11/3/07 - Freddie has gone off to his new home....sorry, the rest of you all missed out on a super boy...his new mom just loves him to pieces and the feeling is mutual...he has been knitted a new doggie sweater and a brand new bed to sleep in.  He gets to go for walks and rides in the car...he has a new dachshund sister and a bunny rabbit to follow around as well...Freddie is so very happy in his new home trotting all over, loving his belly rubs and sleeping in bed with momma.  He has a nice deck to sit on and watch all the squirrels play and he got to play nosey neighbor the other day and sat in the window to watch the neighbors get new carpet...we could have NEVER found a better home for this boy...thank you Roslyn for falling in love with our baby boy.

12/25/06 - Time to update our boy Freddy. Freddy came to me several months ago, as his original home had some personal issues going on and we needed to find Freddy a place to hang while we look for his forever home.

Freddy is an approx 7-9 yr old male Shih Tzu. He is currently living with 12 dogs, both large and small. He gets along with them all, but you can see that he much prefers the laid-back life style. Freddy will find a bay window to hop up on and snooze and watch the world go by, or when in the yard, he’ll find a nice lounge to hop up on and do the same. He shies away from some of the playfulness of some of our more active fosters. If they get up in him face, he will let them know that he prefers not to be included in those kinds of activities :o))

I believe Freddy is a bit hard of hearing. When I call him, I do not get a reaction from him, unless I get pretty loud. If I catch his attention visually, he will come right over to me. Because of this, when he is sleeping, I make sure I do not startle him when trying to wake him up. When he is startled, he can snap, and because of that, we will not place Freddy in a home with young children.

Freddy is housetrained and does fine in a crate or out of one. We have not been crating him at all, as he has shown he is totally trustworthy.

He has a wonderful appetite, always cleaning his bowl. Freddy will bark when he is impatiently waiting for his meals. Also, after he has gone out and done his business, he has been barking to come in, as he appears chilled outside since we gave him a puppy cut. He was pretty matted, so we needed to get a fresh start for him. As his hair grows back he will be able to tolerate the cold a bit better.

If you are looking for a companion, one to keep you company, more interested in sitting in your lap being pet instead of fetching a toy, this is your boy.

More updates to follow.
