11/5/05 - Well, the little Timster went home today. I took him to a home visit in NJ...horrendous traffic, but the home was perfect for him. Older but spunky 9 yr old pug brother, mom and dad and 2 young 2 legged sisters, 2 1/2 and 6 1/2 yrs old.
Everything was perfect, and they just loved him.....needless to say, Timmy did not come home from the home visit.

Good luck little Timmy....you were a wonderful guest :o))

Timmy's First Update from his Forever Home - Just wanted to let you know that Timmy is settling in very nicely. He and Sig were running all around together and playing tug of war over Sig's slipper. It was so nice to see them playing so happily together. He spent the later part of the afternoon snoozing on our laps - he's so sweet!  I think he'll be very happy here.  Thank you so much!   Amy

11/2/05 - Timmy is pending adoption

10/24/05 - We are long past due in introducing Timmy, a very cute little pug boy. How Timmy found BAR is pretty sad, but also very fortunate for him. Timmy dad died and his mom felt she could not care for him, so she and her granddaughter brought Timmy to a Long Island shelter.  The grand daughter was sooo hysterically crying that she caught the attention of a few of the volunteers at the shelter. She could not get control of herself; she was devastated to have to give Timmy up. One of the volunteers tried to comfort her, telling her everything was going to be ok.   After a bit, the volunteer had an idea to pull Timmy from the shelter and contacted BAR, who she learned has pulled several pugs from this shelter in the past. Arrangements were made, and Timmy joined the foster clan here.

We quickly noticed that Timmy needed to have some basic maintenance work done. It appears that Timmy's nails had not been done in a year or more. They were curled in a circular pattern; luckily none went up into his paw pads. We got him to the vet and had them trimmed back, and this will need to be done again in a few weeks.

When we 1st met Timmy he was a bit shy, but that of course is to be expected. After a day or so, Timmy's personality started to come out. This boy is a super little guy. He gets along with all of the dogs, big and small. He is very playful, and we have discovered he loves his stuffed animal toys and rope toys and balls too. He has a super appetite, always finishes his meal, and we have to make sure he does not eat the other dog’s food.

Timmy is always happy to see his people. When i come home from work, and come downstairs to foster land, Timmy is right there with the welcoming committee. He is mostly housetrained, but has had a few accidents. We have not crated him, but could be if someone wanted to.

Timmy's vet visit went very well, he is heartworm negative, lungs and heart good, in fact, Timmy does not even snort like most pugs do. His left rear leg bows out a bit when he walks, and she showed that to the vet. She said his knee cap is not in the right place and that is the reason for his leg bowing. She said it is not bothering him, and there is really nothing to do. He was probably born that way, and he get along fine.

Another thing I noticed about Timmy is his teeth. What can I say, they are PERFECT. It almost looks like he hadbraces as a kid :o)). I am so used to seeing crooked teeth on pugs, Timmy’s teeth are perfectly straight and no spaces...just perfect :o)) He has a beautiful smile.

Timmy has been a wonderful guest these last 4 weeks, but we know he is ready for his forever home, where he can get more one on one attention he so deserves.

Timmy, we wish you nothing but happiness in your new forever home. We have grown to love you very much, you are a wonderful boy.
