9/3/08 - Marilyn passed away away this morning. She has been failing since she came into rescue, vet appt was today, but from everything we know, this was a classic case of a dog dumped by the owner who did not have the guts to do the right thing by their girl, and made it someone else’s heartache. Safe journey Marilyn. 9/1/08 - Marilyn is a very sweet old girl. She doesn't eat much yet but will, at least once a day, eat some chicken if my husband sweet talks her! She has taken a special liking to him! She is very gentle, we have cut her nails and bathed her. She loves attention. She has not had complete freedom with the other dogs yet but they see each other through gates and they seem like they will be fine. I really have seen no negative behaviors with her at all. She just needs to get back on her feet and that will happen when she starts eating regularly. 8/23/08 - Marilyn arrived
today. She seems like a very mellow old girl. She has not reacted either
way to much. She enjoys attention from all in the family and will walk
back and forth between people to get her back rubbed. She allowed me to
clean her face off thoroughly, not minding it at all. We've had some
minor tail wagging upon our entering the room. She really is just
adjusting today, hanging out in her crate, watching the goings on of the
family. She has not had contact with the other dogs yet except a little
sniffing through her crate so I will update on that in the near future.
She looks very sad and is not feeling her best. I look forward to her
getting back on her feet, putting a little weight on and seeing her
personality emerge. She does seem sweet. |
