6/18/07 - I had Duke put to sleep on Tuesday.  The vet was so wonderful and he went peacefully.  He was a very sweet boy.  Thanks for letting him come out of the shelter to have a few days in the country.  He enjoyed the yard and actually played ball with himself which was very cute.  He really touched my heart so it was a pleasure to provide his last days with some hugs and kisses.

5/12/07 - I pulled two boxers out of a NY city shelter yesterday.  I was supposed to just get Jake but then saw Duke a senior boxer who has trouble with his back legs and couldn’t leave him behind.  Duke is a fawn too who is 8 years old.  He was a stray in Manhattan but doesn’t look like he was on the street long since he is a little over weight. He has no strength in his rear right leg so he stumbles a lot.  He seems happy though.
