5/1/05 - It has been decided that Josh will be staying with his foster mom...he is now 11 yrs old and has been with me for over 1 yr. He has a grade 5 heart murmur and is really slowing down. I feel it will not be fair at this point to move him on to another home..I love him so very much and can not do that to him. So no matter how much time this baby has left he will continue to be very loved here at the Boxer/shih tzu haven. Please keep good thoughts coming for Josh.

1/21/05 - Josh, Josh, Josh....well what can I say about Josh that hasn't been said about this very sweet boy. He has really come out of his shell and is doing great with meeting new people!! He is giving kisses right off the bat. I still tell people to let him come to them but he doesn't seem to hesitate anymore and goes right up to them and kisses away. He has a small bout of diarrhea  right now so we will keep an eye on him over the next few days. I just started putting yogurt in his food so maybe that is doing it. Josh is still the greatest, sweetest little boy...I just love him to death and love having him here however, it is not fair to Josh to not have his very own forever home. Please take a second look at this adorable little guy.

1/14/05 - Well not much has changed...Josh is doing well and is much better with people coming into the home. He has been with a few people and is very free with his kisses....you just need to go slow in the beginning. He is also doing better on his house training. He needs to go out frequently but has been having fewer and fewer accidents. He is just such a joy to have in the home....as a senior boy he would love nothing more then to have a home with a lap to cuddle in all day....any retirees out there that would like a travel companion or lap buddy to love? Josh is your boy!

11/23/04 -Josh continues to do very well in my home. I have him on some antibiotics right now as he has a UTI. That should clear up quickly.
Josh is looking for a home possibly with a senior or senior couple to care for him. Someone that will have the patience to work with him and give him the time he needs to fall in love with you and trust you. He is a quiet little guy that most of the time you don't know he is there and the other times is happy to be on your lap to be pet and give you kisses.

8/14/04 - JOSH IS BACK!!!!! And boy is he one happy guy....he slept in bed cuddled with me the
first night and I think he kissed me all night long:o)) then when we got home on Sunday he slept
back in bed with my nephew like he never left...right up next to Anthony's head.
His adoptive mom decided after just a couple of days that Josh was just not the dog for her. Josh
had a few accidents in the home, as most dogs do for the first couple of weeks till settled, and
his adoptive mom didn't approve. I ask all families out there looking for a dog to adopt to please
listen to EVERYTHING the foster home and rescue has to say about the dog AND think very carefully
about whether you can deal with the issues that may come with your dog. It is not good for a dog to
be moved back and forth from place to place...we need commitment, patience and stability for these
babies, nothing less. If you think that you can give that type of home to Josh then please fill out
an application for him.

4/24/04 - First I have to correct my error.. Josh is 10 not 12...this will be corrected in his significant information. Josh is doing very well here in my home..although he does seem a little out of sorts with all the other dogs around. I think he would just love to be an only dog with no other pets to bother him.  He is quiet and sleeps most of the day away. When you talk to him he tips his head from side to side. I really do think this boy misses his mom and hope someone can fill those shoes and make Josh a happy boy again.
He sleeps with my 14 year old nephew and has grown pretty attached to him.
I do feel there is a very loving couple that would do wonders for this boy. Maybe a couple settled with no kids running around would be best.
Josh is here and waiting so please fill out your app and let us know it if for him.

4/11/04 - Josh arrived at our home yesterday for some well needed rest and quiet. He was in a local shelter after his owner of 12 years had to go to a nursing home. Josh was so very scared and upset at the shelter, when the volunteer went to get him he was shaking and growled a bit....as soon as she picked him up and got him outside he felt so much better but was still very scared.
Josh is doing well in our home and is getting along with all of the dogs..boxers and shih tzus alike. He is still a bit frightened but much better then yesterday. He does like it when I take him outside he trots around wagging his tail:o)
I think Josh will settle very quickly into a new home with lots of love and attention.
Please consider this senior boy for your home.
