4/5/07 - Princess is pending adoption 3/9/07 - Princess is doing fantastic but just does not understand why she has not been adopted yet. I am still looking for the perfect home for my little Princess. She is now four months old and weighs about 8 to 10lbs. I found out that she was born the day after Thanksgiving. Princess is a Pomeranian/Border Collie mix. She has the intelligence and energy of a Border Collie with the size of a Pomeranian.I can't say enough good things about this little girl. She loves her humans and loves to play, play, play. She is always kissing, weather it be her humans, the other dogs, or just the air. Her favorite nap place is curled up and snuggled next to one of the other dogs. She would love to sleep in your bed if you would allow it. She is just the right size for someone's lap. Princess is just a pup and will require a lot of exercise. She is full of energy. She is also looking for someone who will be patient and understanding of her needs. She was abused before I got her and although she has gotten over her fear of people, she still has some signs of possible fear or submission. When you crouch down to call her to you, she will happily bounce over to you and then she will slow down just as she gets to you and crawls over and pee. She can not be punished for this as it is not her fault. Peeing in front of an "Alpha" is a sign of submission. This could also and more then likely be a puppy thing that she will outgrow. Another thing she does is when you get her out of the crate after any amount of time, she will make a pee trail all the way to the door. Again, this is not her fault. This is a sign of excited peeing. The best way to handle this is to take her out of her crate, pick her up without any acknowledgment at all and take her out. This is also something she will likely outgrow. If you are home most of the time and looking for a good laugh and some great company, if you want a smaller dog that is easy to take with you on trips, if you have the patience and understanding to help Princess with her puppy issues, if you believe in giving a dog rules and boundaries, and if you just love those fluffy bat ears, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Princess is waiting for you 2/17/07 - Princess continues to do well here with us. She is a very outgoing, happy pup. The PA snowstorm with a foot and a half of snow was so much fun. My older son shoveled a maze of paths through my front yard. Princess has been having a blast chasing him through them. She gets running at mach speed and then hops like a bunny when she is on his heels. I have to make her come in because she is shivering from the cold but would stay out all day if I let her. Princess shows that she could be a very protective girl with her people. She will need a home where she will be loved but not allowed to get away with too much. She needs clear rules and boundaries. She also needs someone who is home all or most of the time as she is just a baby and needs to be socialized and housebroken. If you think you are the right home for my little princess then hurry and fill out an application. 2/9/07 - Princess
continues to flourish here. The nice things about puppies is
that they seem to have a short memory. Prinnie is completely
over the shying away when approached. She is a total ball of
happiness. This little girl is happy ALL the time. She picked up
on her name very quickly and seems to really like it. When were
outside she will wonder slightly out into the yard, when she
hears me yell "Prinnie, Prinnie, Princess", her head perks up
with her ear pricked and off she happily "bounces" to me with
her tail wagging so fast she loses balance. Any time she hears
her name (even if I am just talking "about" her and not to her)
she will come over just as happy as can be to see what I wanted.
2/5/07 - Welcome little Princess (Prinnie for short) to the FOB group. She is a 10wk old Pomeranian mix. She is probably the cutest little thing I have seen in a long time. This little girl was the product of a litter of 8 puppies. All the puppies found good homes with the exception of Prinnie. She was given to a man who said he wanted a companion. It was brought to the attention of the original owners of this pup by a neighbor, that the man she was given to was always screaming at her, calling her horrible names resulting in Prinnie yelping and crying in pain. The good neighbor went to the mans door and demanded the pup which thankfully he gave willingly. The neighbor then took the dog back to the original owner. The original owner rents their home and when the landlord first found out about the pups the family was told to get rid of them all or be evicted. That is where I came in. Rather then handing the pup over to just anyone and possibly have this happen again to this poor three lb. pup, I offered to find her a good home. Prinnie does seem to have some effects of the abuse. She will cower slightly when you walk to her. However, if you get down on a knee and call her to you, she will bounce like a bunny right over to you with her tail wagging a mile a minute. Prinnie does well with the big dogs. She plays like a typical pup. She also is typical of the pom breed and acts every bit her name (Princess). She loves to be held and carried around. She also likes to pose, cocking her head sideways and perking those pom ears straight up in the air. It is really just to cute. Because Prinnie will be a small dog and right now at 10wks weighs aprox 3lbs, I will not adopt her to a home with children under five. She will also need to be in a home with gentle big dogs. Don't wait to long to get your app in. This adorable little ball of fur won't be here long.
