Pertinent Information 3/20/05 -
Hercules completed his journey today. This poor boy had been
uprooted because of the sudden and premature death of his dad, and today
he has completed his journey. Tina, thank you so much for taking
Hercules on his home visit and making sure this boy will have the best
life for himself. 3/16/05 - Hercules came to the Wings & Halo Haven approx 3 weeks ago. He dad had passed away, and the family that was taking over the house did not want Hercules. Thankfully they called Boxer Angels to take him in, and arrangements were made. We were told he was not housetrained, but was a very sweet boy and got along with everyone. Well, after the 1st day of Hercules stay, we determined they were right :o))). We began working on Hercules housetraining. We watched him carefully and whenever he looked like he was going to pick up his leg we said loud and sternly “HERCULES NO!"" and we would take him out. We also crated him at night. In addition, Hercules was not yet neutered, and we know from experience, this would improve once he was. Well, he was a quick learner. He picked up on what was expected of him, and during the rest of the 1st week he only would have an occasional accident. By the end of the second week he was not having any accidents, and he had not yet been neutered :o)). He was neutered last week and is doing fine. Hercules has that typical pug personality, the kind you can only love. He is wonderful with all the dogs, both big and small, and is surprisingly calm for a pretty young boy. And with people, well, what can I say, he just loves attention. He discovered toys pretty quickly, and enjoys playing with squeaky ones. He also loves to chew on his kong, whether it is empty or full of peanut butter. I have noticed he is not a big sharer...he gives the other dogs a warning growl if they look at him while he is enjoying his kong. Its just a growl, nothing behind it at all, just a lot of noise :o)) He eats beautifully, always finishing his food. He loves his non-fat vanilla yogurt mixed in with his kibble. This boy is a pleasure, and as you can see, he is beautiful. His marking are quite unique. He is very dark, but is not a pure black pug. His face is black and his legs are black and most of his body is black, but he has a fair amount of fawn mixed in with the rest of his body. So, Hercules is all set and ready to go to his forever home, where some family is going to be VERY, VERY happy with him :o)) |
