I am happy to
report that Lilly has found a wonderful home with a great family that
lives local so
I will be able to continue with her shots. She will be the center of
attention and will have a cat to play with. She will also have a 13 yr
old girl and a 15 yr old boy that will be able to spend the entire
summer with her and are thrilled to welcome her into there family. I
wish her the best of luck. She is such a sweet girl that deserves
nothing but the best. Good luck with your new life Lilly.

Lilly is doing much
better. The fleas and worms are gone. The scabs are healing nicely and
she has
been started on her puppy shots. She is definitely coming out of her
shell and behaving more like a puppy. She wants to be with the other
dogs and follows them around the house, that is until they try to play.
Then she will run and hide in the crate. She has started chewing on the
dog toys and likes to play tug of war. She picked up a corner of the
blanket she was laying on today and started tugging on it. She LOVES to
run and chase the kids around the yard. Her tail has been held in the
air and wagging for about a day now. She is still very shy at first upon
meeting new people but warms up pretty quick. She will back away and
cower slightly when being pet. But once she realizes you are not going
to hurt her she will snuggle right into the crook of your neck. Being a
tiny pup she will follow me in the yard for potty breaks. She is never
to far and does take some time to realize I'm not leaving and she can go
potty. When she is done with her business she will run back and hide
between my legs. She continues to be a huge lover. She will play and be
a normal curious pup, but when it's nap time she prefers to be in your
lap snuggled in a tiny ball with her nose buried. I have yet to hear her
bark and she is not a big kisser (yet anyway). When she does give a
quick kiss I noticed she still has that puppy breath I absolutely love.
I have had a ton of family and friends that tell me how sweet and
adorable she is, but unfortunately no one has offered to give this baby
a home. Once you meet her you can't say no to that adorable face. I
would keep her myself in a heartbeat, but hubby says four resident dogs
and the BAR foster dogs I take are plenty to add to the three kids. I
have given her the first of her puppy shots and I have the other two
that I will send with her. I'm sure she wont be here long.

Meet Lilly everyone.
Lilly a very sweet beagle spaniel mix pup that has a sad story. I am
known in
my town as the dog lady. A woman breeds her poor spaniel mix mama to her
beagle mix daddy as soon as the last litter is weaned. She tries to sell
these pups for hundreds of dollars as "quality" hunting dogs. In Lilly's
case, she was the last pup left and she needed to get rid of her the
very day she called me. She threatened to drown her if I did not take
her. Of course I took her. Lilly was in pretty rough shape when I picked
her up. She stunk of urine, her little puppy nails were curled up under
and almost touching the pads of her feet, she has scabs all over her
from her brothers and sisters "rough play", she was infested with fleas
and has tapeworm. Upon arrival at my home she was given a much needed
bath, treated with frontline, got a nail trimming, and is being treated
for the worms. She will be started on her shots today.
Lilly is very sweet and shy. She backs away from hands at first but
warms up pretty quick. She is a definite lap dog. She LOVES to snuggle
in the crook of your arm all wrapped up in a warm blanket. She is scared
of the big dogs I have here so doesn't mind spending time in the crate.
She will run and chase the kids outside away from the other dogs. her
little tail is always tucked between her legs in a fearful position and
hasn't waged as of yet. But she is very young and will soon forget
whatever rough treatment she endured before.
Lilly is looking for a home and someone who will shower her with the
love and affection she deserves. I'm sure she will be quite content
sleeping on your lap "where she is now as I'm writing this". She will
need some time and patience and gentile training to get her to come out
of her shell. Don't make this little girl wait to long.
