11/30/06 -
Tonight - sometime between 6 and 6:30 my son let the dogs out into the
yard. I haven't been out so I don't know how it happened but they did
get out of the fenced yard and our baby, Jaida, was hit by a car and
killed. The entire family is devastated. We will always love and
remember our Jaida baby - rest in peace.
10/28/06 - Jaida is
pending adoption
I might just as well make it official. My husband and I had 'the talk'
tonight and we would like be adopt Jaida. This girl walked in here and
is family - has been since the minute she came through the door - like
one of Directors told me last Sunday at our training session, it's when
you're NOT looking that they find you I guess. As soon as I cab find
the digital camera I will send you all somepictures. I have never,
ever, had a dog walk in here and belong immediately, including the two
that live here. ~sigh~ Hooray for us.:-) I guess it really was love
at first sight!

Jaida is our first foster in a few
months and what a character she is! She came to us from an owner who
had all good intentions of keeping her but just wasn't home enough.
Typical to most boxer puppies she is a total ball of energy and just
runs and runs and runs until she wears both of my older boxers out and
then collapses in a heap herself.
Someone has spent some time working with Jaida and she seems to have
some idea of hand signals. She came when I called her last night, at
least once. Since I'm not sure what she's been taught she may know more
and I'll figure out what they are as we go along.
Since Jaida is so young she really needs someone who is home most of the
time or who works short days. She won't do too well in a home where
someone is out of the house at a full time job Monday through Friday.
She's a happy go lucky girl loves my kids and the other dogs and would
probably be ok with cats once she figured out what they were all about.
She came to us spayed and with all her shots up to date so she really is
ready to go right now! |
