy has adapted well to our family.  I just finished feeding her chicken noodle soup (which seems to be one of her favorites).  I brushed her teeth today, which she did not enjoy very much :)
She loves cuddling up to my son at bed time.  She is so lovable and precious.  She is sporting a hot pink bandana, she looks so stylish.  I will post pics ASAP.

3/18/04 - Daisy is doing great!  we love her lots.  she is such a good girl.  Everyone that meets her falls in love with her little face.  She has her own little personality that is amazing.  She is our sweet little peanut.

3/9/04 - Daisy is a joyful addition to our family.  We are so grateful to have found her.  Her foster parents were very good to her and they were really was helpful with guidance.  She is sleeping on her little bed next to me snoring up a storm !  She looks like a little gremlin.  What a sweet little girl.

3/7/04 - Daisy has been adopted.
A very nice young couple just took her home, and she loves my (I mean her) Daisy girl. I love endings like this...this girl was on the euthenasia scrap heap and now is all fixed up and into her new home where she will be loved for the rest of her life. Very gratifying. A nice Sunday it was today :o))

3/4/04 - Daisy is pending adoption.

1/21/04 - While looking thru one of my local shelters last week, I came across this strikingly cute female Pekingese. She had a face that just melts your heart, and when I bent down to talk to her, she seemed to be very sad. I couldn't blame her, what a terrible place to be, and her time was running out. So, I went to the front desk and inquired abut her. There were no holds on her, which surprised me because she is sooo cute. Then they started reading her info, and I could see why she was still there. She was a stray, picked up on the streets (it was 5 degrees on the day she was picked up, poor thing) and the preliminary examination revealed several tumors on her mammary glands, and she had some problem with her feet. I asked them to take her out and bring her to the "introduction room". When they brought her in, I checked her over and yes, there are 2 very distinct lumps in her abdomen, and when I went to check her paws, she flinched, and got very stressed, as if they were hurting her, so I stopped. Since her time was just about up, and no one wanted her, I told them I would take her right there on the spot.

We took her to the vet, and he checked her out thoroughly. He said the tumors are most likely cancerous (it appears she was never spayed, which dramatically increase these kinds of tumors) and get this.............as far as her paws....EVERY one of her nails have grown so long that they have curled up into her paws and have embedded themselves into her paws. Even her dew claws, and she has 4 of them,..,...have curled around and on one leg has impacted into her leg, which has swelled up and looks like a growth, but it is only the swelling. Poor thing, how could someone neglect her so badly? What does it take to just trim your dogs nails, and avoid this?
The vet is not encouraged by what he saw. Her feet can be fixed thru surgery, which we will do, but we are taking a chest x-ray to see if there is any cancer in other parts of her body, particularly the lungs. I am praying there will not be and she will be OK. If there is no sign of cancer in the x-rays, we will make arrangements to remove the tumors if the vet fees this can be done. She and Coby (my foster shih tzu) are buddies now, they hang out together all the time. He is a lucky boy, cause this girl is gorgeous. She gets along with the entire crew. She is as sweet as she is gorgeous. She is very quiet, does not make a sound, in fact she has not barked in the week + we have had her. She is housetrained, and does fine in the crate, although we have not been crating her lately.
We will update more later in the week when we have more information from the vet.
Keep your fingers crossed that the news gets better for this sweet girl.
