10/19/06 - Frankie has been adopted

9/30/06 - Frankie is now in a foster-to-adopt home.

9/25/06 - Folks, I have to tell you, Frankie here is just about the sweetest pup I've seen. He is super friendly and loves to cuddle. I think this little guy is going to make a very loyal pup. Even with all the other dogs to play with, he stays by my side. He won't go out into the yard to pee unless I'm with him. He will sit tall and proud at my side on the porch. Frankie is not fond of the crate, to get some sleep we barricade him in the kitchen with a blanki and an article of my clothing for comfort. He whines for a few short minutes and settles down for the night. He does not get into anything nor does he mess at all.
Frankie has has his first puppy shot and been wormed. He is eating GREAT. He eats a cup of puppy food three times a day. He is a bit obsessed with food and gets very excited when he smells any kind of food. We will work on that and I'm sure he will be fine. He is a good listener. We only have to tell him NO once.
If I did not already have five big dogs I would keep this little guy in a heartbeat. Get your applications in fast. He won't be here long.

9/22/06 - Meet Franklin (AKA Frankie). My toddler has named him after the cartoon turtle. Frankie was found
wondering down by a river on a secluded back road. No collar, no tags, no one to claim him. An all to familiar story in my area. I guessing this beautiful boy to be about 10 to 12 wks old. He looks like he might be Shepard, Choc Lab mix with maybe a little bit of Pit Bull mixed in. He has huge feet and is going to be a good sized dog. Whatever he is he is a darling. I will be getting him his shots so he will be all ready for a new home. He loves to play with the other big dogs and loves all the kids. He is especially fond of my two and a half yr old. I have noticed he is a bit shy of
people at first. He will just slightly turn away from them until he warms up to them. He is not a big kisser and seems to reserve his kisses for the kids, even then it's just one quick kiss. He has become my shadow in just the 24 hours he has been here. He follows me everywhere and lays at my feet when I sit down. He likes to play but he's not real playful. He is just a real laid back, calm pup. He was alone in the crate this morning since today was my day hours at work. He was in the crate for 6 hours and did not make any messes. He slept in the kitchen last night with a blanket, and some toys, he slept all night without a sound. He prefers the house. He will pee outside but
then runs for the house. He also loves to cuddle. I was sitting on the living room floor last night and he curled himself up in a ball on my lap on went right to sleep.
I think Frankie will make a great pet and just wants someone to love him and take care of him.
