7/07 - Gizmo has been adopted

7/10/07 - Gizmo is pending adoption

6/8/07 - Gizmo is now almost 11 weeks old and doing fantastic. He weighs about 6 to 7 lbs and is growing like a weed. I still have not decided what he mixed with. But it really does not matter because this guy is just absolutely perfect. He is not a hyper pup. He has his moments when he will do laps around the house, but it's not very often and last about 2 minutes. He is not a runner and would never dream of letting you out of his site. I live in the country and have been helping the neighbors build a new horse fence. Gizmo goes with me. He plays with the neighbors dogs but never wonders very far. If he sees I have started walking away from him he will run as fast as his little legs will carry him to follow me. There were about 10 people helping with the fence yesterday and about 6 dogs running loose, but Gizmo never strayed far from mom. If mom made a trip back to the house for supplies, Gizmo followed.

I also realized yesterday that Gizmo actually enjoys country life with the horses and four wheelers. Take a look at the pictures. (the gun on the four wheeler is just a fake toy belonging to the kids).

Gizmo is ready and waiting for his new home. Please hurry, I do think he is getting quite attached to his foster mommy.

5/27/07 - It's time to update Gizmo again. He is doing fabulous. The fear of big dogs is GONE. He LOVES my big dogs and will play with them like he is their size. We have taken him to friends houses with big and small dogs. He has done wonderful. We have also taken him to softball games and the lake the past few days and he loves the attention he gets.
Gizmo continues to do well with children. He is still working on potty training but getting much better. He still has poo accidents in the house, but they are always in the same place. He walks great on the leash with no tugging at all. When he feels a slight tug he will fall back in beside you with no argument. I love to watch him walk. He holds his head up high with such pride and prances by my side.
Gizmo loves to be a lap dog. He likes to play but when it's nap time he seeks out mommy or daddy for a nice comfortable lap to curl up in a ball and catch some zzzz's. We are working on the crate training. He eats in his crate and will take a nap in his crate after eating but that is enough for him. He prefers to sleep in a nice warm bed and snuggle in close to keep warm.
Keep watching for updates on this adorable pup.

5/17/07 - Meet Gizmo. He is a seven week old mix. He is very tiny. I was told he was a Pomeranian/Pekinese mix but I am just not seeing that at all. He will be small however and has a tiny body and feet.

Gizmo came to me because the 7yr old female Pit bull in the home was not very appreciative of his puppy antics. I am not sure what happened to this pup but he absolutely petrified of my big dogs upon arrival here. He would climb as far up on my neck as he could get just a yipping. But thankfully that was short lived. My guys may be big but they adore puppies and are very gentle with them. After 24 hours of them laying beside Gizmo's crate, Gizmo realized they we not going to hurt him. His desire to play (as all puppies love to do) over came his fear and he was soon jumping playfully around the crate. I let him out and it's been nonstop play ever since. Gizmo does seem to get frightened when ALL of the dogs want to play at once. He does better with just one or two at a time. So I would say that he would better in a home with one or maybe two calm and gentle dogs.

Gizmo LOVES to be cuddled and be a lap dog. He does not like the crate at all but we will work on that. He does well with children of all ages, but because of his small size I would say no to children under the age of five unless the child knows that dogs need to be handled gently.

Please open your home to this playful little pup. He will be forever grateful.
