3/13/06 - My Sammy just left with his new family.  They were so happy to see him and said that he was more
adorable than his photos...and I agree.  He will have two fur sisters and two skin sisters who I know will spoil him terribly (just like I did). It was very difficult to say goodbye, but my little clown had us all laughing when we all sat on the floor or "try" to put his new harness on him...I think he knew I needed a laugh.  He will be well loved, and I am so very happy for him.

3/12/06 - Sam is pending adoption

3/2/06 - Sammy has been here for 10 days and it's amazing the transformation of this little guy.  When he came here, he was just beginning a URI and kennel cough, so the first few days were a little rough on him.  He pretty much just slept or wanted to be held.  Well, now he's just the happiest, most adorable little man.  He's still very much a puppy and will carry my shoes around, loves his toys and wants to be into everything that we're doing.  He's living with five dogs of varying ages and sizes and two cats and is absolutely wonderful with all.  His best buddy is our Boxer and everyone says that it looks like Sam is Kaiser's pet.  They are inseparable.  We have a business in our home so Sammy is allowed to be with us all day in the office.  He has been exposed to dozens of people and is just the friendliest boy.  When people first see him, they notice his teeth.  He has the biggest overbite and that's the first thing you see is these gleaming white teeth.  It makes him look a little angry, but within a minute, everyone is saying how adorable he is and how can they apply to adopt him.  Sammy is housetrained, but tends to forget to ask to go out when he's playing with his fur brothers and will have an occasional accident so he still needs a little work in that department...but after all, he's still a baby! If we go out or at night he has been in his crate, although he will cry for a minute or two, but will settle down quickly. This little guy has something for everybody......He can be the sweetest cuddlebug, or he can be a playmate, or perhaps a little brother...take your pick...he has it all!!!  He's having "his procedure" done next Wednesday, so after that, he'll be "good to go"..  Stay tuned for more info about our little Sammy!

2/21/06 - Sam the pug was moved to a different home last night through no fault of his own he is an awesome little dog.  Sam got along with my 2 boxers and was good with the cats he met as well as the male lab mix he met but our other foster was having trouble adjusting to him. Sam is an all around great little guy I miss him but know he is being well taken care off and I am sure his new foster parents will keep us posted.

2/20/06 - Sam the pug is doing great. He settled down last night in the crate much better then the first night he barked 3 times but then settled in for the night. It was actually very peaceful in my room last night. Sam gets along great with Maddie and Marco and actually met the neighbors cats last night the bigger cat came nose to nose with him and he didn't do anything. I think Sam would do great in any home he is a joy to have around. Sams one bad habit is begging he will eat the food right out of your hand.
Despite his size Sam is not a huge lap dog he gets on the couch and sits for a little while but then he usually hops down to take a space on the floor. Sam is not afraid of the bigger dogs when Marco pounces on him he turns and runs after him if he has had to much of that game he comes looking for me and stands behind me. Actually he follows me everywhere. I am really glad we are getting the chance to foster Sam we all love him. Especially my daughter she calls him Buddy and he comes running. He has got the cutest little mushy face. We will continue to work on Sam's one little bad habit but hey out of all the bad habits there is a little begging never hurt anyone :)

2/18/06 - Sam arrived with Duncan the boxer via the comedy express (better known as my Subaru) it was a sight
to see trying to get the 2 of them in the car without getting at each other. Through combined efforts (thanks Sue) we arrived safely here in upstate NY.
Sam is my first FOB dog I am very excited for the opportunity to foster him. My daughter who has been asking for a little dog for the past year for the day to come when we would be able to foster a pug or any little dog for that matter.
Sam is doing well he has met Maddie and Marco and hasn't bothered with Maddie but to sniff her and he and Marco have been running around together. I love watching him back Marco off then Marco comes running at and the game continues.  Stay tuned for more on Sam the Pug :)
