Griffin is doing
wonderfully! He now has a pug brother who is quite the little
rascal. I think Giffin is thankful that Samson lives at Grandma's
house and not with us. My boyfriend bought my mother Samson after
the very sudden passing of my father in August. Griffin has really
helped me thru all of this. I cannot express the comfort of having
him around and his curling up next to me when he knows I'm sad. I
thought he was my shadow before, you wouldn't believe how attached he is
now. Last week I was washing dishes and he was head butting me to
get my attention. This didn't stop until I got down on the floor
to play with him a little. He has becomes the most friendly
little guy. He has to stop and greet everyone on the street.
He really enjoys the pug play group that we go to. He is being a
dinosaur for Halloween. He recently got a raincoat because he
truly dreads getting wet. He just looks so handsome in it.
Griffin has truly brought happiness into our home and we just can't wait
to spend our first Christmas together!

Griffin gets better
and better everyday! Saturday we went to a pug playdate. We met
about 30
other pugs and Griffin was very happy to be making new friends. He
does get a little over whelmed but
then he just comes and hides behind me until he is brave again. He
really loves going to the
park. We have discovered he does not enjoy the pool however he
will cool down by getting wet with the
hose. He loves to attack anything that moving under a blanket!
Watch out for feet in socks, they
are not safe when Griffin is on the prowl haha. He loves to make
funny noises and be the center
of attention. When he smells food cooking he is off and running
looking for any scraps of food
that are going to be dropped. He has becomes quite popular in the
neighborhood... everyone knows and
loves him. He will follow me outside without his leash but he wont
leave my side without my
saying ok. Still no accidents in the house either!

Griffin is much better
now!! After some tummy problems last week we took a trip to the
vet but
now we are all better! His appetite is non stop... is food is
around somewhere.. Griffin will find
it! He LOVES to watch t.v.! He is really starting to show
his personality.. he even barks now!
And like a true Pug he snorts away! He is great with everyone!
The only person he didn't like
yet was the pizza delivery guy.. haha .. but he just barked at him a
lot! He loves Darren (my
boyfriend) and gets so excited when he comes over! He really gets
going just like a puppy when he is
around! He even mopes around for a little while when he leaves.
He has formed a special
friendship with my brother Richard who watches him when I'll be gone for
a longer amount of time than
usual! I hear he is quite the babe magnet! haha! He loves to
sit at my feet when I am at the computer
and loves meeting other small dogs... we are looking into obedience
school not b/c Griffin is bad
but just so he learns commands such as sit, lay down etc..
We are very happy together and will write more soon!

Griffin and I are
getting along great! He is really starting to come out of his
shell! He likes to be my little shadow and follow me around.
He has become quite the star on the block, my next door neighbor, Sean.
loves him and comes over to visit him almost daily. We started
adding new food to his diet last night and thatgave him a bit of an
upset tummy, but I'm hoping that within the next few days he'll start to
feel better.
Griffin has really loved going on walks around the neighborhood.
He met his Grandma and Grandpa last night (my mom and dad) and he was
putty in my mom's arms. He just loves the attention and being pet!
I'll update more as he comes out of his shell! Talk to you all
soon!

Griffin has been adopted

It is time to introduce
our foster boy Griffin. Griffin actually came to the Wings & Halo Haven
on 4/8/06. He is a shelter surrender, coming from a high kill shelter in
NYC. Why no one would have come and reclaimed this wonderful boy is
beyond me.
Griffin is a larger size pug, with a prematurely gray muzzle. We took
him to the vet for a checkup and everything checked out just great. The
only issue he had was an undescended testicle, which, upon examination,
the vet located in his abdomen. So, Griffin had a somewhat more
extensive neuter surgery, but a successful one. He is fully recuperated
and ready to go.
Griffin started out as a pretty quiet guy, shying away from the somewhat
nutty activity of his foster pug brothers. He would sit off on the side
and try to stay out of the way. Maybe he was just not feeling up to it,
with the surgery and all.
Over the last few weeks, he has shown that he can mix it up with the
nuts in the house, although he definitely prefers to hang out and chill.
All in all, he is a very calm and laid back pug boy.
Griffin has a wonderful appetite, and is also totally housetrained. We
have not crated him since the 1st day he was here. He is not a kissy
boy, but will come to you and get some petting and belly rubbin till his
hearts content.
This is really a super boy, as you can tell. We do not have any
experience with young kids, so we would look for a home with kids 8 yrs
old or over. Clearly other dogs will be fine, although lower activity
dogs would be best, as it is clearly what he prefers.
Get you apps in if you are looking for a calm, wonderful pug to spend
your days with. He's right here on Long Island waiting for you.
